  • SEC Is 'Out to Damage or Destroy' Crypto Industry in America: LBRY CEO
LBRY CEO Jeremy Kauffman called out the Securities and Exchange Commission at Messari’s Mainnet conference in New York this week, as the decentralized file-sharing network continues to navigate legal action from the regulator.
The SEC charged LBRY with selling unregistered securities in March of last year. The Commission alleged that the company raised $11 million through the sale of LBRY Credits, tokens that are used to upload files and make payments on the blockchain-based platform, before the LBRY network was built. The company disputes this claim and says no tokens were sold before the network was fully functional.
The SEC nevertheless viewed LBRY Credits as investment contracts, based on the notion that buyers believed they would reap profit from purchasing the tokens. Kauffman said the company has been “fighting the SEC for coming up on five years" and soon expects a federal judge to weigh in with a ruling on whether a full trial is necessary. The verdict will have far-reaching implications for other companies as well, according to him, setting some level of precedent for companies that have raised money for their projects through an initial coin offering or ICO.
“The facts in this case would basically apply to every company in this room,” Kauffman said. “The SEC has very much demonstrated that they are out to damage or destroy the cryptocurrency industry in the United States.”
Kauffman is currently on the ballot in New Hampshire, representing the Libertarian Party in a bid to be one of New Hampshire’s next U.S. senators. Kauffman believes that his file-sharing platform and libertarian ideology are somewhat aligned, in regards to how some feel about politics and social media. “People are tired," he declared, "of having these bureaucrats, these middlemen, making these decisions for them.”

  • Did you know it would take years and months for a sophisticated programmable computer to successfully decrypt a user's cryptographic private keys?
Private keys give a user control over his crypto wallet and it's only assigned to one wallet and a user.
What do you think might happen to your million-dollar worth of crypto in your wallet if you are dead?
Would you like to share your private key with a friend or family member or go beyond with your private keys for eternity?
Do have a lovely Sunday ahead.

  • Shiba Inu Launches ‘Burning Portal’ to Reward SHIB Token Holders (By Andrew Asmakov)
The team behind the popular meme coin Shiba Inu has launched a new burning mechanism designed to decrease the token’s circulating supply while rewarding holders with a yield-generating token.

The Shib Burning Portal went live over the weekend, with the team tweeting on Monday that over 8 billion tokens had already been burned in the first 24 hours.

Interesting.. So do any of you hold any of these meme coins? Did you gain profits during it's highs or you joined late but feel its ATH is yet to come?
The burn and passive income strategy sure puts SHIBA INU in a better position and maybe some might now take this meme coin abit more seriously in the likes of DOGE. Share your thoughts..

  • VISA & Samsung NFT News:
Visa Launches Program for NFT-focused Entrepreneurs
The initiative aims to help content creators “deepen their fluency in crypto commerce and traditional payments”
    https://blockworks.co/visa-launches-program-for-nft-focused-entrepreneurs/
The payment company is looking to select entrepreneurs working in art, music, fashion and film who currently, or plan to, incorporate NFTs (non-fungible tokens) into their business models.

Looks like everyone's jumping on the NFT bandwagon. Top corporate companies want to associate themselves with either NFTs or embrace crypto to seem relevant, adapt change and be part of the growing consumer demand. Here's an example and news:
Samsung Taps Nifty Gateway to create Smart TV NFT Platform
    https://decrypt.co/96410/samsung-taps-nifty-gateway-create-smart-tv-nft-platform
While many startups are building bespoke displays for NFTs, Samsung is adding NFT functionality to its smart TV sets, letting owners view and buy NFTs from the couch.
Times are changing and us as consumers have different interests, requirements and demand to that of 10 years ago. The approach is different and those who don't keep up with the trend, as a company or even as a person can feel left out. FOMO, Greed, Fear, all these terms are not just words in the Crypto land, but actual behaviours once you enter this digital world.
