• Glimpse into the Future of Food

    Meryl Nass

Is your food making you sick?

Suddenly, the fact that food is making us sick, really sick, has gained a lot of attention.

When Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced he would suspend his presidential campaign and campaign for President Trump on August 23, both he and Trump spoke about the need to improve the food supply to regain America’s health.

The same week, Tucker Carlson interviewed the sister-brother team of Casey and Calley Means, coauthors of the #1 New York Times bestseller Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health. Their thesis, borne out by thousands of medical research studies, is that food can make us very healthy or very sick. The grocery store choices many Americans have made have led us to unprecedented levels of diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic and neurologic diseases that prematurely weaken and age us, our organs, and our arteries.

There is a whole lot wrong with our available food.

Chemical fertilizers have led to abusing the soil, and consequently, soils became depleted of micronutrients. Unsurprisingly, foods grown in them are now lacking those nutrients.

Pesticides and herbicides harm humans, as well as bugs and weeds.

Some experts say we need to take supplements now because we can’t get what we need from our foods anymore.

Subsidies for wheat, corn, and soybean exceed $5 billion annually in cash plus many other forms of support, exceeding $100 billion since 1995, resulting in vast overproduction and centralization.

We are practically living on overprocessed junk made of sugar, salt, wheat, and seed oils.

And that is just the start. The problem could have been predicted. Food companies grew bigger and bigger, until they achieved virtual monopolies. In order to compete, they had to use the cheapest ingredients. When the few companies left standing banded together, we got industry capture of the agencies that regulated their businesses, turning regulation on its head.

    Consolidation in the Meat Industry

Then the regulators issued rules that advantaged the big guys, and disadvantaged the small guys. But it was the small guys who were producing the highest quality food, in most cases. Most of them had to sell out and find something else to do. It simply became uneconomic to be a farmer.

The farmers and ranchers that were left often became the equivalent of serfs on their own land.

    Did you know:

“Ninety-seven percent of the chicken Americans eat is produced by a farmer under contract with a big chicken company. These chicken farmers are the last independent link in an otherwise completely vertically integrated, company-owned supply chain.”

“Corporate consolidation is at the root of many of the structural ills of our food system. When corporations have the ability to dictate terms to farmers, farmers lose. Corporations place the burden of financial liability on farmers, dictate details of far.”

” Corporations also consolidate ownership of the other steps of the supply chain that farmers depend on — inputs, processing, distribution, and marketing — leaving farmers few options but to deal with an entity against which they have effectively no voice or bargaining power.”

When profitability alone, whether assisted by policy or not, determines which companies succeed and which fail, cutting corners is a necessity for American businesses — unless you have a niche food business, or are able to sell directly to consumers. This simple fact inevitably led to a race to the bottom for quality.

Look at the world’s ten largest food companies. Their sales are enormous, but should we really be consuming their products?

Perhaps the regulators could have avoided the debasement of the food supply. But they didn’t.

And now it has become a truism that Americans have the worst diet in the world.

    Could food shortages be looming?

If it seems like the US, blessed with abundant natural resources, could never suffer a food shortage, think again. Did you know that while the US is the world’s largest food exporter, in 2023 the US imported more food than we exported?

Cows are under attack, allegedly because their belching methane contributes to climate change. Holland has said it must get rid of 30-50% of its cows. Ireland and Canada are also preparing to reduce the number of their cows, using the same justification.

In the US, the number of cows being raised has gradually lessened, so that now we have the same number of cows that were being raised in 1951 — but the population has increased by 125% since then. We have more than double the people, but the same number of cows. What!? Much of our beef comes from Brazil.

Pigs and chickens are now mostly raised indoors. Their industries are already consolidated to the max. But cows and other ungulates graze for most of their life, and so the beef industry has been unable to be consolidated in the same way.

But consolidation is happening instead in the slaughterhouses because you cannot process beef without a USDA inspector in a USDA-approved facility — and the number of these facilities has been dropping, as have the number of cows they can handle. Four companies now process over 80% of US beef. And that is how the ranchers are being squeezed.

Meanwhile, efforts are afoot to reduce available farmland for both planting crops and grazing animals. Bill Gates is now the #1 owner of US farmland, much of which lies fallow. Solar farms are covering land that used to grow crops — a practice recently outlawed in Italy. Plans are afoot to impose new restrictions on how land that is under conservation easements can be used.

    Brave New Food

That isn’t all. The World Economic Forum, along with many governments and multinational agencies, wants to redesign our food supply. So-called plant-based meats, lab-grown meats, “synbio” products, insect protein, and other totally new foods are to replace much of the real meat people enjoy — potentially leading to even greater consolidation of food production. This would allow “rewilding” of grazing areas, allowing them to return to their natural state and, it is claimed, this would be kinder to the planet. But would it?

Much of the land used for grazing is unsuitable for growing crops or for other purposes. The manure of the animals grazing on it replenishes soil nutrients and contributes to the soil microbiome and plant growth. “Rewilding” may in fact lead to the loss of what topsoil is there and desertification of many grazing areas.

Of course, transitioning the food supply to mostly foods coming from factories is a crazy idea, because how can you make a major change in what people eat and expect it to be good for them? What micronutrients are you missing? What will the new chemicals, or newly designed proteins, or even computer-designed DNA (that will inevitably be present in these novel foods) do to us over time? What will companies be feeding the insects they farm, when food production is governed by ever cheaper inputs?

It gets worse. Real food production, by gardeners and small farmers or homesteaders, is decentralized. It cannot be controlled. Until the last 150 years, almost everyone fed themselves from food they caught, gathered, or grew.

But if food comes mainly from factories, access can be cut off. Supply chains can break down. You can be priced out of buying it. Or it could make you sick, and it might take years or generations before the source of the problem is identified. How long has it taken us to figure out that overprocessed foods are a slow poison?

There are some very big problems brewing in the food realm. Whether we like it or not, powerful forces are moving us into the Great Reset, threatening our diet in new ways, ways that most of us never dreamed of.

    Identifying the Problems and Solutions

But we can get on top of what is happening, learn what we need to, and we can resist. That’s why Door to Freedom and Children’s Health Defensehave unpacked all of these problems and identified possible solutions.

During a jam-packed two-day online symposium, you will learn about all facets of the attack on food, and how to resist. This is an entirely free event, with a fantastic lineup of speakers and topics. Grab a pad and pencil, because you will definitely want to take notes!

The Attack on Food and Farmers, and How to Fight Back premieres on September 6 and 7. It will remain on our channels for later viewing and sharing as well. By the end of Day 2, you will know what actions to take, both in your own backyard, and in the halls of your legislatures to create a healthier, tastier, safer, and more secure food supply.

  • Detoxing Estrogen Excess in Men and Women
The most powerful supplementary means are fresh broccoli seed sprouts and moringa

    Dr. Syed Haider

We had a female patient with breast cancer who was well into her healing protocol, but still had a small cancerous lump. We recommended eating a moderate size serving of broccoli seed sprouts a few times a week. She misunderstood the instructions and ate a lot all at once. She had a diarrhea detox reaction, but most surprising of all, the very next day she couldn’t detect the lump anymore. Later testing showed she was cancer free.

Breast cancer is one of many common female diseases caused by estrogen dominance, ie an excess of the sex hormone estrogen. This comes primarily from fear/insecurity/anxiety/stress and environmental xenoestrogens. Xenoestrogens are foreign chemicals that activate the estrogen receptor. I wrote more about estrogen excess in women in this blog post, where I noted that estrogen dominance is the quintessential instigator of all of women’s health problems including: dysmenorrhea, infertility, skin disease like acne, hair loss/thinning, water retention, altered distribution of fat, overweight and obesity, hypothyroidism, neurotransmitter dysfunction leading to modo swings, irritability, depression and anxiety, gallbladder disease, insomnia, chromic fatigue, breast tenderness and swelling, breast cancer, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, blood clots. and insulin resistance which is a root cause of most if not all chronic illnesses including heart disease, diabetes and strokes.

