    Below is an excerpt from the goal of one of our pages,*Modernized Christianity; No Longer a Myth*!

    That ESSENCE and IDENTITY was essentially birthed in Antioch, when those outside the NEW CHURCH community saw the behaviour of the early adherents of the new FAITH, and NOTED that these new community persons were with Christ Jesus, and are behaving CHRISTLIKE, were behaving and living like CHRIST JESUS. There, the NAME "CHRISTIAN" was birthed and regarded as the title, the identity and profile of these new crop of believers.

    Since I revisited the goal last night,my mind has been subjected to self ridicule and criticism, and rightly so too. WE HAVE DEVOTED MORE OF OUR TIME, ENGAGING ONE ANOTHER,IN SCRIPTURAL INTELLECTUAL CONFLICTS, ABOUT THINGS THAT GOD MAY NOT WANT US TO BOTHER ABOUT AT THE MOMENT! I don't know about you reading this,but for me,we are extremely far from God's expectations for us.

    Can we fit into that description above? WHERE,OUR INPUT AND OUTPUT IDENTIFIES US AS CHRISTIANS,AND NOT OUR MOUTHS!

    With all the obvious signs pointing to the impending turbulence ahead,we are still comfortable playing *church and religion*.

    Logically,one of the most heart wrenching death,is dying the death that you could have easily prevented or avoided. But,died all the same, because of our stubbornness.

    This is our position today as believers. Pharaoh saw clearly,the handwriting on the wall,but pride led him to an avoidable death.

    And Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed? (Exo 10: 7)

    The scriptures are rife with accounts of those who had an opportunity to *change their fortune*,but eventually preferred the *praises of men*!

    God,in HIS INFINITE MERCY AND GRACE, continues to unveil and expose the devil's antics,we would still not hearken to HIS WARNINGS, instead we get entangled more in the pursuit of trivialities... mundane lusts that will deny us *ETERNAL REST*.

    Must we be like Judas Iscariot? Take an example from the king and citizens of Nineveh...who hearkened to God's warnings and saved themselves.

    Let's hear from apostle Peter;

    10. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12. Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (2Pe 3: 10-12)

    Listen, brethrens,the same way God doesn't fail on HIS promises,the same way HE doesn't fail on HIS punishment of disobedience.

    Samaria and Judah NEVER believed God will allow those they termed the *uncircumcised* to burn HIS Temple down. But,HE did! Don't forget HE allowed the Philistines to capture HIS ARK,to send a message to Priest Eli and sons led Israel.

    So, church building owners, continue to compete for whose worship centre will be the largest and more modern,to the detriment of salvation of souls. Establish schools, hospitals,banks and whatever,that the less privileged in the church wouldn't even be able to access. Business structures,in the name of Evangelism. How many*Genuine Souls*,have all these facilities added to church?(please, I know what I mean).

    God didn't call us to be LANDLORDS ON EARTH,NO..WE ARE TENANTS ON EARTH!

    We are only PRACTICING HERE ON EARTH,HOW WE SHALL LIVE IN THE NEW LIFE, GOD HAS PREPARED FOR US!
    That's why Peter said, everything we are beholding today,will be reduced to rubble. Yet,we still don't care. We are more concerned with our physical body than with our souls and spirits... pitiable indeed.

    If the place of worship was a top priority for God, Solomon's temple wouldn't have been burnt down. BY ALL STANDARDS, NO CURRENT BUILDER CAN EVER BUILD ANYTHING CLOSE TO SOLOMON'S TEMPLE, THAT WAS LAID WITH THE MOST EXPENSIVE GOLD, IN AND OUT! THE BUILDING ISN'T WHAT GOD IS AFTER...HIS PRIORITY IS THE QUALITY (FIRST) OF THE WORSHIPPERS, BEFORE THE QUANTITY! I hope someone understands this.

    We are in injury time..time is fast running out..all the signs are indicative of all Christ Jesus told us in HIS WORD!
    Listen to this;

    1. Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2. After TWO DAYS will he REVIVE US: in the THIRD DAY he will RAISE US up, and we shall LIVE in HIS SIGHT. (Hos 6: 1-2)

    But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that ONE DAY IS WITH THE LORD as a THOUSAND YEARS, and a THOUSAND YEARS as ONE DAY. (2Pe 3: 8)

    We are currently in 2022 years AD!
    I ain't suggesting anything,but I pray the HOLY SPIRIT guides us into the knowledge of our time on earth being almost up. IN ANY CASE, IF I CLOSE MY EYES IN DEATH THIS MOMENT, MY TIME IS ALREADY UP!

