1. What is Genesis Block

The word Genesis is used to refer to the beginning of something. In Religion, it refers to the beginning of creation and life as we know it - the beginning of the beginning. The word also means the same thing in Blockchain terms.

Simply put, The Genesis Block is the first ever block of a blockchain. It is the Adam of all blocks having no previous hash or ancestry behind it. As the original, it is the common history of every other block on the blockchain. It indirectly defines the hash of other blocks with its hash referenced in every new block.

The Genesis Block of a Blockchain is regarded as the foundation of that blockchain. It is usually depicted as Block 0 on the Blockchain but some Blockchains refer to it as Block 1.

Now we have known what The Genesis Block is, let us look at the Bitcoin Genesis Block.

2. WHAT IS BITCOIN GENESIS BLOCK

In the beginning, there was fiat money and a conventional banking system. The Government controlled the whole financial system with their policies. Money and value were centralized.

But then, in 2008, the Bitcoin Whitepaper was published with promising details of a decentralized digital cash system strictly on a peer-to-peer level. The dream was realized on the 3rd of January, 2009 when the anonymous Bitcoin founder(s), Satoshi Nakamoto, made a Bitcoin transaction giving birth to Block 0, the Bitcoin Genesis Block. This single event would later lead to a wide creation and adoption of cryptocurrencies which is still happening 12 years later.

Mining the Genesis Block was easier than what we have today and the reward was a lot higher. The reward for mining a block today is 6.25BTC while that of the Genesis Block was 50BTC.

Genesis 19:17 says

When they were safely out of the city, one of the angels ordered, “Run for your lives! And don’t look back or stop anywhere in the valley! Escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”
When the angels were rushing to get Lot and his family out the city, Lot asked the husbands of his daughters to run but they thought it was only a joke. To save time, THE ANGELS SEIZED THE HANDS OF LOT AND HIS WIFE AND HIS DAUGHTERS AND THEY BROUGHT THEM SAFELY OUT OF THE CITY.

We parted with an admonition not to be found where we know God wouldn't want us to be... either indulging in sin,or deriving pleasure from those therein(Rom.1:32)

You see, depending on the level of our relationship with Him,God always gives us information and directions that are meant to protect us from harm's way...but more often than not,we flout those lifesaving hints and facts. Yet ,when the harm comes,we cry *why me*

Even at times,out of Love for His Masterpiece,God takes the initiative to*seize*our hand to save us, as we read above. Still in many instances, the uncurbed default nature of Man,will yet resist. Lot's wife was already out of danger by God's providence,but she resisted,by *LOOKING BACK* This is happening to all of us today,in our different capacities...so,stop pointing fingers at Lot's wife! *IT TAKES LESS THAN A SECOND TO LOOK BACK!*

But must we continue to look back by resisting God's Purpose for us? Brethren,the consequences of looking back,is better Imagined than experienced !
The cost for Lot's wife, was her life...it didn't end there,it denied the family a motherly guidance that resulted in the abomination (incest) that plagued the family via her wanton daughters.

When God saves, we have this tendency to look back. Why? I’m certain we do it for different reasons, but it also
means different consequences for us...we shall be considering first,some of the reasons why we often *look back*

Remember Lot’s wife. (Luk 17: 32)

Perhaps, the verse above should be the second shortest verse in the Bible, after *And Jesus wept* in John 11! And both verses attributed to Christ Jesus are laden with ominous undertones.

Lord Christ Jesus,in your Name,I ask for mercy and grace,which only is capable of breaking into pieces out hearts of stone,that Your Word might sink into us, and re-mould us into Your desired shape,Amen !

Hardly is there any Christian who hasn't heard of Lot and his family. Equally,is there hardly any Christian who hasn't made the same dangerous mistake Lot's wife made,at one point or the other, that's if we are sincere with ourselves. We have,but escaped because of *GRACE* unlike Lot's wife,for at that time grace wasn't readily available as It is today.

And that *GRACE* we are wilfully ABUSING today. Everything about this hardly known Lot's wife,speaks of the love,lust and unbridled attachment to material prosperity...*THE VERY AND SAME ALLURES SPEEDILY BUT STEADILY SINKING THE PRESENT MATERIAL WORLD*

The story of Lot’s wife in the Old Testament is a great lesson to all believers on how we should live our Christian lives of no compromise or looking back like Lot’s wife did.

Lot’s wife is a great example that we can learn from when dealing with temptation or sinning. It is important for us as Christians to have faith in God’s promises and trust Him as He leads us through life’s trials and tribulations.

The bible verse, “but Lot’s wife looked back and she became a pillar of salt,” in Genesis 19:26 reminds us of the danger of looking back as believers.

It is why our Lord Jesus Christ tells us we must remember Lot’s wife whenever we think of looking back or turning to the world we once forsook if we are not to end up like her.

Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt and perished because her heart was still in Sodom even if she was out of Sodom and Gomorrah as she couldn’t stand the things she left there getting destroyed by fire.

Allow me to point out the effect of whom we associate with here, before we move on.
It's said *Birds of the same feather flock together* This is true of Papa Lot, and if he makes it Home, it's certainly by GRACE.

It's evident that Lot's wife is at home with the ways of the world,but her husband wasn't innocent either. Because,when his Uncle(Abraham) who has been fully responsible for him since he lost his parents,decided to avoid further conflicts between their herdsmen by dividing the land...a land that was Abraham's by entitlement,*HE COULDN'T ACCORD THAT UNCLE THE RESPECT OF CHOOSING FIRST(EVEN IF IT'S BY PRETENCE)*

No,he didn't. Rather, because of his covetousness, greediness and selfishness,he went ahead and chose the greener pastures, without blinking an eye, or caring about the remaining side that was like a forsaken land...he didn't care a hoot about a man who has sacrificed so much for him... little did he realise that*ALL THAT GLITTER IS NOT GOLD*

He didn't know he chose death...first, he was captured,it took his Uncle again with his 300 servants to rescue him from either slavery or death. Then,came God's destruction, and again,his ever forgiving uncle ,stood his ground with God to appeal for his safety,which God granted because of Abraham,but nearly scuttled by himself.

So,it isn't far-fetched how made out with his wife, they're one of a kind. Thus, I must CONFESSED I wasn't satisfied with the title bestowed upon him by Apostle Peter;

7. And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8. (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, VEXED his RIGHTEOUS soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) (2Pe 2: 7-8)