A Woman's Health May Depend on a Good Man

A Woman's Health May Depend on a Good Man
When the relationship between a husband and wife improves, we often see a corresponding improvement in the wife's serious chronic health issues, such as menstrual problems, infertility, thyroid disease, gallbladder disease, fibroids, polyps, ovarian cysts, mood disorders and more. Even though these chronic health problems all have clear physical bases, primarily rooted in estrogen excess and it’s concomitant effects on various organs, these issues will still often suddenly diminish or even disappear entirely, depending on the depth of healing in the relationship. This healing process typically requires marital counseling from someone with real wisdom, who helps the couple put issues in their proper perspective and set realistic expectations. This collaborative approach has proven essential in healing many women in our practice. As trust is rebuilt and insecurities diminish, we usually witness remarkable improvements in their health. Understanding just what is going on, both emotionall…

But it’s not just women who are affected by estrogen excess, men make estrogen in their bodies as well, also ins response to fear/anxiety, and just like women they’re also exposed from environmental toxins.

In men excess estrogens can cause gynecomastia (enlarged breast tissue), prostatic enlargement (BPH), prostate cancer, infertility and testicular atrophy, erectile dysfunction, overweight and obesity, especially the accumulation of stubborn abdominal fat, cardiovascular disease, depression, anxiety, liver disease.

    Sources of Xenoestrogens

Xenoestrogens are everywhere nowadays. They’re fond in plastics (not jut BPA, but all the other BPxs that it’s been replaced with, like BPC, etc), parabens and phthalates in shampoos, lotions and cosmetics, pesticides like atrazine (made famous for the study ins which male frogs exposed to it turned into females), and glyphosate, more commonly known as Roundup, which is the single most widely used pesticide in the world today and is indiscriminately sprayed on “Roundup-ready” crops, industrial chemicals like PCBs and dioxins, as well as the added hormones used in meat and dairy production (meat and dairy get a double whammy because the animals are exposed to all the above sources in their environment and feed, and then are also injected with more hormones).

    Xenoestrogens estrogen and endometriosis
    Detoxifying from Xenoestrogens

A good detox is an ongoing process that never ends. It’s more intense in the first 2-12 months depending on how chronically sick someone was when starting, but the sheer level of environmental toxicity in the modern world means that it can’t ever truly be over. There will be daily things that need to be continued. I know someone who's been living clean and detoxing regularly for years now who still gets occasional sludge coming out of his liver and gallbladder.

The first principle of detox is to stop the incoming toxins as much as possible and the second is to support your body with the building blocks it needs, i.e. replace deficiencies.

Stopping incoming toxins means cleaning up the diet especially (though water, and air are also crucial).

The second principle of support is especially important when chronically sick, because whatever you eat while sick feeds your disease as well as you. In that condition it’s very important to maximize nutrient density to replace missing nutrients that your immune system relies on, while minimizing empty calories that fuel pathogenic microbes.

Meat can be a fantastic protein source, unfortunately most people can’t get really good quality organic, regenerative, grass-fed and grass-finished, hormone-free, naturally-raised meat.

Zeranol and Mycoestrogens - Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP)
1 of 6 hormones used in animals, this one is synthetic and particularly harmful
Just putting ruminants like cows on pasture doesn’t mean they will get all the micronutrients they need if the grasslands aren’t properly managed. Grass fed cows tend if not supplemented micronutrients tend to become malnourished because the land they graze on isn’t usually properly managed in a regenerative way, which means utilizing multiple species including chickens, goats/sheep, to replenish the soul and rotating the grazing.

Also, even without added hormones, non-organic feed will expose cattle to xenoesterogens, and even with organic feed unnatural living conditions will cause chronic stress, which itself will lead to elevated estrogen levels in the meat.

Another issues is that while muscle meat is relatively nutrient dense, it’s not the most nutrient dense source of protein, at least as it is usually raised in the modern world, especially when it comes to anti-iflammatory omega 3s, which are present in 20-30 times greater amounts in sardines vs grass fed/finished beef, and even higher compared to grain fed beef.

Omega 3 fats are polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) which are very sensitive to damage by light and heat, and when damaged, become damaging to us if consumed. They are liable to damage when they are extracted in the form of omega 3 fish oil, so the safest way to consume them is in a whole food source, where they are protected by the natural structure of the food surrounding them, which also contains natural antioxidants that contribute to their stability.

We know that all modern people are highly deficient in Omega 3s compared to traditional healthy peoples, so this is a big deal when trying to recover from chronic illness, or even when simply detoxing and supporting longevity and health span.

The most nutrient dense animal meats are the organs, especially the liver, which is nature’s premier multivitamin.

The organs are best taken raw since cooking will destroy a large proportion of the Vitamin C and B vitamins. Also cooking disrupts the structure of the water in the organs.

Many scientists now believe that water has a memory. In fact, Nobel prize winning Lucy Montagnier conducted a shocking experiment shortly before he passed away a few years ago in which he showed that information encoded in DNA could be transmitted directly into a water “memory,” i.e. the water molecules somehow structured themselves in such a way as to hold the DNA information. And then that information in the water alone, with no DNA present, could be used the same way DNA is used to stimulate the necessary enzymes to produce the proteins encoded by that genetic information. And even more shocking there was an electromagnetic signature associated with the DNA itself that is what seemed to stimulate the water to mimic the DNA structure and/or function. This electromagnetic DNA information signal was transmitted over the internet to a lab that did not contain the original DNA sequence. It was used to irradiate fresh water, and that water could then stimulate the production of the same protein that was encoded by the DNA sequence that wasn’t even present.

All that to say that there is some information encoded in the water present within animal and plant tissues. And since organ and others meats are 70-75% water, a significant amount of information is lost when the meat is heated. That lost information is probably more important than the lost vitamins, and is likely the reason that all traditional hunter gatherer societies eat fresh raw organ meat from their kills the way all carnivorous animals atop the food chain tend to do. People who are sensitive enough report the presence of an “anti-fatigue” factor in raw liver for example. But generally speaking each organ acts to bolster the function of the corresponding organ in us.

Most modern humans in industrialized societies have strained, hearts, livers, kidneys and thyroids and a properly structured protocol will usually supplement one or more of these over time. An interesting factoid I came across recently was that prior to 1980 all ground beef sold in the United States included the thyroid gland, which contains thyroid hormone, and is perhaps the cleanest, most potent weight loss drug in the world (perhaps the best of a bad lot of artificial means of stimulating dramatic weight loss - since anything that ignores the root cause of the problem must worsen the root cause while simply covering it up).

The water memory vital factor is why I and many of our patients blend raw organ meat and consume it daily rather than rely on the freeze-dried powdered organs available in capsule form.

    Other Ways to Detox

Cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, and cabbage) are highly effective in helping the body detoxify excess estrogen. This is due to their unique combination of bioactive compounds that support liver function, enhance hormone metabolism, and reduce estrogenic activity. Here’s a breakdown of why cruciferous vegetables are so beneficial:

Rich in Glucosinolates, which Convert to Indole-3-Carbinol (I3C)

Glucosinolates are sulfur-containing compounds found abundantly in cruciferous vegetables. When these vegetables are chewed, chopped, or digested, glucosinolates are broken down into biologically active compounds, including indole-3-carbinol (I3C).

I3C is further converted in the stomach to diindolylmethane (DIM), which plays a key role in estrogen metabolism.

    DIM (Diindolylmethane) and Estrogen Balance

DIM helps the body metabolize estrogen into its less harmful forms. Estrogen is processed by the liver into three main metabolites:

2-hydroxyestrone (2-OH): A beneficial, protective form of estrogen.

    4-hydroxyestrone (4-OH): A potentially harmful, pro-carcinogenic form.

16-alpha-hydroxyestrone (16α-OH): A more potent and potentially estrogenic form.

DIM promotes the conversion of estrogen into the 2-OH pathway, which is the safest and least estrogenic pathway. This reduces the levels of the more harmful 4-OH and 16α-OH metabolites, thereby lowering the risk of estrogen-related cancers and symptoms.

