Fun first day traveling up to Ella in the mountains and visiting a tea plantation to see how the pick and process the world famous Ceylon teas.

Then a nice dinner and walk around town before an early night, as we have some early morning adventurers to do tomorrow!

I did a test run on SoMee's new #video platform. I'll detail that experience in my next post.

When we visited #BryceCanyon, rather than paying to get into the #NationalPark we scouted around to see what we could for free. Just East of the Canyon right at its base is the city of #Tropic in #Utah. This clip was taken going back West on #StateHWY12 towards Bryce Canyon.

We didn't stop to check out #MossyCAve, but it looked like something we might want to check out in the future. The #geology around the #cave looked as interesting as the cave itself.

This is a test post to see what the new #SoMeeVideo platform has to offer. My next post will be to recommend features that may be missing and will be needed for a seemless experience using #SoMee.

Well, my car broke down last week and it isn't worth fixing. It was high time for a new one anyway and AlphaHippie did a great job finding me a new one. This was the reason for the road trip he's been posting about. We wanted to take it out for a long drive to make sure the previous owner didn't throw some band-aids over big fixes to sell it.

When at #LakeIcaria a few days ago it felt like I was on an early #FallColorTour for a minute. We traveled to every access around the lake to see what it had to offer. It's a quaint little #reservoir with plenty of options for the locals, but not much worth a long drive. It does have a couple #campgrounds and a few huge cottages to rent though.

We took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to go on a #roadtrip and do some recon. The goal was to find a new body of water for #boating this coming summer. While we didn't achieve our goal, the results were useful. We had a great day and won't waste our time pulling the boat to #LakeIcaria in #Iowa. It's definitely too small for us.

Today my daydreams brought me back to the #BurningCoalVein. A few hours after taking this photo I saw movement in the area I labeled '#deer' and took out my binculars to see what was going on. It was dusk, so the sun was fading and it took me a minute to get things focused in, but when I did, I saw a deer.

At first I thought it was a group of deer, but soon noticed that there were two #coyotes chasing him. I felt honored to be witnessing something you normally only see on a #documentary.

I've mentioned before that the great #BlueHeron is among my favorite birds. Here I caught him just as he was landing in a tree trying to lose me. I was snapping away as he was flying from the other side of the lake, but none of those turned out. This one isn't great, but it'll do. I love watching these graceful birds fly, because they move so elegantly.

As I promised yesterday, here's #HighFalls on the #BaptismRiver in #Minnesota. I have all kinds of shots to share with you all for this #waterfall and even some video, which I'll convert into gifs. It was only two miles to get here from the #trailhead and there are others upstream, but the trail was closed at this point when I was there. The trail also connects to the #SuperiorCrest trail, which pretty much follows #LakeSuperior along the shoreline through all of Minnesota.

One of the destinations on our #FallColorTour in #Minnesota was #TettegoucheStatePark, which doubles as a #RestStop. It sits along the shore of #LakeSuperior and has many miles of #trails for #hiking, #Skiing, #snowmobiling and includes the highest #waterfalls within the Minnesota border.

I did hike out to the falls, which I'll be sharing later. This is a shot of the #BaptismRiver where it meets Lake Superior. You can get right down in there, which I did the first time we visited.

Here's another shot from #ChimneyRock to give you a bit more of the #history here. Like I mentioned in a previous post, this was a main #landmark used to help guide the #pioneers back in the early days of the U.S.

This is a huge piece of the history from before and after expanding our claims to the far West. The pioneers went through hardships we can only imagine. I really wish we worked with the #NativeAmerican, rather than exploiting them.

Here's another mini clip of my #RiverRafting trip down the #RioGrandeRiver in #NewMexico. The water was at near record levels, so normally going under this bridge doesn't require you to do anything special. At this time though, we had to hug the boat, because of those bolts sticking down as we went under.

A little while back I showed you a selfie of me standing in front #ChimneyRock. I just found some video of us driving to it and decided to share, so you could see the landscape around it. Chimney Rock is in the #NebraskaPanhandle on the far West side of the state.

This was a nice secluded free camping spot at one of the #PierMarquetteRiver public accesses in #Michigan. If you're an avid car or RV camper, I strongly suggest you get a tripod to cook with and always use a grill mat. The tripod allows you to cook wherever there's a fire and gives you the ability to change the height of the food to control the cooking temperature.

The #grillmats keep your food from burning, falling through the grate and allows the juices to collect, which keeps your meat nice and juicy. Plus you have a ready made gravy or a topping for the dogs food. We don't cook without one these days.
