• LIFE IN A STORMY WORLD THAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN OFF BY GOD !(2PT.3:7-13)

    WHY ME, LORD? BUT, IF ISN'T ME,THEN WHO? (JOB 7:19-21)

    FOR THOSE,WHO ARE TOLERANT OR UNBIASED ENOUGH TO READ WHAT I (WE) WRITE , I'VE ALWAYS SAID THAT I'M AN AUTHORITY ON THIS TOPIC OF CHRISTIAN SUFFERING, BECAUSE I'M RIGHT IN IT AND WRITE FROM WITHIN ITS CONFINES.

    With confidence,I can declare by His Grace and Mercy that, more than 3/4 of my average time on earth so far,has been spent in pains,but I haven't let go off God. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IS THAT, GOD MADE ME A LIVING TESTIMONY THAT HAS TOUCHED MANY LIVES, WHO ARE CURRENTLY BURNING FOR GOD...you know the message?

    If I,in my condition can hold on to God, and God is answering my prayers for others, without even praying for myself anymore, THEN, THEY TOO PASSING THROUGH THE SAME SCOURGE AS I , CAN HOLD ON...AND QUITE A FEW ARE PERMANENTLY HEALED AND SPREADING THE GOSPEL WITH SIGNS AND WONDERS FOLLOWING THEM(GENUINE SIGNS AND WONDERS)

    If I was to go against God's Will and monetize this great God given privilege(online ministry), I wouldn't be here today...my worldly cares would have been catered for,but for how long. IT'S THE REASON I CHOOSE TO BEG FEW TRUSTED HANDS GOD MADE AVAILABLE FOR ME WHEN I NEED HELP. AND IF, THE HELP DOESN'T COME, *I EQUALLY HAVE FOOLIHHLY ASKED THE SAME QUESTION,"WHY ME LORD?" ONLY TO REGRET LATER!* This inspite of knowing that;

    My ministry ends the moment I monetize it,for He provides for its continuation,even though I have been bedridden for about seven years. SO, AGAIN, I MAINTAIN BY HIS GRACE AND MERCY, *I'M AN AUTHORITY IN THIS SUBJECT OF CHRISTIAN SUFFERING !*

    Having introduced the subject, let's go ;
    Even before the world got to its CURRENT PRECARIOUS POSITION,events have taken place in centuries past,in the lives of God's Children in His service who has come under crucial trials and persecutions of various categories. THIS HAS CAUSED MANY TO QUESTION THE VALIDITY OF GOD AND HIS EXISTENCE , OR EVEN THE NEED TO SERVE HIM;

    14. You have said, It is no use worshipping God: what profit have we had from keeping his orders, and going in clothing of sorrow before the Lord of armies?
    15. And now to us the men of pride seem happy; yes, the evil-doers are doing well; they put God to the test and are safe. (Mal 3: 13-15)

    So,you as a believer asking the same today , hasn't said anything that hasn't been said before... indeed it's not necessarily a sin. BUT IT BECOMES A SIN WHEN WE ALLOW IT TO INTERFERE WITH OUR FAITH IN GOD... THAT'S SELF- CENTRED ENVY...
    *IT BECOMES, IF YOU DON'T WANT IT TO BE YOU, THEN,WHO DO YOU WANT IT FOR?*

    This is my story( finding it difficult to forgive myself for the heinous pains I caused others before Christ Jesus found me... perhaps some of them died with the pains)

    So,if I asked God why me, I'm asking God it should be someone else so that I can revel...A SIN IN GOD'S SIGHT.

    17. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
    18. Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. (Pro 24: 17-18)

    YOU SEE,AS STRICTLY FAITHFUL PRCTISING CHRISTIANS, SO MANY UNWANTED OR UNFORESEEN THINGS HAPPEN TO US THAT BRINGS A LOT OF QUESTIONS..."WHY ME GOD?"

