There is this island, one of the most isolated continental fragments adrift on the blue waters of the northwest Indian Ocean, A third of its flora and 90 percent of its reptiles are found no where else. The white dunes of the Yemeni island of Socotra.

In my opinion an image with a lone duck surrounded by only water is quite bland, but using the #3D feature of the #PhotoScapeX editor made a big difference. After the fact I thought about putting this one as an overlay over another image with tree branches around the edges. It would really spruce it up. Maybe next time? I'll start including the original images as well. It's quite amazing how far our tech has gone in just the last decade. I'm so glad I didn't get into #photography back when we had to develop the film. I'm also checking to see if SoMee converts the images to JPG or supports PNG with transparent backgrounds. In the preview it looks like it does support that. I found these little guys running all over the place down in #Florida. They are #BrownAnoles, which are not native to the U.S., but were introduced a few decades ago. They are now one of the most common lizards there. Their range only extends into #Georgia, but they are expected to continue to expand Northward over time. Their cousin the #GreenAnole is native to Florida, though. At first I though it was a #CommonHouseGecko, but the shape of the eyes and long slender toes are definitely not characteristic of one. However, in some areas, as part of their habitat has been destroyed, they have been forced to feed on anything to survive, with the negative consequences that this can entail.