    So brethrens,let us redeem the times please. We shouldn't allow the flesh to deny us a glorious eternity. This matter has become more serious than ever, in line with current happenings globally. There's no one so dull,that can't notice *all isn't well*,as it used to be. CAN'T ANYONE SEE,THAT INCREMENT IN KNOWLEDGE IS ALSO MULTIPLYING SORROW AND GRIEF, EQUALLY INCREASING MODES OF SELF DESTRUCTION, INSTEAD OF JOY ?

    Please,like Hosea pleaded,let us RETURN TO GOD AND HIS WORD, AND IT SHALL BE WELL WITH US,AMEN !

    [THE PREACHER'S CORNER]

    THE RANDOM ARROW AND DAVID'S STONE...THE GREATEST WISDOM IS SEEKING GOD'S COUNSEL IN OUR LIFE'S AFFAIRS (PART TWO)

    I assured us,we yet have more to look into as we studied how God guided an off mark arrow to kill crafty and wicked king Ahab,and how God guided David's stone to hit Goliath's forehead despite his protective headgear.

    We also learnt to choose our associations wisely, through the near death experience of Jehoshaphat, because of his alliance with Ahab, despite Ahab's ungodliness. Ahab, whom Jehoshaphat took as a brother king almost wickedly sent him to an early grave.

    NOW, LET'S CLINICALLY LOOK AT DAVID'S STONE...THE SINGLE STONE THAT BROUGHT GIANT GOLIATH DOWN.[1Sam.17:40-54]

    God can use anything and anyone to fulfill His Purpose.
    David was a mere shepherd boy,caring for his father's sheep in the bush. While he cared for the sheep,he NEVER forgot his God and spending quality time in His Presence. INFACT,MOST OF HIS PSALMS WERE WRITTEN DURING THIS PERIOD. LITTLE DID HE KNOW THAT GOD WAS PREPARING HIM.

    When God was satisfied with his response to HIS TRAINING, HE brought him out to challenge and kill Goliath,to rid Israel off the ridicule of the Philistines. This is significance of the fight.

    Then David reached into his bag.

    David's action of reaching into his bag signifies preparation and faith. He had previously selected five smooth stones from a brook, demonstrating his reliance on God rather than conventional weapons. This act reflects the biblical principle of using what God has provided, as seen in the story of Moses and his staff (Exodus 4:2-4).

    And took out a stone

    The stone represents the seemingly insignificant tools God uses to achieve His purposes. In Biblical times, stones were common weapons for shepherds, highlighting David's background and experience. This choice of weapon underscores the theme of God using the humble and lowly to confound the mighty;
    But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; (1Co 1: 27)

    And slung it

    The sling was a simple yet effective weapon, requiring skill and precision. David's use of the sling demonstrates his confidence and trust in God, as well as his own abilities honed as a shepherd. This act can be seen as a type of Christ Jesus , who used seemingly weak means (His death on the Cross) to defeat sin and death.

    Striking the Philistine on the forehead

    The forehead was a vulnerable spot, and David's precise aim signifies DIVINE GUIDANCE. The Philistine, Goliath, represents the enemies of God's people, and his defeat symbolizes God's power over evil. This moment foreshadows the ultimate victory of Christ Jesus over Satan, as prophesied in Genesis 3:15.

    The stone sank into his forehead
    The stone sinking into Goliath's forehead indicates the totality of God's victory. It was not merely a superficial wound but a decisive blow. This imagery parallels the crushing of Satan's head by Christ Jesus, fulfilling the promise of redemption and victory over sin.

    And he fell facedown on the ground

    Goliath's fall facedown is significant, as it mirrors the posture of submission and defeat. In ancient Near Eastern culture, falling facedown was a sign of humiliation and surrender. This event prefigures the ultimate submission of all powers and authorities to Christ Jesus , as described in Philippians 2:10-11.

    You see, David was able to achieve this feat because,he was walking in God's Counsel, otherwise he can't.

