Ok, so I sat in on today's AMA and asked quite a few questions. Mostly I got the answers I needed to hear and was pleased with the info presented. Let me summarize what I've learned in my own words.
It's very possible I misunderstood some or all of what I heard, so take this with a grain of salt. Also, much of what they presented was mostly hypothetical, so this may all change in the future.
-The investors inferred to in the DAO are Influencers or brands. possibly more than one. They didn't name names, which is an issue for me.
-These investors want to use the SME on the platform just like you and I. This was good to hear.
-The 1.25 billion is the top end and not set in stone. Details are still being worked out. The best-case scenario is that they only mint 500k SME and sell a few shares in the company.
-There will be a locked period and slow release of the coin, which includes a freeze on being able to sell and hopefully it will be given to them as staked coin. Beyond the locked period, it's possible (not agreed to yet) that they'll have to go through the 13 week power down period, just like everyone else.
-SoMee the company wants the ability to buy back these coins at a discount, which I'm not fond of. They may not have that option, but mentioned it was something they'd like to work out with the investor.
-There are more use cases being brainstormed for the governance SoMee erc20 token. One possibility is to make a wrapped version to be accessible on Hive Engine.
-They introduced Dallas( I forget his last name) as a new Community and Marketing Manager.
-We'll have direct access to him in a Discord chat. I wasn't too fond of this, because I don't/won't use Discord, but I understand the need at this time.
-I asked if Group Chats are going to be added here and didn't notice a reply. Things were moving kind of fast.
The rest was interesting and relevant, but I don't remember enough of the details to make sense of them for you. I hope this was informative.
My take? I think the money will be put to good use and the creators want SoMee to succeed. This early on keeping the SME price down is a good thing so the average person can buy in while the buying is good. I'm not done buying yet and wouldn't bother if it cost $100 per coin. The money itself will go further to helping SME moon than if it were used to buy up the whole market at this point.
