The Gold Rush refers to a period of intense migration and exploration that occurred in the mid-1800s, primarily in California, United States, but also in other parts of the world such as Australia, Canada, and South Africa. It was characterized by a frenzy of individuals seeking to find gold and strike it rich.
The California Gold Rush, which began in 1848, was sparked by the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California. News of the gold discovery spread rapidly, attracting people from all walks of life to the region in hopes of finding their fortune. These individuals, known as "forty-niners," included miners, entrepreneurs, and even families, who left behind their homes and traveled long distances to join the gold rush.
The allure of quick riches and the promise of a better life led to a massive influx of people into California. The population of the state exploded, with tens of thousands of fortune seekers arriving by land and sea. The journey was often treacherous and challenging, with many facing arduous travel conditions and hardships along the way.
Once in California, miners used various methods to extract gold from the rivers and streams. Initially, they relied on basic tools such as pans, picks, and shovels to manually search for gold nuggets and flakes in the riverbeds. As the gold rush progressed, more sophisticated techniques were employed, including hydraulic mining, which involved using powerful water cannons to wash away hillsides and extract gold-bearing gravel.
The gold rush had a significant impact on California's economy and society. Towns sprang up overnight, turning remote areas into bustling communities. San Francisco, in particular, experienced rapid growth as it served as a major supply hub and gateway to the gold fields. Businesses catering to the needs of the miners flourished, including merchants, saloons, hotels, and transportation services.
The gold rush also brought significant social and cultural changes. People from diverse backgrounds and countries flocked to California, creating a multicultural and cosmopolitan society. Chinese immigrants played a crucial role in the gold rush, contributing to mining operations and establishing their communities.
While the gold rush did bring wealth to some fortunate individuals, the reality was that the majority of prospectors did not strike it rich. The competition for gold was fierce, and the easily accessible deposits were quickly exhausted. Many miners faced disappointment and financial hardships, while others turned to other industries, such as agriculture, trade, and manufacturing, to make a living.
Despite the challenges and uncertainties, the gold rush left a lasting legacy. It played a significant role in the development and settlement of California and other regions. It spurred infrastructure projects, such as the construction of roads, bridges, and railroads, and contributed to the growth of commerce and industry.
Moreover, the gold rush sparked technological advancements in mining techniques and equipment. It also fueled the development of financial institutions and investment practices, as people sought ways to finance their mining ventures and handle the newfound wealth.
The gold rush remains an iconic event in history, symbolizing the pursuit of dreams, the spirit of adventure, and the allure of untapped riches. It continues to capture the imagination and serves as a reminder of the human drive for exploration and discovery. #someeofficial #gold #silver #cine #neoxian #oneup

My entry for the third edition of week 65 engagement which is based on social networks. My acknowledgement goes to the management and every participants for being active on this platform.
One of the greatest assets I know is the gift of friends in fact good friends. Since I have grown to this extent, is not every one that I regard as a friend. The big question is who are my friends?
My friend is someone who is sacrificial, patient, loving and caring that is ready to give all for me. My friend sticks closer than my brother. My friend is the reflection of my kind of personality. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
The league of my friends tells a lot about me. There is a saying that says show me your friends and I will tell you who you're. That simply means your network of friends is the reflection of who you are.
Recently we have a community of friends that we called like-minded. In this kind of group consists of different friends with different kinds of ideas, profession, skills, perception etc that congregate in order to proffer solutions to needs that confronts us. Since the emergence of this kind of network some of the life challenges has been tacked even though everything is not about money but having the right sense of understanding.
A network of like minded where you can freely share and discuss your challenges is a very important platform. It's not just about an individual but the it's about the general members of such group. Everyone is blessed with a gift or talent that can add value to someone else.
Will my network have my back when times are bad? Yes of course. I have been there and I still remain there reaping the benefits of true friendship.
I could remember vividly when i was preparing for my wedding hmmm that's when I knew that there is power in having league of friends.
My friends teamed up to a reasonable number, met and discussed how they can step in for the success of my wedding. I was thinking I was just dreaming not knowing it was reality in display. A month to the wedding, I started receiving some heavy alerts in my cellphone. I was shocked to my bones over such act of benevolence.
I thought is just all about contribution of resources for the success of the wedding but I realised something Wow the day of the main event of the wedding. Early in the morning as we were preparing to step out to church behold everywhere was littered with my friends in their uniforms which gladdened my heart and added a very good colour to the wedding.
    LESSONS