    THE IMPORTANCE OF SEEKING GODLY COUNSEL!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In 1 Kings 22, King Jehoshaphat of Judah demonstrates the wisdom of seeking divine guidance before making decisions. When King Ahab of Israel proposes an alliance to reclaim Ramoth-gilead, Jehoshaphat insisted on consulting the Lord first.
    This teaches us the value of seeking godly counsel in our own lives. By prioritizing God's wisdom, we align our actions with His will.(Pro.15:22)
    Yet, there's something we must pick out. Seeking God's Counsel without intending to obey It is dangerous. Jehoshaphat got the counsel he desired but didn't obey it. He decided to please man rather than obey God,and almost paid with his life.
    Beware of False Prophets
    Ahab's prophets unanimously predict victory, but their words are not from God. Micaiah, the true prophet, warns of defeat, revealing the danger of listening to voices that merely echo our desires. "For false christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible" (Matthew 24:24). Discernment is crucial in distinguishing truth from deception.
    Stand Firm in Truth
    Micaiah stands alone against 400 prophets, boldly proclaiming God's message despite opposition. His courage reminds us to stand firm in truth, even when it's unpopular. As Ephesians 6:14 encourages, "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist." Upholding truth requires conviction and courage, but it is always worth it.
    The Sovereignty of God
    Despite Ahab's attempts to disguise himself in battle, God's Will PREVAILS. A random arrow struck him, fulfilling Micaiah's prophecy. This illustrates God's sovereignty over all circumstances. "The LORD has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all" (Psalm 103:19). Trusting in God's ultimate control brings peace and assurance.
    The Consequences of Disobedience
    Ahab's refusal to heed God's warning leads to his downfall. His story is a sobering reminder that disobedience to God carries consequences. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Choosing obedience leads to life and blessing.
    The Power of Prayer
    When faced with challenges, turning to God in prayer invites His intervention. "The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail" (James 5:16). Prayer is our lifeline to divine strength and guidance. THIS MUCH WAS DEMONSTRATED IN DAVID'S LIFE.
    The Value of Humility
    Jehoshaphat's willingness to seek God's guidance reflects a humble heart. Humility opens the door to God's wisdom and favor. "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you" (James 4:10). Embracing humility allows us to receive God's grace and direction. It was what God saw in David that made HIM picked him above his elder brothers. David always humbly seek God's Will in any endeavour.
    The Danger of Pride
    Ahab's pride blinds him to the truth, leading to his demise. Pride can cloud our judgment and separate us from God's wisdom. "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). Recognizing and overcoming pride is essential for spiritual growth.
    The Role of Accountability
    Jehoshaphat's alliance with Ahab brings unintended consequences, highlighting the importance of accountability in our relationships. David's associates were those that share in his faith in God. Surrounding ourselves with godly influences helps us stay on the right path. "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17). Accountability strengthens our walk with God.
    The Faithfulness of God
    Despite human failings, God's faithfulness remains constant. He fulfills His word through Micaiah, demonstrating His unwavering commitment to truth and justice. "Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His covenant of loving devotion for a thousand generations" (Deuteronomy 7:9). Trusting in God's faithfulness gives us hope and confidence in His promises.
By prioritizing God's wisdom, we align our actions with His will.(Pro.15:22) Yet, there's something we must pick out. Seeking God's Counsel without intending to obey It is dangerous. Jehoshaphat got the counsel he desired but didn't obey it. Discernment is crucial in distinguishing truth from deception. πŸ‘‰Stand Firm in Truth Micaiah stands alone against 400 prophets, boldly proclaiming God's message despite opposition. His courage reminds us to stand firm in truth, even when it's unpopular. As Ephesians 6:14 encourages, "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist." Upholding truth requires conviction and courage, but it is always worth it. πŸ‘‰The Sovereignty of God Despite Ahab's attempts to disguise himself in battle, God's Will PREVAILS. Trusting in God's ultimate control brings peace and assurance. πŸ‘‰The Consequences of Disobedience Ahab's refusal to heed God's warning leads to his downfall. His story is a sobering reminder that disobedience to God carries consequences. