The Ati-Atihan festival is a Philippine festival held annually in January in honor of the Santo Niño (Holy Child or Infant Jesus) in several towns of the province of Aklan, Panay Island. The biggest celebration is held during the third Sunday of January in the town of Kalibo, the province's capital. The name Ati-Atihan means "to imitate the Ati people".
The festival consists of religious processions and street-parades, showcasing themed floats, dancing groups wearing colorful costumes, marching bands, and people sporting face and body paints. The street parade is known as Sadsad, which is also what the locals call their way of dancing where the foot is momentarily dragged along the ground in tune to the beat played by the marching bands. It has inspired other Philippine Festivals such as Dinagyang of Iloilo and Sinulog of Cebu, thus, it is known as the "Mother of All Philippine Festivals.

  • PH.D Lesson Number 1:
    #PhilippineArchipelago
Located in the Pacific Ocean near the equator, the Republic of the Philippines consists of around 7,640 islands — about 2,000 of which are inhabited — that form an archipelago. The country can be divided into three main areas: Luzon (the largest, northernmost island, which includes Manila); a group of islands called the Visayas (including the major islands Panay, Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Samar, and Masbate); and Mindanao, the second-largest island in the Philippines, found at the southern end of the archipelago. Mama E's province is part of LUZON ISLAND.
From bustling cities to stunning beaches and mountains, the Philippines has a lot to offer adventurous explorers.

  • Anyone watch One Piece?
As an anarchist, i began seeing ALOT of anarchist elements and themes in both the main plots, and just tidbits of side plots. The shadow intelligence agency that just tried to frame luffy and the strawhats for the murder of aship building colony's mayor, who possesses blue prints for an ancient secret weapon/battleshit has me convinced the creator is an anarchist. They were sent by the antagonist world government.
When it turns out the masked assassins are actually embedded shipwrights who were working there for 5 years to get closer to the mayor, one of the shipwrights, the mayors right hand man of sorts, ends up with some dialouge in episode 244 - gonna give an excerpt here because i appreciated the message:
"We will achieve our goal by anymeans necessary, so if you're thinking or resisting for the sake of being difficult, I suggest you be considerate, for your own good as well as ours....I assume You're already familiar with 'Cipher Pol', its the government's supreme intelligence agency with 8 branches. The worldwide bases are known as CP1 through CP8. Together they serve as the governments eyes and ears at every corner of the globe."
"Of course I know, but how do everyone of you fit into that picture"
"Good question, as the 9th "Cipher Pol" unit, we officially do not exist, and by virtue of that, we possess a certain privilege that others lack, one the necesitates a bit of secrecy."
    "Privilege?"
"That's right, consider it a blade we wield in the name of justice, if a citizen is uncoperative towards the government, we have permission to execute them."
"You fools! You cant use justice as an excuse for murder!"
"Recently, the government has been forced to change its way of thinking. For example, rather than fearing Pluton's revival, they have decided to awaken it themselves - to use the ancient weapon as a force of justice that can bring an end to this great pirate era. And now you want to stand in the way, its as if you have no sympathy for all the people who have been victimized by pirates. You should reconsider where your loyalties lie."
"Don't kid yourself, if the weapon is restored, the world is going to fight over its power. It will only breed more destruction."
"Are you saying that you don't trust the government Mr.Iceburg? That would be a shame."
"Its human nature i dont trust. I just know the nature of humans."

  • I need all of you to watch this video and tell me what you think. I had no clue that people getting infected by Germs was no more than a mere Theory. The person that made this video has sources and research papers to back his position.
