TOWARDS THE PERFECT MAN{JAMES 1;4}
TEMPTATION IS NOT A SIN. THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT HOLDS NO WATER,!
This is a short exhortation for those of us who blame the devil for our own lust.
When talking about what Satan doesn't want us to know about him,we mentioned this. Something embarrassing, really very embarrassing took place today,but I won't talk about it yet,as the facts aren't clear for now.
Let's be serious,if Satan was to be given a chance by God to defend himself,many of us believers (even titled skullcaps church leaders) would be awfully guilty.
I'm not excluding myself, but it does hurt and so shameful when Christians use the phrase*The devil made me do it!* Of course it isn't the devil...you(me) did it with our eyes open.
13. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14. But every man is tempted, when he is DRAWN AWAY OF HIS OWN LUST, AND ENTICED.
15. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (Jas 1: 13-15)
Remember we said that Satan always tries to pass himself of as God.He wants you to think that he is all powerful. But you remember that when Christ Jesus died upon that Cross, the Bible says that Satan was defeated? In fact, I love this verse.1 John 3:8 says: “For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might (notice) destroy the works of the devil.” So, when Christ Jesus died upon that Cross, HE defeated Satan. But not only did He defeat the devil, HE also disarmed the devil and his minions. In fact, we read in Colossians 2:15, “And having spoiled,” - and that word “spoiled” means “disarmed” - “having disarmed principalities and powers, He (that is Christ Jesus) made a show of them openly, and He triumphed over them.” So, here's what happened when Christ Jesus died upon that Cross: He stripped the devil and his minions(demons)of their authority. They have no more power over you. You see, [the devil] has been defeated. I mean, yes, we have been [set free], as children of God. Now we are free not only from the penalty of sin, but we're free from the power of sin. Satan has no more authority over your life. You have been set free from the power and the authority of the devil.
IT MEANS THAT THE DEVIL CAN'T’ MAKE YOU BELIEVE ANYTHING. HE CAN'T’ MAKE YOU DO ANYTHING, OK? All THAT HE CAN DO IS TEMPT YOU. AND REMEMBER, TEMPTATION IS NEVER SIN. IT'S A CHOICE WE MAKE TO EMBRACE THAT TEMPTATION [that] BECOMES SIN. But all that he can do is knock at the door of your heart. He can't open that door and barge in. He can't twist your arm and make you do what you will and don’t want to do. Why? Because he's been disarmed. He lost his power, and he lost his authority over you. You have been set free from the tyranny of the evil one. That's pretty good news. Agreed? In fact, we'll just take it a step farther and say it this way: You know? The devil can only do in your life what God permits him to do? Did you hear me? The devil doesn't have free rein over you. Why? Because of what Christ Jesus did upon the cross and our relationship with Him. You see, God limits what the devil can do in your life. You say, “How do you know that?” Well, remember the story in Job chapter one? God gives us one of those beautiful behind-the-scenes glimpse into the spiritual world. Remember, the Bible reminds us that Satan came into the presence of God. He asked God for permission to tempt Job, and God gave Satan permission. But He put certain limits on what Satan could and could not do.
Why, because God our Creator knows our limits. AND FOR GOD TO ALLOW SATAN COME CLOSE TO US, HE IS COUNTING ON US TO SHAME SATAN BY REMAINING STEADFAST, AND MIND YOU THERE'S A REWARD FOR IT AS WE SAW IN JOB
So,when you come crying*the devil made me do it,we are only trying to wrongly justify our actions and cast aspersions on our God... let's read James again;
13. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14. But every man is tempted, when he is DRAWN AWAY OF HIS OWN LUST, AND ENTICED.
You think the devil would let us go when we place ourselves as easy targets for him...of course not. When we deliberately go to places where we shouldn't be found. For instance, couples still courting in a private compromising position in the night alone.
Even a Christian worker signing 7:30 am when he actually got to the office by 9am, because he partied all night. We know so many ways we deliberately or probably ignorantly place ourselves in temptations way. When we fall... don't call Satan,he didn't do it,but CALL CHRIST JESUS FOR MERCY IMMEDIATELY, before satan makes a mincemeat of you and turn it into your culture.a
HEAVENLY FATHER,I PRAY FOR US TO YELLING SATAN MADE US DO IT WHEN WE GOOF, BUT RATHER TO ACCEPT OUR FAILURES AND COME KNOCKING ON THE DOOR OF YOUR MERCIES THAT FAILETH NOT,AND THE STRENGTH TO RESIST TEMPTATIONS OF WHATSOEVER KIND,AMEN