Support for Phase I and Phase II Liver Detoxification

The liver is the primary site for detoxifying hormones, including estrogen. Cruciferous vegetables support both Phase I and Phase II liver detoxification pathways:

Phase I Detoxification: Cruciferous vegetables contain compounds that enhance the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes, which help convert estrogen into its metabolites.

Phase II Detoxification: The sulfur-containing compounds in cruciferous vegetables, like sulforaphane and I3C, boost the liver's ability to conjugate (bind) estrogen metabolites, making them easier to eliminate through urine or bile.

    High in Sulforaphane

Sulforaphane, another compound derived from cruciferous vegetables, is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. It stimulates the production of glutathione, one of the body’s most important detoxification molecules.

Glutathione helps neutralize and eliminate estrogen metabolites, reducing the risk of estrogen dominance.

    Fiber Content for Estrogen Elimination

Cruciferous vegetables are rich in fiber, which is essential for binding and removing estrogen from the digestive tract. Fiber helps prevent the reabsorption of estrogen in the intestines, ensuring it is eliminated from the body.

Beta-glucuronidase, an enzyme produced by gut bacteria, can unbind estrogen from its conjugated form in the gut, leading to its reabsorption. The fiber in cruciferous vegetables can help reduce beta-glucuronidase activity, supporting proper estrogen clearance.

    Anti-Estrogenic Effects

Compounds in cruciferous vegetables can act as natural selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), which means they can block estrogen receptors in tissues like the breasts and uterus, reducing the risk of estrogen-stimulated cancer growth.

Incorporating cruciferous vegetables into your diet can significantly support the body's ability to detoxify excess estrogen, helping to balance hormones naturally. Eating these vegetables raw, lightly steamed, or fermented can preserve the bioactive compounds and maximize their health benefits, but the most efficient way to consume large quantities of cruciferous vegetables, which we recommend to our patients, is in the form of juice from a high quality masticating (AKA cold press, or slow) juicer. The reason slow press juicers work so much better to support health.than the traditional style centrifugal juicers is that the slow speed reduces the amount of air introduced into the juice, which means less oxidation of sensitive nutrients. This is important for preserving enzymes, flavonoids, and other phytonutrients found in vegetables. The slow juicers also limit heating of the juice, which just as in the case of meat helps preserve vitamin C and B vitamins.

This isn’t just theoretical either: a study published in the Journal of Food Science and Technology found that masticating juicers retained significantly higher levels of vitamin C, polyphenols, and other antioxidants compared to centrifugal juicers.

Other research comparing masticating and centrifugal juicers found that masticating juicers extracted more beta-carotene (a precursor to vitamin A) and chlorophyll from leafy greens.

The slow, pressing action of a masticating juicer is also more effective at breaking down the cell walls of vegetables, which releases more of the “trapped” beneficial compounds like fiber-bound polyphenols and other phytonutrients that may not be fully extracted by centrifugal juicers.

    Crucifers on Steroids

Broccoli sprouts are exceptionally effective at helping the body detoxify excess estrogens, largely due to their high concentration of a powerful bioactive compound called sulforaphane. Broccoli sprouts contain up to 100 times more glucoraphanin (which converts to sulforaphane) than mature broccoli, making them one of the richest sources of this compound. As mentioned earlier sulforaphane activates the body's detoxification pathways, particularly the liver's Phase II detoxification enzymes, which play a crucial role in metabolizing and eliminating excess estrogens and other toxins.

Let’s explore the way sulphoraphane works in some more detail:

    Enhances Estrogen Metabolism

Sulforaphane promotes the metabolism of estrogen into its less harmful forms, reducing the risk of estrogen dominance, which is linked to conditions like breast cancer, prostate cancer, and hormonal imbalances.

Estrogen is metabolized in the liver into three main pathways:

    2-hydroxyestrone (2-OH): A protective, less estrogenic metabolite.

4-hydroxyestrone (4-OH): A potentially harmful and carcinogenic form.

    16-alpha-hydroxyestrone (16α-OH): A more potent estrogenic form.

Sulforaphane helps shift estrogen metabolism towards the 2-OH pathway, which produces less harmful metabolites. This shift reduces the levels of the more harmful 4-OH and 16α-OH estrogens, thereby lowering the risk of hormone-related cancers.

Activation of NRF2 Pathway for Detoxification

Sulforaphane activates the NRF2 (Nuclear Factor Erythroid 2–Related Factor 2) pathway, which is a master regulator of antioxidant and detoxification enzymes.

This activation leads to the production of enzymes like glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and quinone reductase, which are crucial for detoxifying harmful estrogen metabolites and protecting cells from oxidative stress.

By enhancing the body's detoxification system, sulforaphane helps efficiently clear out excess estrogens and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

    Anti-Inflammatory Effects

Excess estrogen can promote inflammation, which contributes to hormone-related disorders. Sulforaphane has potent anti-inflammatory effects, helping to reduce inflammation in tissues sensitive to estrogen, such as the breasts and prostate.

Sulforaphane inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines and reduces oxidative stress, which can help alleviate symptoms associated with estrogen dominance, like breast tenderness and menstrual pain.

    Inhibition of Aromatase Enzyme

The enzyme aromatase converts androgens (like testosterone) into estrogens. Elevated aromatase activity can lead to increased estrogen levels, especially in tissues like breast tissue.

Sulforaphane has been shown to inhibit aromatase activity, helping reduce the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. This effect is particularly beneficial in conditions like estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer.

Supports Gut Health for Estrogen Elimination

Sulforaphane supports the gut microbiome, reducing the activity of beta-glucuronidase, an enzyme that can lead to the reactivation and reabsorption of estrogen in the intestines.

Practical Tips for Using Broccoli Sprouts

Eat them raw: Sulforaphane is heat-sensitive, so it's best to consume broccoli sprouts raw or lightly steamed.

Chew thoroughly: The enzyme myrosinase is needed to convert glucoraphanin into sulforaphane. Chewing releases myrosinase, enhancing sulforaphane formation.

Combine with mustard seed: Mustard seeds contain myrosinase, which can boost sulforaphane production if broccoli sprouts are lightly cooked.

Prefer Fresh Sprouts over powdered, or add myrosinase: the heating process applied to dried and powdered broccoli seed sprouts eliminates most if not all of the tyrosinase, which is required to activate the sulfurophane, so it’s always best to go with freshly sprouted ones (available in some grocers), and as a second best you can consume the powdered version with a source of tyrosinase like mustard seeds. A small amount of mustard seed powder—about 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon—should be sufficient to activate the sulforaphane from a tablespoon of broccoli seed sprout powder.

    Moringa

While fresh broccoli seed sprouts seem to be the most potent form of estrogen detoxification available, they can be inconvenient to obtain or consume, and not everyone has something like breast cancer (where they are the go-to).

Some people have noted an equivalent beneficial effect from simple, powdered moringa leaf (I take both nowadays), and it has some additional benefits that makes it a perfect synergistic companion to broccoli seed sprouts and other cruciferous vegetables.

Moringa contains moringin which acts similarly to sulfurophane from cruciferous vegetables to support liver detox pathways that break down estrogens. It also has anti-aromatase properties, which means it prevents the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. Moringa also activated glutathione, has powerful anti-inflammatory effects, plenty of antioxidants like quercetin, chlorogenic acid and flavonoids. Quercetin, in particular, not present in broccoli seed sprouts, has been shown to modulate estrogen receptors, reducing the impact of estrogen on tissues.

Moringa does contain phytoestrogens, which are plant-based compounds that can bind to estrogen receptors in a weaker form than the body’s own estrogens. This can help balance the body's estrogen levels by blocking stronger, more harmful estrogens from binding to those receptors. So until normal estrogen levels are attained, this effect, even though it is pro-estrogenic, would actually help the situation by displacing stronger estrogens from those receptors.

