A while ago I started grating the orange and lemon zest before consuming them. Grated zest will dry out and will turn into a golden powder. When making cakes, smoothies, or other dishes, having it on hand is a massive benefit for me. The only consideration is that fruits should be organic and thoroughly cleaned.