    Look at what Job said(he's one of the greatest symbols of trials and afflictions in the Scriptures);
    19. How long wilt thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?
    20. I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself?
    21. And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be(Job 7:19-21)

    Now, if we’re honest, we've all probably voiced (or at least thought) that question at some point in our lives, especially during times of extreme pressure or pain.

    Like the verses above,over 3,000 years ago, a man named Job asked God that question during a time of personal tragedy and suffering. The Lord answered him, and His response is recorded in the Old Testament book of Job. Like all the Old Testament Scriptures,(even to those who don't believe in the Old Testament,) this account was written for our benefit;

    For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Rom 15: 4)

    So let's look at the story of Job to see how it applies to our "Why me?" questions today.

    I REALLY DO WANT TO CLARIFY HERE THAT, I'M NOT DELVING INTO THEOLOGY, TO BRING THE PHILOSOPHY OF THEODICY INTO THIS.

    I want us to study God's Word,that has no private interpretation for what IT is... GOD'S WORD...SETTLED IN HEAVEN!

    "WHY ME, LORD?" is really part of a much larger question in the book of Job: *How can a GOOD and ALL-POWERFUL GOD ALLOW SUFFERING?*

    That question is asked often these days, especially when the news revolves around the suffering of "innocent” or seemingly “good" people. A defense of God's Goodness and Omnipotence in spite of apparent inconsistencies doesn't comfort nor convince the carnal mind much. But whether we believe it or not, God’s goodness is vindicated even in the midst of suffering. A bitter pill to swallow...yes...but the bitter pill, we may be compelled to swallow, does its work well for us.

    The whole book of Job deals with the purpose of suffering in the life of the believer. It helps us to understand that God allows suffering to accomplish His Good Purposes in our lives. Although the Book is not an exhaustive study for all the ways in which God uses suffering for our good, some answers to the *Why me,Lord?* question will clearly emerge.
    When we return,by His Grace and Mercy, we shall consider some reasons why it should be us!

  • EVEN IN A GOD REJECTED WORLD, HIS PRINCIPLES REMAIN UNTAINTED !

    GOD HAS AN ONGOING PROCESS!

    I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (Joh 10: 9)

    Truly of late,many have seen me in a seemingly pity party state... drowning in depression, and seeming to come out,only to go right in again. Yes,your prayers are coveted and highly valued. But, it's a process that is very hard for me as a mere bundle of flesh not to groan or agonized in. It doesn't mean I've lost faith,rather,it increased even in my excruciating pains.

    When God has a plan and a purpose for an individual, in order to fulfill it and bring it to completion, they must go through a special process where their qualities will be refined.

    Every believer has a calling, a plan in their life, and was created with a divine purpose. But it cannot be overlooked that there is a time when God prepares us. This is a process that every man and woman of God must go through and cannot bypass. Sometimes, certain of us skip or fast-forward the process and, as a result, we end up in failure and shame.

    Something happens between the moment of being called and the moment of being sent. Some of us do not wait to be sent...we send ourselves.
    There are people who truly have a genuine calling from God, but the time of calling is not the same as the time of being sent. So, what is the process that a man or woman must go through when God calls them into His service?

    When God has a plan and a purpose for an individual, to fulfill it and bring it to completion, they must go through a special process in which their qualities will be polished and everything that is not useful or that hinders will be removed from their life.

    Anyone who tries to skip the process, God will send back to the starting point. BUT MOST OF US DEFY GOD AND REFUSED TO BE SENT TO THE STARTING POINT, FEELING TOO BIG OR ASHAMED TO BE CORRECTED BY HE WHO HAS THE WORK.
    Under such circumstances, we go extra miles to help ourselves and get highly scathed in process... oftentimes, to the point of no return to Grace

    God Calls You or Me;
    As we realized earlier, God is the One who makes the call; it is not an organization(denomination or Bible University) nor a man. There are many people who have called themselves and have placed themselves in some ministerial office, and because of that, they have failed. God does things differently. Let’s look at what the Word says.