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Choosing obedience leads to life and blessing. πŸ‘‰The Power of Prayer When faced with challenges, turning to God in prayer invites His intervention. "The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail" (James 5:16). Prayer is our lifeline to divine strength and guidance. THIS MUCH WAS DEMONSTRATED IN DAVID'S LIFE. πŸ‘‰The Value of Humility Jehoshaphat's willingness to seek God's guidance reflects a humble heart. Humility opens the door to God's wisdom and favor. "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you" (James 4:10). Embracing humility allows us to receive God's grace and direction. It was what God saw in David that made HIM picked him above his elder brothers. David always humbly seek God's Will in any endeavour. πŸ‘‰The Danger of Pride Ahab's pride blinds him to the truth, leading to his demise. Pride can cloud our judgment and separate us from God's wisdom. "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). Recognizing and overcoming pride is essential for spiritual growth. πŸ‘‰The Role of Accountability Jehoshaphat's alliance with Ahab brings unintended consequences, highlighting the importance of accountability in our relationships. David's associates were those that share in his faith in God. Surrounding ourselves with godly influences helps us stay on the right path. "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17). Accountability strengthens our walk with God. πŸ‘‰The Faithfulness of God Despite human failings, God's faithfulness remains constant. He fulfills His word through Micaiah, demonstrating His unwavering commitment to truth and justice. "Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His covenant of loving devotion for a thousand generations" (Deuteronomy 7:9).     THE RANDOM ARROW AND DAVID'S STONE...THE GREATEST WISDOM IS SEEKING GOD'S COUNSEL IN OUR LIFE'S AFFAIRS (PART TWO)
    I assured us,we yet have more to look into as we studied how God guided an off mark arrow to kill crafty and wicked king Ahab,and how God guided David's stone to hit Goliath's forehead despite his protective headgear.
    We also learnt to choose our associations wisely, through the near death experience of Jehoshaphat, because of his alliance with Ahab, despite Ahab's ungodliness. Ahab, whom Jehoshaphat took as a brother king almost wickedly sent him to an early grave.
    NOW, LET'S CLINICALLY LOOK AT DAVID'S STONE...THE SINGLE STONE THAT BROUGHT GIANT GOLIATH DOWN.[1Sam.17:40-54]
    God can use anything and anyone to fulfill His Purpose.
    David was a mere shepherd boy,caring for his father's sheep in the bush. While he cared for the sheep,he NEVER forgot his God and spending quality time in His Presence. INFACT,MOST OF HIS PSALMS WERE WRITTEN DURING THIS PERIOD. LITTLE DID HE KNOW THAT GOD WAS PREPARING HIM.
    When God was satisfied with his response to HIS TRAINING, HE brought him out to challenge and kill Goliath,to rid Israel off the ridicule of the Philistines. This is significance of the fight.
    Then David reached into his bag.
    David's action of reaching into his bag signifies preparation and faith. He had previously selected five smooth stones from a brook, demonstrating his reliance on God rather than conventional weapons. This act reflects the biblical principle of using what God has provided, as seen in the story of Moses and his staff (Exodus 4:2-4).
    And took out a stone
    The stone represents the seemingly insignificant tools God uses to achieve His purposes. In Biblical times, stones were common weapons for shepherds, highlighting David's background and experience.     Goliath's fall facedown is significant, as it mirrors the posture of submission and defeat. In ancient Near Eastern culture, falling facedown was a sign of humiliation and surrender.     FEAR GOD THE RANDOM ARROW THAT KILLED AHAB AND THE STONE THAT KILLED GOLIATH!
    Oftentimes,we push God to a point where He has to decisively act to serve as a deterrent to others on the same lane.
    God was very patient with Ahab,giving him many a room of repentance, especially after Jezebel's death,but he NEVER heeded any. Indeed,at a point, God suspended a judgement meant for him, and promised it only come after his death.AND SELFISH AHAB WAS GLAD THAT HIS OFFSPRINGS WILL BE THE ONES TO BEAR THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS OWN DISOBEDIENCE.
    Until God could stomach him no more. Paul warns that it's a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of God...none can rescue from His Hand. BUT JUST LIKE MANY OF US TODAY, AHAB TOOK GOD'S LOVE AND TOLERANCE OF US FOR GRANTED. AND HIS FATE WAS SEALED.
    Enter Jehoshaphat ,the king of Judah. Ahab,king of Israel invited him to join him in fighting the Syrians. Jehoshaphat who was a God fearing King,agrees to join forces with evil Ahab. WE SHOULD MIND WHO WE ASSOCIATE WITH... UNHOLY ALLIANCES UNDER ANY INTERPRETATION IS WRONG AND DANGEROUS.
    And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. (1Ki 22: 4)