Before you maintain any network of friends, kindly identify your life's goal. Your goal or purpose on earth determine the kind of friends you'll keep. Vision, purpose and mission is very important.
Don't be in a rush to pull friends just in the name of having network but allow time to define certain things.
Your kind of network of friends is the function of who you are. Therefore be very careful in choice and association.
Some friends are source of inspiration.
    CONCLUSION
One of the outstanding thing in my life today is my best man during my wedding. I call him shock absorber and twin brother simply because he's a true definition of friend. He patiently bore all my weaknesses and projected it as strength hence today, I am better and always on the improving side.

thanks for visiting my blog and all the comments appreciated.

  • Life is a journey full of ups and downs, and often we find ourselves in situations that generate uncertainty, anguish and discouragement. In moments like these, the phrase "Keep persevering and good luck will find you" becomes a mantra that drives us forward, focusing on our goals, and maintaining a positive attitude towards life.
The truth is, even when we try our hardest, things don't always go as we hope, and we may ask ourselves if it's really worth continuing to persist. But we must keep in mind that perseverance is a valuable virtue that allows us to overcome the obstacles that arise in our path and helps us achieve our goals.

In fact, perseverance and luck are closely related. While we cannot control everything that happens around us, we can control our attitude and our perseverance. And even though it may seem like everything is against us, good luck can appear at any moment, just when we least expect it.
That's why it's important to maintain a positive attitude towards life, focusing on what really matters, leaving aside what distracts us, and working hard to achieve our goals. And when difficult times come, do not lose faith, remember that good luck smiles upon those who persevere, so keep moving forward, always with the encouragement and motivation needed to not give up.

In summary, "Keep persevering and good luck will find you" is not just a motivational phrase, it's a way of life. A philosophy that drives us forward, gives us faith in ourselves, and inspires us to work hard to achieve our goals. So, if at any point you feel that everything is against you, remember that perseverance and luck often go hand in hand, and even if you don't believe it, the best could be yet to come. Keep your chin up and good luck!