Flavonoids like quercetin and kaempferol from Moringa can also act as selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), which means they can have a balancing effect on estrogen activity depending on the tissue - activating estrogen in areas where it’s needed like in the bones to stimulate bone growth, and deactivating it in tissues where an excess would be harmful like the breast.

Moringa also has an interesting nutritional profile. Only 1 teaspoon contains between 400-500 IU of beta carotene, the precursor to vitamin A - 6 times more than what’s contained in broccoli seed sprouts and covering 15-20% of the RDA for adults. Moringa also contained 10 times more Vitamin K and 50 times more vitamin E. It’s far richer in essential minerals, containing 50 times more calcium and iron. Over 10 times more Magnesium, which is the single most missing nutrient in our food supply. And nearly 10 times more zinc. It also has 10 times more protein and fat, as well as 5 times more fiber. And all these values are skewed in favor of the sprouts by comparing powdered moringa, which is all that’s readily available to fresh broccoli seed sprouts.

    Moringa from mygotostack:

    SUPERFOODS [moringa]
    Conclusion

Everyone in the modern world is dealing with an estrogen excess whether it be from stress or widespread environmental toxins (don’t forget receipts! The single greatest source of BPA-type compounds, better to lose the refund than touch the receipt. I usually do an awkward pincer-like grab with my wallet and phone, while the cashier looks on bewildered).

Detoxifying the estrogens made within our own bodies (men make them too!), or those we get from our food and environment has to be on everyones daily to-do list. Top priority is minimize their production and consumption. Second support nutritional and biochemical pathways that detoxify them especially with broccoli seed sprouts and moringa which go hand in hand with complementary effects.

Finally, the most important approach to healing from anything, including estrogen excess, is addressing higher planes of being which find expression in the physical. When our hearts and minds are out of balance we will attract the toxins and pathogens that manifest physical illness, and use up the nutrients that stave it off.

Fear is the killer here - it stimulates estrogen excess. It might manifest as anxiety, worry, or outright terror, the effects are the same, it’s just a difference of degree. When the body is exhausted by out of control emotions it won’t have the energy left to detoxify environmental estrogens, especially not after years of this kind of stress. That’s why people get sicker and sicker as they age, it’s just a matter of time under tension that has exhausted our resources.

So physical means are just a means to changing our deeper selves, without which resolution of symptoms will not actually solve our real problems. The physical problems will either return if the emotional core remains unresolved, or will manifest in some other arena of our lives, because manifest they must. The purpose of our existence is not merely finding comfort in this short life, it’s refining the soul, and because of that fundamental reality our problems will continue to plague us until we realize it is just us that is the real problem.

Detoxing Estrogen Excess in Men and Women The most powerful supplementary means are fresh broccoli seed sprouts and moringa Dr. Syed Haider We had a female patient with breast cancer who was well into her healing protocol, but still had a small cancerous lump. A Woman's Health May Depend on a Good Man A Woman's Health May Depend on a Good Man When the relationship between a husband and wife improves, we often see a corresponding improvement in the wife's serious chronic health issues, such as menstrual problems, infertility, thyroid disease, gallbladder disease, fibroids, polyps, ovarian cysts, mood disorders and more. Understanding just what is going on, both emotionall… Read full story But it’s not just women who are affected by estrogen excess, men make estrogen in their bodies as well, also ins response to fear/anxiety, and just like women they’re also exposed from environmental toxins. In men excess estrogens can cause gynecomastia (enlarged breast tissue), prostatic enlargement (BPH), prostate cancer, infertility and testicular atrophy, erectile dysfunction, overweight and obesity, especially the accumulation of stubborn abdominal fat, cardiovascular disease, depression, anxiety, liver disease. Thanks for reading Dr. Syed Haider! This post is public so feel free to share it. Share Sources of Xenoestrogens Xenoestrogens are everywhere nowadays. Xenoestrogens estrogen and endometriosis Detoxifying from Xenoestrogens A good detox is an ongoing process that never ends. Zeranol and Mycoestrogens - Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP) 1 of 6 hormones used in animals, this one is synthetic and particularly harmful Just putting ruminants like cows on pasture doesn’t mean they will get all the micronutrients they need if the grasslands aren’t properly managed. Other Ways to Detox Cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, and cabbage) are highly effective in helping the body detoxify excess estrogen. This is due to their unique combination of bioactive compounds that support liver function, enhance hormone metabolism, and reduce estrogenic activity. Here’s a breakdown of why cruciferous vegetables are so beneficial: Rich in Glucosinolates, which Convert to Indole-3-Carbinol (I3C) Glucosinolates are sulfur-containing compounds found abundantly in cruciferous vegetables. When these vegetables are chewed, chopped, or digested, glucosinolates are broken down into biologically active compounds, including indole-3-carbinol (I3C). I3C is further converted in the stomach to diindolylmethane (DIM), which plays a key role in estrogen metabolism. DIM (Diindolylmethane) and Estrogen Balance DIM helps the body metabolize estrogen into its less harmful forms. Estrogen is processed by the liver into three main metabolites: 2-hydroxyestrone (2-OH): A beneficial, protective form of estrogen. 4-hydroxyestrone (4-OH): A potentially harmful, pro-carcinogenic form. 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone (16α-OH): A more potent and potentially estrogenic form. The physical problems will either return if the emotional core remains unresolved, or will manifest in some other arena of our lives, because manifest they must. The purpose of our existence is not merely finding comfort in this short life, it’s refining the soul, and because of that fundamental reality our problems will continue to plague us until we realize it is just us that is the real problem. https://blog.mygotodoc.com/p/detoxing-estrogen-excess-in-men-and https://telegra.ph/Detoxing-Estrogen-Excess-in-Men-and-Women-01-27

Israel killed at least 28 people in the Gaza Strip Sunday.

At least four Palestinians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the Umm al-Fahm School in the town of Beit Lahia, which serves to shelter displaced civilians in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Lebanese health ministry has reported that Israeli air strikes on Sunday killed at least 109 individuals and left 364 others wounded across the country.

An entire family of 17 members was wiped out by an Israeli airstrike on Sunday in the town of Zboud, in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, Lebanese media said.
In Yemen, at least four people were killed and 49 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on the western city of Al Hudaydah on Sunday, the Houthi group said.

Around 17,000 children killed in Israeli war on Gaza, Palestinian authorities say

    Anadolu Agency reports:

Around 17,000 Palestinian children have been killed in Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip since last October, according to local authorities on Sunday.

“Around 25,973 Palestinian children now live in Gaza without one or both parents due to the Israeli aggression,” Ismail al-Thawabta, who heads Gaza’s government media office, told Anadolu.

He said at least 16,859 children, including 171 infants, have been killed in Israeli attacks since Oct. 7, 2023.

The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has repeatedly warned that “Gaza’s children have endured unimaginable horrors” under relentless Israeli attacks.

Gaza: Israel’s destruction of agricultural land is expression of its insistence on committing genocide

    Euro Med Monitor reports:

Israel has once again destroyed hundreds of dunams of agricultural land, depriving Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip of agricultural land and resources vital to survival, all in support of its illegal blockade of the Strip and tight restrictions on the entry of food supplies for almost a full year. This is an expression of Israel’s insistence on committing genocide against Palestinians in the enclave.

Israel has forced over 75% of agricultural land in the Gaza Strip from the Palestinian people’s hands, either by isolating it in preparation for illegally annexing it to its military “buffer zone” or by bulldozing or otherwise damaging it, thereby destroying the Strip’s supply of fruits, vegetables, and meat.

This destruction is part of a larger Israeli plan that dates back to last October. Under this plan, Israeli forces have worked to eliminate almost 80% of the agricultural land in the Gaza Strip from use by Palestinians. Israel has done this either by isolating it in preparation for its forcible annexation to the so-called “buffer zone” or by bulldozing or destroying it by other means, such as bombardment—all of which are in violation of international law.

According to the Euro-Med Monitor field team, Israeli forces stormed the area of Al-Shimaa in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, early on Tuesday morning (25 September 2024). Accompanied by military bulldozers, the forces began their bulldozing operations, destroying more than 500 dunums of newly replanted agricultural land, which was supposed to sustain the needs of the people living in northern Gaza, who are subject to an arbitrary siege and systematic starvation by Israel.