    "And no one takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was."
    Hebrews 5:4

    God calls His purpose in our life "honor" and "privilege," considering that only He can give it. The only thing we need to do when He calls us and invites us to fulfill His calling is to say, “Yes, Lord, here I am.” Being called by God to fulfill His Purpose or His will is only the beginning of the process. After being called, it can take years before the person is sent to fulfill it. This is where the enemy sows the seed of impatience.

    Many make the mistake of leaving as soon as they receive the call, and because of that, they fail. IT TOOK MOSES EIGHTY YEARS...HOW MANY YEARS HAVE WE SPENT IN OUR OWN PREPARATION THAT MAKES GOD SEEMS UNFAIR AND UNJUST?

    How Does God Call a Believer to Ministry to Fulfill His Purpose?
    The entire Bible exhorts us that regardless of our bloodline, talents, gender, or marital status, once we have accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour,(ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM,MANY OF US ACCEPT THE SAVIOUR PART,BUT NOT THE "LORD" PART), there is a calling from God for each one of us; with that calling comes the training, through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let’s return to the question: How does God call us? There are different ways through which God calls us, and we can find them in both the New and Old Testaments. God can call us through:

    The inner testimony: A strong feeling, a perception in our hearts.
    A vision: As it happened with Paul.
    A dream: God can give us a dream to show us our calling.
    A prophecy: Received personally or given by one or more prophets.
    A Scripture given by the Lord.
    A supernatural visitation from God.
    An audible voice from the Holy Spirit: As it was with Samuel.

    The Excuses and Responses of Man in the Face of God's Call;

    Let’s look at some excuses that some men gave in response to the Lord’s calling, which are the same excuses we give today:

    Considering Oneself Unworthy
    Moses' first response to God's call was that he was not worthy because of his flaws and weaknesses. Like him, we often think ourselves unworthy to be called to fulfill that purpose.

    "Then Moses said to God, 'Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?'"
    Exodus 3:11

    Fear of Rejection
    "Then Moses answered and said, 'But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, "The Lord has not appeared to you."
    Exodus 4:1

    Moses feared that the people of Israel would reject him and not listen to him. Rejection is part of success, and not everyone will receive us. Some will reject us, but that cannot be an excuse for not fulfilling our calling.

    The Excuse of Unbelief
    Another of Moses' excuse in the face of God's calling was his doubt about his calling. He thought the people of Israel would not listen to him or believe him. When God places a calling on your life, people will listen because you will always have something to say or a message to give. God will give you the grace to make people want to listen to you, and He will also give you a people to speak to.

    In response to Moses' excuses, God gave him three signs:

    The staff turned into a serpent (Exodus 4:2).
    His hand became leprous (Exodus 4:6).
    The water turned into blood (Exodus 4:8, 9).

    God will confirm your calling with convincing signs that He is with you and that your calling is genuine. If you have doubts about your calling, ask the Lord to confirm it with physical and supernatural signs, and He will do it.

    The Excuse of Inability to Speak
    "Then Moses said to the Lord, 'O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.'"
    Exodus 4:10

    God’s response to Moses was:

    "So the Lord said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?'"
    Exodus 4:11

    The Excuse of Inferiority Complex; *THIS IS DIRECTLY MY WEAKEST WEAKNESS...TILL TODAY, EVENTS IN MY LIFE HAS MADE ME A SLAVE TO THE DEVIL'S INSINUATIONS ( EVEN IN THE MIDST OF TESTIMONIES FROM OTHERS) INFACT, IT NOW BORDERS ON STUBBORNNESS...MAY HE FORGIVE ME!

    "But he said, 'O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.'"
    Exodus 4:13

    Sometimes, we suggest to God that He send someone else who we think is more qualified than us. This is not about who runs, but about whom God has mercy on.

    The Excuse of Being Young
    "Then I said, 'Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth!'"
    Jeremiah 1:6

    The Lord replied:

    "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak."
    Jeremiah 1:7

    The Excuse of Family Background
    "So he said to Him, 'O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.'"
    Judges 6:15

    The question I ask you and myself today is: What is our excuse in the face of God’s calling? How will we respond to the Lord when He calls us? Are we willing to place something we love on the altar?