    Happy 125th Independence Day!
This blogging contest for June initiated by @hiveph reminds me of my years of stay in South Korea, from 2012 to 2016. During my four years of stay there, I remember a day when I participated in a lecture in Seoul sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation. That was on 26 May 2014.
The topic in that lecture was Freedom Barometer in Asia. The speaker emphasized that political freedom, the rule of law, and economic freedom are the three aspects of freedom that are discussed in contemporary discourse. I learned then that there are ten variables utilized to assess the freedom status of countries in Asia. At that time, the Philippines ranked eighth out of seventeen countries.
Preparing this piece, I visited the site where I got that information before, but the links are all dead. I am curious to know the current freedom status of the country after nine years. This is an inescapable reality in the cyber world. What you think about content that will stay on the web will soon disappear without you knowing it. And this is what I like about blockchain technology. Whatever you put on the chain will be there no matter what. Such a stable feature of this cutting-edge technology is somehow comforting, but at the same should make us extra cautious in creating content. You cannot remove it; it will stay there even after decades that you’re no longer here on this side of life.
Among the ten variables, access to sound money is a key component of economic freedom. This caught my attention. I was a gold bug then. I saw that sound money as defined by Jorg Guido Hulsman and Thorstein Polleit of the Mises Institute is a vital aspect of economic freedom.
However, my view changed after encountering blockchain and cryptocurrency in August of 2021. For so long, since the 2008 crash of the housing market, I have been looking for an alternative monetary system, and I thought that the return to The Gold Standard is the only way.
Just two months ago, that was 09 April this year, Milan Stanojevic published his opinion on bitcoinmagazine.com about the possibility that the move of the BRICS nations to return to The Gold Standard can usher into the hyperbitcoinization of the world. I am not sure if you agree with his opinion or not, but that’s how he sees the current trend in geopolitics and macroeconomics.
Returning to my independence topic, I think it is not inappropriate for us Filipinos to be reminded by none other than our national hero himself saying that economic freedom is essential for complete independence. In other words, political and cultural freedom are not enough. They could be illusory and can give us a shadow of independence.
In commemorating the 125th Independence Day of the Philippines, I hope and pray that an increasing number of the younger generation in the country will come to realize the correlation between freedom and an alternative monetary system. If returning to the Gold Standard is not the way to achieve it, then how about the option provided by blockchain and cryptocurrency? We have been learning here on Hive that the platform can provide what we badly need that can give substance to our understanding of economic freedom.
Responding to the question about the importance of independence, yes, I do believe that independence is very important. However, in the digital world where the reality of globalization is at anyone’s fingertip, I think we are not far from the truth if we will begin to embrace this idea of a digital nation. And the number one threat to this new kind of freedom and independence is no longer a powerful nation, but those who posture themselves that they know better than us what we are supposed to do not only in our social media interaction but also in our financial transactions. This to me is the new battlefield in our time.
    Grace and peace!

  • Intermodal terminal

I've always wondered what a machine that transships cargo containers looks like up close.
I know that they are unloaded from cargo ships in ports with huge cranes, but which machine does the manipulation and loading onto trucks and trains.
It's #Reachstacker, a machine that weighs over 100 tons and can lift up to 45 tons.
When viewed from afar, it doesn't seem big, but when you get close to the wheels, you realize how big it really is.
Considering the size and weight, a large concrete plateau is needed on which Reachstacker move during manipulation.

When it comes to successful investors in the silver market, several notable individuals have made significant profits and gained recognition for their prowess in this precious metal. Here are a few examples:
Eric Sprott: Eric Sprott is a Canadian billionaire investor known for his successful investments in the resource sector, including silver. He has been a strong advocate for precious metals and has established himself as one of the leading silver investors. Sprott has consistently shown a keen understanding of market dynamics and has made strategic investments in silver mining companies and bullion, reaping substantial profits over the years.
Warren Buffett: Although primarily known as a stock market investor, Warren Buffett's investment firm, Berkshire Hathaway, has also made notable investments in silver. In the late 1990s, Buffett purchased over 100 million ounces of silver, believing that the metal was undervalued at the time. This move turned out to be lucrative as the price of silver rose significantly, allowing Berkshire Hathaway to realize substantial gains.
John Paulson: John Paulson is a hedge fund manager who gained recognition for his successful bet against the subprime mortgage market in the 2008 financial crisis. Paulson has also been an active investor in silver, believing in its potential as a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty. His firm, Paulson & Co., has invested in silver mining companies and has held substantial positions in silver exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Eric Mindich: Eric Mindich, founder of Eton Park Capital Management, is another notable investor who has made successful bets on silver. Mindich has demonstrated a deep understanding of global macroeconomic trends and has used silver as a means to diversify his portfolio and protect against inflation. His strategic investments in silver-related assets have generated substantial returns.
Carlos Slim: Carlos Slim, a Mexican business magnate and one of the world's wealthiest individuals, has recognized the value of silver as an investment. Through his conglomerate Grupo Carso, Slim has had significant investments in silver mining companies. His strategic approach to investing has contributed to his success in the silver market.
It's important to note that investing in silver, like any other investment, carries risks, and past success does not guarantee future performance. The silver market can be subject to fluctuations influenced by various factors such as global economic conditions, industrial demand, and investor sentiment.
Before investing in silver or any other asset, it's crucial to conduct thorough research, consider one's investment goals, and consult with a financial advisor who can provide personalized guidance based on individual circumstances.