The Israeli destruction of these agricultural lands, the majority of which were filled with eggplants, reflects Israel’s insistence on preventing the Palestinian people from depending on the region’s agricultural food basket during a period when sufficient supplies of vegetables and other foods are being kept out of the northern Gaza Strip. This has led to a severe famine, to the point where a significant portion of the people in the north have been forced to eat tree leaves and bake ground-up animal feed instead of flour.

Palestinian security in Gaza says spying devices found in displacement camps

    Middle East Monitor reports:

The Palestinian security services in Gaza have in recent days seized Israeli spying equipment planted in a shelter for displaced families in the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian resistance media platform reported on its Telegram channel yesterday.

The platform quoted a security officer as saying that “the [Israeli] occupation intelligence had disguised the seized spying devices with different shapes, so they appear as part of the surrounding and natural environment including in the form of a rock.”

The officer suggested the Israeli intelligence planted the spying devices via Quadcopter drones, calling on everyone “not to tamper with any suspicious devices and to contact the security officers immediately.”

From Gaza to Lebanon: Israel’s Bombing Campaign Backed by Media Propaganda

    MintPress News reports:

Western corporate media outlets, including the BBC, CNN, and The New York Times, have been working overtime to justify Israel’s recent assault on Lebanon, which claimed the lives of approximately 600 people in a single day. These reports have repeatedly claimed that the Israeli strikes were targeting “Hezbollah positions,” an assertion that has been widely echoed without substantial scrutiny.

Israel’s large-scale onslaught against civilian areas throughout Lebanon, which began on Monday, was covered by Western corporate media as “strikes on Hezbollah.”

CNN’s story on the first day of the assault, after around 500 people had been killed across Lebanon, was titled, “Israeli Strikes Targeting Hezbollah Kill Hundreds Across Lebanon.” The New York Times set up a live events feed labeled “Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon.” Even Reuters and the Associated Press, two of the most reputable Western news providers, framed the events as an escalation from “both sides,” covering Israel’s attack on Hezbollah.

A Reuters article published Tuesday opens with a telling lede: “An Israeli airstrike on Beirut killed a senior Hezbollah commander on Tuesday as cross-border rocket attacks by both sides increased fears of a full-fledged war in the Middle East, and Lebanon said only Washington could help end the fighting.”

Israel has made no secret of the fact that it is targeting civilians, as demonstrated by its release of a CGI video showing mockups of Lebanese villages, where missiles are allegedly stored in homes. Despite this, much of the Western media has yet to acknowledge these admissions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dispelled any remaining doubt when he delivered a message in English to the people of Lebanon in which he claimed, “Hezbollah has been using you as human shields.” He further stated, “They’ve placed rockets in your living rooms” and “missiles in your garage.”

Garbage situation in Gaza is catastrophic

    Various agencies report:

UNRWA, the United Nations group serving Palestinian refugees, says: Mountains of garbage are piling up in Gaza middle areas as sewage leaks onto streets. Families have no choice but to live beside the accumulated waste, exposed to the reek and the threat of a looming health disaster. Sanitary and living conditions across Gaza are inhumane.

According to ReliefWeb, the waste management system in Gaza, already limited before the war, has now completely collapsed as collection vehicles have been destroyed and access to official landfills is refused by the Israeli military.

Waste attracts rodents and insects resulting in the spread of infectious diseases such as cholera or skin diseases, while waste burning, a disposal method that locals use to manage the current emergency, worsens air pollution which in turn can result in further respiratory problems. People, many of whom are children, scavenging waste for food and sustenance, face additional risks from hazardous materials, which include medical waste and industrial chemicals.

There are also growing indications that conflict pollution is risked with the spread of antimicrobial resistance, a development that can deepen the medical health crisis.

Large waste dumps are also a threat to the soil and groundwater, as leachate, a toxic mix that spills from the waste, seeps into the land and affects groundwater, while in the long-term, increased methane release from landfills contributes to an increase of greenhouse gas emissions.

Lebanon says around 1 million people displaced due to Israeli attacks

    Anadolu Agency reports:

Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said Sunday that around one million people have been displaced due to Israeli attacks, marking the largest wave of displacement in the country’s history.

“Lebanon is experiencing the largest wave of displacement in its history,” he told a press conference following a meeting of the government’s emergency committee in Beirut.

“Our priority is to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression through continued diplomatic efforts. We have no other choice,” he noted.

Mikati also reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls for a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.

Israel’s state comptroller accuses army of obstructing investigations into Oct. 7 failures

    Anadolu Agency reports:

Israeli State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman accused the military on Sunday of hindering investigations into the failures that led to the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.

“No external body has shown objectivity in examining the failures,” Englman said during a conference by Israeli media outlets The Jerusalem Post, Maariv and Walla.

He said his office is conducting a series of investigations related to the failures that led to the Oct. 7 attack.

“We are nearing completion of this report, but to finalize it, we need to meet with three individuals in the military,” Englman added.

He emphasized that Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi believes that the State Comptroller’s office should not intervene in military issues, declaring him “wrong.”

The State Comptroller’s office is Israel’s central institution for overseeing various state agencies to ensure public financial accountability.

US senator confirms Israel used US one ton bombs in Nasrallah strike

    Reuters reports:

The bomb that Israel used to kill Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut last week was an American-made guided weapon, a U.S. senator said on Sunday.

Mark Kelly, chair of the Senate Armed Services Airland Subcommittee, said Israel used a 2,000-lb (900-kg) Mark 84 series bomb, during an interview with NBC. His statement marks the first U.S. indication of what weapon had been used.

“We see more use of guided munitions, JDAMs, and we continue to provide those weapons,” Kelly said, using an abbreviation that stands for Joint Direct Attack Munitions. “That 2,000-pound bomb that was used, that’s a Mark 84 series bomb, to take out Nasrallah,” he said.

The Israeli military said on Saturday it had eliminated Nasrallah in a strike on the group’s central command headquarters in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The Israeli military has declined to comment on what weapons were used in the attack. The Pentagon was not immediately available for comment.

JDAMs convert a standard unguided bomb using fins and a GPS guidance system into a guided weapon.

AL JAZEERA ADDS: Israel media says about 85 so-called “bunker-buster” bombs were used in the attack on Hasan Nasrallah.

Also known as “ground penetration munition”, these missiles burrow deep into the ground before they detonate.

They have the power to destroy underground facilities and reinforced concrete buildings.

Washington’s failure to condemn Israel’s pager terrorism “can only be called racist”

Ralph Nader writes in Common Dreams:

Furtively booby-trapping a consumer product like a pager or two-way radio opens a new phase of warfare. This savagery prompted Leon Panetta, former director of the CIA and former secretary of defense, in an interview on the CBS “Sunday Morning” news show to charge Israel with “terrorism.” No prominent national security figure has ever assailed Israel this way. Herewith his words:

The ability to be able to place an explosive in technology that is very prevalent these days. And turn it into a war of terror. Really, a war of terror. This is something new.

I don’t think there’s any question that it’s a form of terrorism…This is going right into the supply chain, right into the supply chain. And when you have terror going into the supply chain, it makes people ask the question, what the hell is next?

Panetta would never have uttered these words without the concurrence of the CIA and the Department of Defense. Still no consequences for Netanyahu by the U.S. government.

Netanyahu has made the push button a trigger for mayhem and murder—acts of large-scale terrorism. He and his predecessors have always characterized offensive acts violating the laws of war as “acceptable” defensive tactics.

The supine Congress and White House regularly rubber-stamp their violations of several U.S. laws on behalf of the Israeli government. (See the letter sent to John Kirby on September 12, 2024).

Consider the aftermath. No denunciation by U.S. President Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, or Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Alarmingly, there were no editorials in the following week criticizing Netanyahu in The Washington Post and The New York Times.