    May God help us to respond appropriately in Christ Jesus' Name,Amen!

  • I WOULD LOVE LOVE TO LET SLEEPING DOGS, BUT THIS BY AN AVOWED CALVINIST.

    This Calvinist’s Problem with “Once Saved, Always Saved”(SIC)
    by C Michael Patton

    I have often said that it is easier to tell when someone is a true Christian than to tell when they are not. In other words, some people wear their convictions on their sleeve.

    The power of the Holy Spirit could not be more clearly visible. With these people, their passion, understanding, grace, humility, and faith are clearly evident in everything they do. I know and can state with a great degree of confidence that they trust in Christ and are saved.

    They are in the race and they are running. For others, however, it is more difficult to tell. They may say they are saved, but I do not have the same degree of confidence. They may be convinced, but I am not. I am not asserting they are not saved. I just don’t know. Some people live in a perpetual state of doubt, failure, and terrible sin.

    They may be in the race, but they are not running. However, even when they are at their worst, I cannot confidently say that they are not saved any more than I can say that the previous individuals are saved.

    Many people contact me, because they are overwhelmed with the fear that they are not saved. They seek assurance from me that God has saved them.

    My background, training, and tradition all push me to reassure them in the attempt to alleviate their doubts and fears to the end that they are secure in their salvation and can never lose this security.

    After all, I believe that without security, we have never really embraced the fullness of the Gospel message. However, there is a flip side to this coin. And it is this other side that I wish to address.

    I have someone who I can’t figure out. Conversations with him are always very frustrating. I just want to crack his head open and see what is inside. I want to gaze where only God can see. I want to know if he really knows Christ. My heart says, “I hope!” but my mind says, “I don’t know. I doubt it.”

    If you were to look at the life of this friend, you would not suspect that he has ever approached the throne room of God. You would not suspect that he has ever bowed humbly at the cross, understood his own condition, or asked the Lord for mercy. I have never seen him read his Bible, and I have never heard him honor Christ with his words.

    His life appears to be a never-ending pursuit of what the world has to offer. Moreover, this attitude shows evidence of trying to maintain complete control over his emotional state. Comforting him with spiritual talk is a seemingly futile exercise, especially when I receive a ridiculing gaze and awkward silence when I attempt to discuss the issue with him.

    Yet, when push comes to shove, this guy will give me his testimony. Every once in a while he will tell me why I don’t need to be worried about his spiritual condition. He will confidently tell me of the time when he was twelve years old and walked the aisle at Church to accept the Gospel.

    Once his tale is complete, he has exhausted his ability to have a spiritual conversation and an awkward silence ensues. Is this guy saved? Can it be that he sincerely walked the aisle so long ago, yet has not flexed a spiritual muscle since? Why is he so secure in his salvation? In his office, there is one spiritual relic. It is an old piece of paper that hangs prominently by his desk entitled “The Believer’s Security.” On it are listed all of the passages of Scripture that give assurance that a believer cannot lose their salvation.

    This unqualified doctrine was something that he was taught immediately after his saving experience. This is what he banks on every day. I have changed quite a bit over the years with regards to the doctrine often called “eternal security” or “once saved, always saved.”

    Don’t start squirming, fellow Calvinists, there are not many things I believe in more strongly than the ultimate security of salvation. But I do believe there are some people who may need to squirm. I believe there are some people whose eternal destiny depends on their own insecurity.
    I WOULD LOVE LOVE TO LET SLEEPING DOGS, BUT THIS πŸ‘‡ BY AN AVOWED CALVINIST. πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯ This Calvinist’s Problem with “Once Saved, Always Saved”(SIC) by C Michael Patton πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯πŸš₯ I have often said that it is easier to tell when someone is a true Christian than to tell when they are not. I doubt it.” If you were to look at the life of this friend, you would not suspect that he has ever approached the throne room of God.