    Not only was Jehoshaphat a friend to one who despise God by his wickedness and idol worship, but he that was humble enough to seek God's Will on the situation and got it raw from Prophet Michaiah,yet he disobeyed God to please man. Truly,we must be very mindful of our associations...evil communication corrupt good manners...WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND?
    The most painful of all is his(Jehoshaphat) foolishness in not discerning that something was off the mark,when Ahab craftily purged him to dress like a king,while he, Ahab will dress like an ordinary charioteer. I don't really know what made him took that security risk.
    31. But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.
    32. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out. (1Ki 22: 31-32)
    If it wasn't for God's intervention,mere crying out wouldn't have saved him, for he was the only one dressed like a king. But God in His Infinite Mercies caused the archers to believe him and withdrew. Otherwise,he would have died Ahab's death. YOU WILL NOT DIE ANOTHER PERSON'S DEATH IN CHRIST JESUS' NAME AMEN!
    However, Ahab thought he was crafty and has evaded death. HE CERTAINLY UNDERESTIMATED GOD.
    Look the phrase,*a certain man drew his bow without taking special aim,* in the following verse. It seems the archers were disillusioned at the report they will give to their king that pursued a wrong person, and perhaps Ahab has escaped or wasn't in the battle. And so,one of them dejectedly shot an arrow randomly without a clear target. BUT,IT WAS GOD AT WORK,AND HE GUIDED THE RANDOMLY SHOT ARROW TO AHAB'S CHARIOT AND HIT HIM.
    THIS IS IN MUCH THE SAME WAY,HE GUIDED DAVID'S STONE TO GOLIATH'S FOREHEAD. DO YOU REALLY THINK A STONE FLUNG ON A SLING CAN ON ITS OWN BRING DOWN A GIANT LIKE GOLIATH? IT WAS GOD AT WORK. MAY GOD BE AT WORK FOR YOU IN EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS' NAME AMEN!
    This phrase highlights the sovereignty of God in the unfolding events. The "certain man" is unnamed, emphasizing that God can use anyone to fulfill His purposes. The lack of "special aim" suggests that the outcome was not due to human skill but divine intervention. This aligns with the biblical theme that God directs the course of history, as seen in Proverbs 16:33, which states, "The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord."
    The arrow struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armour... Ahab's armour, a ruler known for his idolatry and opposition to God's prophets. The phrase "between the joints of his armor" indicates a precise and vulnerable spot, suggesting that despite human defenses, God's Will prevails. This incident fulfills the prophecy given by Michaiah earlier in the chapter (1 Kings 22:17-28).
    Ahab was warned of his impending doom. The armour, meant for protection, could not prevent God's judgment, illustrating the futility of resisting Divine Will.
    So the king said to his charioteer, “Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am badly wounded!”
    Ahab's command to his charioteer reflects his realization of the severity of his injury. The urgency in his words underscores the fulfillment of Michaiah's prophecy and the inevitability of God's judgment. Historically, chariots were a significant part of ancient warfare, and the king's reliance on his charioteer shows the importance of such roles. Ahab's attempt to retreat from the battle signifies a moment of human vulnerability and the limits of earthly power. This scene foreshadows the ultimate defeat of those who oppose God's plans, as seen in the broader narrative of Scripture, where God's purposes are always accomplished despite human resistance.
    The king of Israel was known for his idolatry and opposition to the prophets of God. His reign is marked by conflict with the prophet Elijah and alliances with pagan nations.
    A soldier in the Aramean army who, without specific intent, shot the arrow that mortally wounded King Ahab.
    Jehoshaphat, King of Judah
    Allied with Ahab in this battle, he was a king who generally followed the ways of the Lord but made questionable alliances.
    Despite human plans and strategies, God's will prevails. Ahab's attempt to disguise himself in battle could not prevent God's judgment.
    The prophecy concerning Ahab's death was fulfilled precisely as spoken by the prophet Micaiah, demonstrating the reliability of God's word.
    Ahab's life and reign were marked by disobedience to God, leading to his downfall. This serves as a warning about the consequences of turning away from God's commands.
    The seemingly random shot by the archer was guided by divine providence, showing that God can use any means to accomplish His purposes.
    Jehoshaphat's alliance with Ahab, despite Ahab's ungodliness, serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of choosing alliances wisely.
    We will be back for more on this !