Imagine if Hezbollah did this to Israeli society. The devaluation of Palestinian and Lebanese lives can only be called racist.

U.S. blowback analysts are apprehensive about the spread of Israeli-style “red button” explosives and the ingenious, and ever-cheaper armed drones. They see such technologies as potential threats within the U.S.

Such is the peril of nations whose leaders wage constant profitable, preventable wars and decline to wage muscular peace with comparable determination.

Pope says Israel’s bombings in Lebanon, Gaza ‘immoral’

    Anadolu Agency reports:

On Sunday, the pope was asked about Israel’s targeted killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Friday’s strike on Beirut, which led to many casualties and reduced several buildings to rubble.

“Every day I call the parish of Gaza. More than 600 people are there, inside the parish and the college, and they tell me about the things that are happening, including the cruelties that are occurring there,” he told journalists.

“[D]efense must always be proportionate to the attack,” he added.

“When there is something disproportionate, a domineering tendency that goes beyond morality is evident,” the pope said.

“A country that, with its forces, does these things—I’m talking about any country—that does these things in such a “superlative” way, these are immoral actions,” he added.

“Even in war, there is morality to be safe-guarded. War is immoral, but the rules of war indicate some morality. But when this is not respected, you can see—as we say in Argentina—the “bad blood” of these things.”

Jared Kushner says Israel must ‘finish the job’ in Lebanon

    Al Jazeera reports:

Jared Kushner, who served as a senior adviser during former US President Donald Trump’s tenure in the White House, has said calling for a ceasefire in Lebanon is “wrong”.

In a post on X, Kushner said Israel “cannot afford now to not finish the job” and dismantle Hezbollah completely.“They will never get another chance. After the brilliant, rapid-fire tactical successes of the pagers, radios, and targeting of leadership, Hezbollah’s massive weapon cache is unguarded and unmanned,” said Kushner, who is also the Republican candidate’s son-in-law.
He added that the “right move” for the US is to allow Israel to “finish the job. It’s long overdue”.

In March, Kushner sparked controversy when he publicly praised the “very valuable potential” of “waterfront property” in Gaza, in comments that gave a window into what Trump’s policy on Palestine could be during his second term.

During Trump’s presidency, Kushner played a major role in negotiating the “Abraham Accords”: normalization deals between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco. Palestinians slammed the agreements as “a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people”.

At one point, Trump’s son-in-law described Gaza as having no historical context – “It was the result of a war – you had tribes that went different places and then Gaza became a thing.”

Before leading in the creation of Trump’s so-called Deal of the Century, Kushner claimed his expertise on the subject came from reading 25 books about Palestine.

Russian foreign minister urges Israel to abandon ‘essentially terrorist methods of settling political scores’

    Anadolu Agency reports:

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov urged Israel on Saturday to abandon “essentially terrorist methods of settling political scores” as he commented on the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Lavrov said at a news conference in New York that he had the impression that Israel is trying to provoke Iran and the Lebanese resistance group, Hezbollah, to push the US into direct involvement in the conflict in the Middle East.

The Russian diplomat noted that Nasrallah’s murder was not the first provocative step by Israel. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in July in the Iranian capital of Tehran where he went to take part in the funeral of President Ebrahim Raisi. Before that, Israel attacked the Iranian diplomatic mission in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

“Apparently, Israel wants to create a reason for the US to get involved in this war. And in order to create this reason, it has been provoking both Iran and Hezbollah. In this situation, Iranian leadership is behaving extremely responsibly,” he said. “I don’t think this is the right course, I am convinced that the bloodshed must be stopped.”

Asked about Israel’s willingness to implement UN Security Council resolutions, Lavrov said: “I do not see Israel’s desire to carry out any peace plans.”

    STATISTICS OCTOBER 7 – SEPTEMBER 29:

Palestinian death toll from October 7, 2023 – September 29, 2024: at least 42,334* (41,615 in Gaza* – 11,308 women (30%), 16,859 children as of September 5. [The Ministry’s figures have been contested by the Israeli authorities, although they have been accepted as accurate by Israeli intelligence services, the UN, and WHO. These data are supported by independent analyses, comparing changes in the number of deaths of UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) staff with those reported by the Ministry, which found claims of data fabrication implausible.]

This is expected to be a significant undercount since thousands of those killed have yet to be identified – and at least 719 in the West Bank (~148 children). This does not include an estimated 10,000 more still buried under rubble (4,900 women and children). Euro-Med Monitor reports 49,032 Palestinian deaths.

Lancet: “Applying a conservative estimate of four indirect deaths per one direct death9 to the 37,396 deaths reported, it is not implausible to estimate that up to 186 000 or even more deaths could be attributable to the current conflict in Gaza.

Ralph Nader earlier estimated 300,000 Palestinians may have been killed in Gaza.

At least 45 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons (27 from Gaza, 25 from West Bank).
At least 41 Palestinians have died due to malnutrition (at least 37 of them children)**.
About 1.9 million of Gaza’s 2.3 million population are currently displaced.
Almost 500,000 Gazans are currently experiencing catastrophic levels of food insecurity.
Palestinian injuries from October 7 – September 29: at least 102,059 (including at least 96,359 in Gaza and 5,700 in the West Bank, including 830 children). [It remains unknown how many Americans are among the casualties in Gaza.]

Reported Israeli death toll from October 7, 2023 – September 29, 2024: ~1,457 (~1,139 on October 7, 2023, of which ~32 were Americans, and ~36 were children); 293*** military forces since the ground invasion began in Gaza; 25 military and civilians in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Israel) and~10,000 injured.

The death toll in Lebanon since October 8, 2023 is 1,640 (104 children, 194 women) and 8,408 injuries. More recently, since September 16, 1,030 have been killed, 6,352 have been injured., with 6,352 injuries, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Saturday, September 28.

NOTE: It is unknown at this time how many of the deaths and injuries of Israelis on October 7 were caused by Israeli soldiers.

*Previously, IAK did not include 471 Gazans killed in the Al Ahli hospital blast since the source of the projectile was being disputed. However, given that much evidence points to Israel as the culprit, Israel had previously bombed the hospital and has attacked many others, Israel is prohibiting outside experts from investigating the scene, and since the UN and other agencies are including the deaths from the attack in their cumulative totals, if Americans knew is now also doing so.

**Euro-Med Monitor reports that Gaza’s elderly are dying at an alarmingly high rate. The majority die at home and are buried either close to their residences or in makeshift graves dispersed across the Strip. There are currently more than 140 such cemeteries. Additionally, according to Euromed, thousands have died from starvation, malnourishment, and inadequate medical care; these are considered indirect victims as they were not registered in hospitals.

***The figure does not include the reportedly 53 Israeli soldiers – nearly 16% of the total Israeli military deaths – killed due to friendly fire in Gaza and other military-related accidents.

† For most of the conflict, women and children accounted for about 70% of deaths in Gaza, with children making up a little over 40% of those killed, according to official statistics.

