• The #HelloSoMee group is slowly growing and some pretty large stakes have joined. I appreciate those of you who have shown your commitment to help #SoMee grow by supporting #NewUsers as they join the site and introduce themselves. My plan is to open up the group to #Introductions and hosting a #HelloSoMeeBannerDesignContest when we have 100 members.

As we get close to that number, I'll start posting some ideas for how to point new users towards the group, the best way to acknowledge them and ways to support them beyond the group. Thank you wieger for your efforts towards the same goal through the hashtag you've created. I'll be promoting the use of that as well.

Please join the group with the intention of supporting new users as you see them in your Home Feed to help improve #UserRetention and help to build the #SoMeeCommunity. We need active users, not just new accounts.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~How Much is a Vote Worth?

The value of your vote is determined by the amount of #SME you have staked, the stake of the SoMeean you are upvoting and how active both of you are on #SoMee. This of course is simplified, but it'll give you a good enough idea. Your activity on SoMee is called #Gravity.

Right now with the current stake amount in votes being used, a typical vote is worth on average 1 SME per 5700 SME staked or #SMEP. I came to this amount by watching the #votes of 4 different accounts that I have access to their information, like the #VoteStrength, SME Power(SMEP) they have and #VotePower they had when voting. Then I checked the SME value of the posts before and after the votes. Using some basic math, the range was between 5300-6100 SMEP per 1 SME of value per vote.

This is only valid as of this moment with the number of users and amount of staked SME in use on average. The amount will change as we grow, which I'll explain in another SoMee User Tip.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~The 4th and Most Important Reason to Visit the #Forums Section~ #ForumStatistics

This section is where you'll see the total number of #Threads, Replies to the threads and members. While this is labeled Forum Statistics, I believe the #Members total is for the site as a whole since the beginning. So, this does not represent the total number of accounts using the current iteration of #SoMee.

I signed up in the very beginning and received an email to check out the new site. This means SoMee has retained/saved the accounts of all the users who have ever signed up and is contacting them through email in an attempt bring them back. I had my account waiting for me. All I had to do was change my password.

That being said, if you use the current number and compare it to the new total daily, weekly, monthly or any time period you want, you can keep track of the new account numbers being created currently. For those of us wanting to see SoMee succeed, this statistic is the most important one to gauge our growth. For example- last week we saw 102 new accounts created. Couple this with the 'Who's Online" widget and we can watch SoMee grow before our eyes.

  • Please Read~ Once the Masses Come, How Do We Make Sure They Stay? We the SoMee Community Are the Key to User Retention.

One of the key aspects of #decentralization is that there's no one person in charge. All the users have an ability at many different levels to get involved and make a difference. So, while I see that the #SoMeeCompany is concentrating mostly on site #development and #onboarding some big names, it leaves open some critical areas that need attention. It is in these areas where we as a #community not only can, but really need to step up to ensure SoMee becomes a success.

What happens when the Company successfully onboards a huge #influencer (as they call them), the influencer recommends #SoMee and a bunch of new users sign up? The bulk of our success is going to be the numbers these influencers bring here, not the influencers themselves. So, #onboarding some big names is just the smallest step on the ladder to success. We'll need to find a way to retain these new users.

The beauty of gamified #BlockchainSocials where you earn through likes, those likes are highly sought after. That means we can use our attention through #interaction and our #stake through likes to make sure new users feel seen, heard and appreciated once they get started. They'll also need help to get started and we can offer them a hand.

On Hive this is done through #CurationAccounts, where community minded users keep their eyes out for new or underappreciated accounts producing quality content and going out of their way to help them find an audience, build a stake and make them feel appreciated. Having joined Hive when it was Steemit back in 2016, I've watch these #Communities start out and grow.

They've become an essential part of #Hive, because they not only work, but are highly effective. I would like to ask for your help to bring some of these tried-and-true ways to retain the users who come in, so that user accounts don't simply grow, but that the number of #ActiveUsers increase much faster than they would if it were just the Wild Wild West out there.

For my first act I created a new #Group called Hello SoMee. The purpose of this group is to be a place where anyone, but especially new users can post an #introduction and get support from the #community right out of the gate. For this to happen we need to get as many current SoMeetians to join as possible.

Joining a group is the equivalent of friending another user, so the posts show up in our #Homefeeds. Then we need to keep our eyes peeled for #NewUsers, so we can direct them there, where there will be instructions for creating an effective introduction, with the hopes that their first post will not only be successful, but up to a specific standard as well.

I ask everyone to please follow the link to or find the Hello SoMee group to join up and even share this post. When you see a new account adding their profile picture and/or account banner, hit the love emoji on their post and give them a nudge towards the group.

Simply dropping the link and letting them know this is the place they want to be if they would like to grow and earn right off the bat. Thank you and I look forward to working everyone on SoMee. Its success depends on us, so we need to get things ready for when the big numbers arrive.

The Banner and avatar are temporary. If this project goes anywhere, I'll probably hold a design contest for more representative ones. Also, I truly did try to keep this short, but just couldn't. I'm a lover of details and wanted to get the full thought across.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~The Importance of Interaction

If you want to #succeed on any #SocialMediaPlatform, you need to give to get. If you want to be seen, you must look for and see others. If you want interaction, you must interact. If you want upvotes, you need to give upvotes. You'll usually receive a few regardless, but they will be temporary, and the post won't earn to its potential.

Just like in real-life, when you are new, if you want to meet people you need to greet people. It's rare, especially in large communities that a new person adding themselves into the mix is seen or acknowledged. There's already a routine in place, cliques, niches and #VotingCircles who are happy with their group and don't need a change to be fulfilled.

If you want in, you need to sell yourself. On #SoMee the way to do that is to post, Add Friend/follow, upvote and comment. So first, you must post. Your posts need to be original, of decent quality and should be informative. People like to see places they've never been to and learn something new. The key is that whatever you post should offer some sort of relevant information. If you aren't offering any real information, then many will just scroll past.

That's minor though compared to upvoting others and commenting on other's posts. This is because through these two types of interactions your username and a direct link to you is delivered right into their notifications. The same goes for follows and Friends requests, but they are not viewed the same.

The key is to make these interactions meaningful, so you stand out. Don't just Friend or follow to go through the motions. You should at least visit their profile and upvote a post first. This implies you have enjoyed their content and are not just wanting a shallow follow back. The #Follow4Follow method will increase your follower numbers but is unlikely to return upvotes.

When you upvote something, the best thing you can do is add a quality thoughtful comment that is on topic. Again, this shows you've actually read and enjoyed the content. It also solicits a return comment, which helps to solidify you in their memory. And... ALWAYS reply to any comment left on your content or relevant reply to your comments. If a user doesn't reply, then they aren't deserving of you.

You should never comment with something vague or shallow and never just spam the same or similar comment on everyone's posts down the feed. This will probably earn you a block. Being real is the most important thing you can do.

Since our voting power is limited, everyone must serve out their votes carefully. So, as a new user, unless you follow this advice, you're unlikely to get substantial votes simply by posting content. Not only do you need to make yourself seen, but you need to support others with your upvotes as well. If you aren't giving love, you probably won't receive any in return.

It's very important to interact with intent and sincerity. Do so often and you'll be welcomed into the community. Once you are welcomed in, you'll become a success in no time.

You need to prove yourself and work your way in. This is relevant for #NewUsers and longtime users equally. If you've been here a while and aren't receiving the interaction you think you deserve, you need to review what you are doing and change it up.

I hope you find this information helpful. If so, make sure to LIKE this page and visit https://awesme.blog for more in-depth tutorials, tips and more!