Ahab,king of Israel invited him to join him in fighting the Syrians. Jehoshaphat who was a God fearing King,agrees to join forces with evil Ahab. WE SHOULD MIND WHO WE ASSOCIATE WITH... UNHOLY ALLIANCES UNDER ANY INTERPRETATION IS WRONG AND DANGEROUS. And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. (1Ki 22: 4) Not only was Jehoshaphat a friend to one who despise God by his wickedness and idol worship, but he that was humble enough to seek God's Will on the situation and got it raw from Prophet Michaiah,yet he disobeyed God to please man. Truly,we must be very mindful of our associations...evil communication corrupt good manners...WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND? The most painful of all is his(Jehoshaphat) foolishness in not discerning that something was off the mark,when Ahab craftily purged him to dress like a king,while he, Ahab will dress like an ordinary charioteer. I don't really know what made him took that security risk. 31. But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel. 32. And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out. (1Ki 22: 31-32) If it wasn't for God's intervention,mere crying out wouldn't have saved him, for he was the only one dressed like a king. But God in His Infinite Mercies caused the archers to believe him and withdrew. Otherwise,he would have died Ahab's death. YOU WILL NOT DIE ANOTHER PERSON'S DEATH IN CHRIST JESUS' NAME AMEN! However, Ahab thought he was crafty and has evaded death. HE CERTAINLY UNDERESTIMATED GOD. Look the phrase,*a certain man drew his bow without taking special aim,* in the following verse. It seems the archers were disillusioned at the report they will give to their king that pursued a wrong person, and perhaps Ahab has escaped or wasn't in the battle. And so,one of them dejectedly shot an arrow randomly without a clear target. BUT,IT WAS GOD AT WORK,AND HE GUIDED THE RANDOMLY SHOT ARROW TO AHAB'S CHARIOT AND HIT HIM. THIS IS IN MUCH THE SAME WAY,HE GUIDED DAVID'S STONE TO GOLIATH'S FOREHEAD. DO YOU REALLY THINK A STONE FLUNG ON A SLING CAN ON ITS OWN BRING DOWN A GIANT LIKE GOLIATH? IT WAS GOD AT WORK. MAY GOD BE AT WORK FOR YOU IN EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS' NAME AMEN! This phrase highlights the sovereignty of God in the unfolding events. The "certain man" is unnamed, emphasizing that God can use anyone to fulfill His purposes. The lack of "special aim" suggests that the outcome was not due to human skill but divine intervention. This aligns with the biblical theme that God directs the course of history, as seen in Proverbs 16:33, which states, "The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord." The arrow struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armour... Ahab's armour, a ruler known for his idolatry and opposition to God's prophets. The phrase "between the joints of his armor" indicates a precise and vulnerable spot, suggesting that despite human defenses, God's Will prevails. This incident fulfills the prophecy given by Michaiah earlier in the chapter (1 Kings 22:17-28). Ahab was warned of his impending doom. The armour, meant for protection, could not prevent God's judgment, illustrating the futility of resisting Divine Will. So the king said to his charioteer, “Turn around and take me out of the battle, for I am badly wounded!” Ahab's command to his charioteer reflects his realization of the severity of his injury. The urgency in his words underscores the fulfillment of Michaiah's prophecy and the inevitability of God's judgment. Historically, chariots were a significant part of ancient warfare, and the king's reliance on his charioteer shows the importance of such roles. Ahab's attempt to retreat from the battle signifies a moment of human vulnerability and the limits of earthly power. This scene foreshadows the ultimate defeat of those who oppose God's plans, as seen in the broader narrative of Scripture, where God's purposes are always accomplished despite human resistance. The king of Israel was known for his idolatry and opposition to the prophets of God. His reign is marked by conflict with the prophet Elijah and alliances with pagan nations. A soldier in the Aramean army who, without specific intent, shot the arrow that mortally wounded King Ahab. Jehoshaphat, King of Judah Allied with Ahab in this battle, he was a king who generally followed the ways of the Lord but made questionable alliances. Despite human plans and strategies, God's will prevails. Ahab's attempt to disguise himself in battle could not prevent God's judgment. The prophecy concerning Ahab's death was fulfilled precisely as spoken by the prophet Micaiah, demonstrating the reliability of God's word. Ahab's life and reign were marked by disobedience to God, leading to his downfall. This serves as a warning about the consequences of turning away from God's commands. The seemingly random shot by the archer was guided by divine providence, showing that God can use any means to accomplish His purposes. Jehoshaphat's alliance with Ahab, despite Ahab's ungodliness, serves as a cautionary tale about the importance of choosing alliances wisely. We will be back for more on this πŸ™‡πŸ™!