Mahmoud ssa / Anadolu via Getty Images (photo) Gaza: Israel’s destruction of agricultural land is expression of its insistence on committing genocide Euro Med Monitor reports: Israel has once again destroyed hundreds of dunams of agricultural land, depriving Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip of agricultural land and resources vital to survival, all in support of its illegal blockade of the Strip and tight restrictions on the entry of food supplies for almost a full year. Palestinian security in Gaza says spying devices found in displacement camps Middle East Monitor reports: The Palestinian security services in Gaza have in recent days seized Israeli spying equipment planted in a shelter for displaced families in the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian resistance media platform reported on its Telegram channel yesterday. The platform quoted a security officer as saying that “the [Israeli] occupation intelligence had disguised the seized spying devices with different shapes, so they appear as part of the surrounding and natural environment including in the form of a rock.” The officer suggested the Israeli intelligence planted the spying devices via Quadcopter drones, calling on everyone “not to tamper with any suspicious devices and to contact the security officers immediately.” Tent camp near Al-Aqsa Hospital that was hit by a deadly Israeli air attack [Abdallah FS Alattar/Anadolu] Tent camp near Al-Aqsa Hospital that was hit by a recent deadly Israeli air attack [Abdallah FS Alattar/Anadolu] (photo) From Gaza to Lebanon: Israel’s Bombing Campaign Backed by Media Propaganda MintPress News reports: Western corporate media outlets, including the BBC, CNN, and The New York Times, have been working overtime to justify Israel’s recent assault on Lebanon, which claimed the lives of approximately 600 people in a single day. These reports have repeatedly claimed that the Israeli strikes were targeting “Hezbollah positions,” an assertion that has been widely echoed without substantial scrutiny. Israel’s large-scale onslaught against civilian areas throughout Lebanon, which began on Monday, was covered by Western corporate media as “strikes on Hezbollah.” CNN’s story on the first day of the assault, after around 500 people had been killed across Lebanon, was titled, “Israeli Strikes Targeting Hezbollah Kill Hundreds Across Lebanon.” The New York Times set up a live events feed labeled “Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Lebanon.” Even Reuters and the Associated Press, two of the most reputable Western news providers, framed the events as an escalation from “both sides,” covering Israel’s attack on Hezbollah. A Reuters article published Tuesday opens with a telling lede: “An Israeli airstrike on Beirut killed a senior Hezbollah commander on Tuesday as cross-border rocket attacks by both sides increased fears of a full-fledged war in the Middle East, and Lebanon said only Washington could help end the fighting.” Israel has made no secret of the fact that it is targeting civilians, as demonstrated by its release of a CGI video showing mockups of Lebanese villages, where missiles are allegedly stored in homes. Despite this, much of the Western media has yet to acknowledge these admissions. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dispelled any remaining doubt when he delivered a message in English to the people of Lebanon in which he claimed, “Hezbollah has been using you as human shields.” He further stated, “They’ve placed rockets in your living rooms” and “missiles in your garage.” (Read the full analysis here.) Garbage situation in Gaza is catastrophic Various agencies report: UNRWA, the United Nations group serving Palestinian refugees, says: Mountains of garbage are piling up in Gaza middle areas as sewage leaks onto streets. We have no other choice,” he noted. Mikati also reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls for a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. He said his office is conducting a series of investigations related to the failures that led to the Oct. 7 attack. “We are nearing completion of this report, but to finalize it, we need to meet with three individuals in the military,” Englman added. He emphasized that Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi believes that the State Comptroller’s office should not intervene in military issues, declaring him “wrong.” The State Comptroller’s office is Israel’s central institution for overseeing various state agencies to ensure public financial accountability. This savagery prompted Leon Panetta, former director of the CIA and former secretary of defense, in an interview on the CBS “Sunday Morning” news show to charge Israel with “terrorism.” No prominent national security figure has ever assailed Israel this way. Herewith his words: The ability to be able to place an explosive in technology that is very prevalent these days. But when this is not respected, you can see—as we say in Argentina—the “bad blood” of these things.” Jared Kushner says Israel must ‘finish the job’ in Lebanon Al Jazeera reports: Jared Kushner, who served as a senior adviser during former US President Donald Trump’s tenure in the White House, has said calling for a ceasefire in Lebanon is “wrong”. At one point, Trump’s son-in-law described Gaza as having no historical context – “It was the result of a war – you had tribes that went different places and then Gaza became a thing.” Before leading in the creation of Trump’s so-called Deal of the Century, Kushner claimed his expertise on the subject came from reading 25 books about Palestine. Russian foreign minister urges Israel to abandon ‘essentially terrorist methods of settling political scores’ Anadolu Agency reports: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov urged Israel on Saturday to abandon “essentially terrorist methods of settling political scores” as he commented on the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. “I don’t think this is the right course, I am convinced that the bloodshed must be stopped.” Asked about Israel’s willingness to implement UN Security Council resolutions, Lavrov said: “I do not see Israel’s desire to carry out any peace plans.” Lebanese Red Cross teams conducted search and rescue operations in the rubble of collapsed buildings following an Israeli army attack in Nabatieh province of southern Lebanon, on September 27, 2024. • ‘Sign of Things to Come’: Singapore Approves 16 Insects for Human Food

Singapore has approved 16 insects as food for humans — becoming the latest country to authorize insect products for human consumption, in what The Guardian described as a move that “paves the way for plates to become wrigglier, leggier and more sustainable” and as “a sign of things to come.”

In a July 8 announcement, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) approved the 16 insects, which include silkworm pupa and mealworm, “With immediate effect.”

“These insects and insect products can be used for human consumption or as animal feed for food producing animals,” the SFA stated.

Countries and entities such as the United Kingdom (U.K.), Australia and the European Union (EU) have already approved some insects for human consumption. However, in the U.S. existing regulations contain few references specifically addressing insects.

This regulatory gap has enabled an ecosystem of “alternative protein” startups to enter the insect food market — with the backing of figures such as Bill Gates and government agencies including the United Nations (U.N.) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the National Science Foundation.

“The United Nations Food And Agricultural Organisation (FAO) continues to promote insect consumption as an environmentally friendly way to get protein in your diet — for both humans and their livestock,” The Guardian reported.

Proponents of insects as food for humans, including the FAO, argue this will help combat climate change, as insects produce a smaller carbon footprint than traditional livestock. But critics challenge this view.

“The justification for insects is to produce protein using fewer inputs: to save the planet by reducing climate change, methane from cows, less pollution,” internist Dr. Meryl Nass, founder of Door to Freedom, told The Defender. “But just because it is protein doesn’t mean it’s good for us.”

Nass cited parasites that could be spread by insects, difficulties in digesting insects, and common allergies to chitin — commonly found on the exoskeleton of insects.

According to Nass, lax U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, under which many insects can be classified as “Generally Regarded as Safe” (GRAS), “means they don’t require testing” and enables the FDA to “look the other way.” This has opened the door for insect foods to reach consumers.

“How long will it take before we learn whether these foods are safe? It could take generations,” Nass said.

“Advocates for mass consumption of insect-based foods would like you to believe that bugs have been a reliable source of protein for thousands of years,” said Seamus Bruner, author of “Controligarchs: Exposing the Billionaire Class, their Secret Deals, and the Globalist Plot to Dominate Your Life.”

Bruner, who also is director of research at the Government Accountability Institute, told The Defender:

“While that is true, malnutrition and disease were also endemic and life expectancies were dramatically lower than they are today. The truth is that beef, pork, poultry and other animal-based foods are the most efficient and healthy sources of protein. These climate fanatics pushing insect-based foods are scaring people into adopting less healthy diets.”

Dutch journalist Elze van Hamelen told The Defender that using insect ingredients for pet food also poses a risk to public health, citing a 2019 study that found parasites in 244 of 300 insect farms and pet stores that were investigated.

“Feeding pets with parasite-infested insects, especially pets that do not have the physiology to digest bugs, may not be such a good idea,” van Hamelen said.

Michael Rectenwald, Ph.D., author of “The Great Reset and the Struggle for Liberty: Unraveling the Global Agenda,” told The Defender, “The insect craze is intimately connected to the U.N.’s Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”

Rectenwald cited two SDGs: SDG 2, “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture” and SDG 12, “Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.”

“’Sustainability’ is code language for coerced reductions in consumption and forced behavioral modifications,” Rectenwald said.

Nass said the U.N., along with the World Economic Forum (WEF), “promote the so-called SDGs, which can supposedly be met if we change our diet.” Yet, “We don’t see the WEF or U.N. attendees eating insects at their meetings.”

Nass suggested that one reason behind the shift to insects as food is “to cause emotional harm: to degrade, debase, downgrade human beings” and that beef is “being demonized,” potentially to “weaken the species.”

“The idea seems to be to get rid of small producers and create a fully industrialized system of food production that Cargill, ConAgra, PepsiCo will profit from,” she added.

“Bill Gates claims his investments in alternative proteins are to save the planet,” Bruner said. “What he does not say is that they are part of a strategy to monopolize the protein industry — for profit — as he lobbies to ban animal-based competition.”