  • Change in the US dollar dominance
We are at a convergence point where I just read that the dominance of the US dollar has diminished to 58% internationally. Something we can predict for sure is people have lost faith in the US dollar!
When you live artificially on credit to manage a government without controlling your spending.
    It is scary!
An individual who does not control it is spending and living on credit cards. The outcome will materialize in bankruptcy. It is important to always control your cash flow.
In the case of the US government, they just increase the debt ceiling and print again more money. They have privileges that they have abused and keep repeating.
    Global reputations
Don't blame other influential countries for trying to change the chessboard globally. It is always a question of prestige, power, and balance in the world order.
Nothing can remain the same forever and everything changes!
Countries like China, and Russia keep buying gold for preserving value because fiat money has a tendency to keep dropping. Even governments who have the US dollar as a reserve, lose purchasing power.
We know the US has a tendency to keep printing money for fixing every issue they have. During the covid pandemic, they have injected over 4 trillion dollars into the economy.
    Something needs to change
I believe the accumulation of gold by central banks is the best option on the table. This precious metal has proved to preserve wealth for over 5000 years in human history.
Until we mine gold in space...we need to bet on this asset to keep more money in our pockets. Maybe soon we are going to see central banks purchase assets like Bitcoin, and Ethereum to have value in their balance sheets.
Crypto offers a good alternative to the actual financial system. We are not there yet but it is something we can see appear in the next decade.
We are in a transitional state in the financial world. Nothing is permanent and change brings novelty and fresh air.
    Focus on central banks
I don't believe the Yuan will be the solution in the short and medium term as a global currency. An authoritarian regime that tries to control everything from individuals to freedom, companies.
I prefer Western values where you have the freedom to express, live, and breathe the way your want.
Banks will keep purchasing gold and make sure they have enough on their balance sheet. You cannot keep using the US dollar as a global currency. We have seen that the US just put more money into the circulation.
    Last word
The de-dollarization is a reality that we experience as we speak and is going to accentuate in the next 5 years. We have to bet on gold, crypto, and Bitcoin which is completely decentralized.
I don't know what the future might bring but we need to embrace this paradigm shift with an open mind. We have always the option to choose to invest in assets that keep their value.
To rely only on the US dollar is a reality we need to change and adapt.
Have a wonderful and blossoming day!
PS: It is only my personal opinion. I am not a financial advisor and always do my own research.

This is my entry for Hiveopenmic week 165. A cover titled how great thou art by @fasacity.
I chose this song because it really ministered to me and also synchronised with the theme for the week.
When I think about God's creatures, the birds, the seas etc I marvelled. His natural act is just amazing and awesome. I'm really in love with whatever God has done.
He doesn't make mistakes like human being.
Everything about Him is perfect and can't be questioned.
The best way I can respond to God's love for my life is to sing of his greatness, majesty, splendor etc. In fact I am part of the nature he has made therefore I ought to give him glory/victory he deserves.
God has given man the earth to dominate, multiply and take charge over everything. What you love is what you cherish. What you love is what you adore. What you love is what you exalt.
My voice is still a challenge but I am optimistic that consistency and persistence would pave way for me someone day therefore kindly drop constructive criticism to spur me and mould me to be better.
    Lyrics
O Lord my God, When I, in awesome wonder,
    Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
    Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Esta es mi entrada para la semana 165 de Hiveopenmic. Un cover titulado how great thou art de @fasacity.
    Considero todos los mundos que Tus Manos han hecho;
Veo las estrellas, Oigo los truenos,
Tu poder se despliega por todo el universo.
    Estribillo:
Entonces canta mi alma, Mi Dios Salvador, a Ti,
Qué grande eres, qué grande eres.
Entonces canta mi alma, mi Dios Salvador, a Ti,
