There are three ways I structure my voting habits to make sure I'm earning as much as possible.

3. If I'm going to be on before and after work, I'll use 10% VP before I leave and 10% when I return. Then before I go to bed, I make sure to run my VP down to 90% again. If you are here to earn, the next best way to do so after posting quality content is to maximize your #VotingPower or #VP. There is a trick to this, because your VP is limited. You start off with 100% VP and each vote you make takes 2% away. Not only does it reduce your VP by 2%, but it reduces the value of your vote by the same. Your VP also regenerates at a rate of about 1.85% every two hours. Because of this regeneration, if you let your VP sit at 100% for any amount of time you are losing #PotentialEarnings.

Note: The more SME and Hive you have staked, the faster your VP regenerates as well.

Keeping your VP above 90% makes sure you are always giving as close to 100% of your vote's potential as consistently as possible and your VP regenerates at a faster rate than if you bring it below that amount.