Insect Firms in Singapore ‘Educating’ Children About Insects as a Food Source

The 16 insects Singapore’s SFA has approved include “various species of crickets, grasshoppers, locusts, mealworms and silkworms,” The Straits Times reported. According to The Guardian, foods containing insects must clearly label this on the packaging, “to indicate the true nature of the product.”

The Straits Times reported that local restaurant chain House of Seafood is already “cooking up a menu of 30 insect-infused dishes to give customers more choice,” while other firms have begun “educating consumers” — including children — about insects as a food source for humans.

The report cited the example of Altimate Nutrition which, “While waiting for SFA’s regulatory approval … conducted workshops and educational sessions at almost a hundred schools, from pre-schools to institutes of higher learning.”

Surveys conducted after the program found that about 80% of students would be willing to try the insects after they are approved, The Straits Times reported.

But Bruner said other factors are likely at play in Singapore.

“The WEF — perhaps the largest driving force behind so-called ‘alternative proteins’ — frequently touts Singapore’s compliance with Agenda 2030, so the decision to prioritize insect-based foods is not surprising,” he said.

EU, U.K., Australia and Other Countries Approve Insects for Consumption

Authorities in the EU, U.K. and Australia, among other countries, have also approved certain insects for human consumption.

Brussels Signal cited Ermolaos Ververis, scientific officer for the European Food Safety Authority Novel Foods Team, who said the EU has authorized six insects: “Alphitobius diaperinus larvae products, dried mealworms, whole and ground yellow mealworms, whole and ground Grasshoppers, whole and ground crickets, and partially defatted Whole Cricket Powder.”

Eight applications are still pending in the EU, where according to EU regulations, foods containing insects must be clearly labeled.

Brussels Signal reported that under Horizon Europe, a European Commission — the executive branch of the EU funding program for research and innovation — “insect-based proteins are considered one of the key areas of research.”

U.K. authorities have approved four insects for human consumption — yellow mealworm, house cricket, banded cricket and black soldier fly, as “novel foods,” while Australia has approved three species: two varieties of mealworm and a cricket.

According to the FAO, there are more than 1,900 “edible insect species.” However, insects don’t appear to be included in the FAO’s Codex Alimentarius — its international food safety guidelines.

    ‘Nudging’ the Public Toward Acceptance

Several studies, including a 2020 report by the European Consumer Organisation, a 2021 YouGov poll and a 2022 report by UBA, Germany’s environmental agency, suggest low demand among the public for consuming foods containing insects.

Other studies in 2020 and 2022 suggested people would be more willing to shift their attitudes after being told about the “environmental benefits” of eating insects.

The 2020 study suggested that “nudging” — a behavioral science concept supported by the National Science Foundation — could be used to this end. “As humans are a particularly social species, leveraging the social nature may prove particularly useful,” the study said.

In a 2021 European Food Safety Authority report, Giovanni Sogari, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Food and Drug at the University of Parma in Italy, suggested, “There are cognitive reasons derived from our social and cultural experiences, the so-called ‘yuck factor’, that make the thought of eating insects repellent to many Europeans. With time and exposure such attitudes can change.”

And Lies Hackelbracht, the owner of TOR Royal, an insect production company in Belgium, told Euronews in 2021, “When we are 9 billion people, it won’t be possible to let everybody eat meat, so we have to search for other possibilities with a lot of protein and it can be in plants, but it can also be in insects.”

“Advocates for mass consumption of insect-based foods would like you to believe that bugs have been a reliable source of protein for thousands of years,” said Seamus Bruner, author of “Controligarchs: Exposing the Billionaire Class, their Secret Deals, and the Globalist Plot to Dominate Your Life.” Bruner, who also is director of research at the Government Accountability Institute, told The Defender: “While that is true, malnutrition and disease were also endemic and life expectancies were dramatically lower than they are today. The truth is that beef, pork, poultry and other animal-based foods are the most efficient and healthy sources of protein. These climate fanatics pushing insect-based foods are scaring people into adopting less healthy diets.” Dutch journalist Elze van Hamelen told The Defender that using insect ingredients for pet food also poses a risk to public health, citing a 2019 study that found parasites in 244 of 300 insect farms and pet stores that were investigated. “Feeding pets with parasite-infested insects, especially pets that do not have the physiology to digest bugs, may not be such a good idea,” van Hamelen said. Michael Rectenwald, Ph.D., author of “The Great Reset and the Struggle for Liberty: Unraveling the Global Agenda,” told The Defender, “The insect craze is intimately connected to the U.N.’s Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” Rectenwald cited two SDGs: SDG 2, “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture” and SDG 12, “Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.” “’Sustainability’ is code language for coerced reductions in consumption and forced behavioral modifications,” Rectenwald said. Nass said the U.N., along with the World Economic Forum (WEF), “promote the so-called SDGs, which can supposedly be met if we change our diet.” Yet, “We don’t see the WEF or U.N. attendees eating insects at their meetings.” Nass suggested that one reason behind the shift to insects as food is “to cause emotional harm: to degrade, debase, downgrade human beings” and that beef is “being demonized,” potentially to “weaken the species.” “The idea seems to be to get rid of small producers and create a fully industrialized system of food production that Cargill, ConAgra, PepsiCo will profit from,” she added. “Bill Gates claims his investments in alternative proteins are to save the planet,” Bruner said. “What he does not say is that they are part of a strategy to monopolize the protein industry — for profit — as he lobbies to ban animal-based competition.” Insect Firms in Singapore ‘Educating’ Children About Insects as a Food Source The 16 insects Singapore’s SFA has approved include “various species of crickets, grasshoppers, locusts, mealworms and silkworms,” The Straits Times reported. According to The Guardian, foods containing insects must clearly label this on the packaging, “to indicate the true nature of the product.” The Straits Times reported that local restaurant chain House of Seafood is already “cooking up a menu of 30 insect-infused dishes to give customers more choice,” while other firms have begun “educating consumers” — including children — about insects as a food source for humans. The report cited the example of Altimate Nutrition which, “While waiting for SFA’s regulatory approval … conducted workshops and educational sessions at almost a hundred schools, from pre-schools to institutes of higher learning.” Surveys conducted after the program found that about 80% of students would be willing to try the insects after they are approved, The Straits Times reported. EU, U.K., Australia and Other Countries Approve Insects for Consumption Authorities in the EU, U.K. and Australia, among other countries, have also approved certain insects for human consumption. Brussels Signal cited Ermolaos Ververis, scientific officer for the European Food Safety Authority Novel Foods Team, who said the EU has authorized six insects: “Alphitobius diaperinus larvae products, dried mealworms, whole and ground yellow mealworms, whole and ground Grasshoppers, whole and ground crickets, and partially defatted Whole Cricket Powder.” Eight applications are still pending in the EU, where according to EU regulations, foods containing insects must be clearly labeled. Brussels Signal reported that under Horizon Europe, a European Commission — the executive branch of the EU funding program for research and innovation — “insect-based proteins are considered one of the key areas of research.” U.K. authorities have approved four insects for human consumption — yellow mealworm, house cricket, banded cricket and black soldier fly, as “novel foods,” while Australia has approved three species: two varieties of mealworm and a cricket. According to the FAO, there are more than 1,900 “edible insect species.” However, insects don’t appear to be included in the FAO’s Codex Alimentarius — its international food safety guidelines. ‘Nudging’ the Public Toward Acceptance Several studies, including a 2020 report by the European Consumer Organisation, a 2021 YouGov poll and a 2022 report by UBA, Germany’s environmental agency, suggest low demand among the public for consuming foods containing insects. With time and exposure such attitudes can change.” And Lies Hackelbracht, the owner of TOR Royal, an insect production company in Belgium, told Euronews in 2021, “When we are 9 billion people, it won’t be possible to let everybody eat meat, so we have to search for other possibilities with a lot of protein and it can be in plants, but it can also be in insects.” * Click the share button below to email/forward this article to your friends and colleagues.
