Spring has sprung in Virginia as some warmer days have brought buds and flower blooms that are surviving the cold nights. My first bloom of the new year is a yellow daffodil opening in the orange glow of the setting sun.

What is the herald of spring? Someone says it's when the snowdrops appear or when the hyacinth or daffodil bloom...
And me?
For me, the beginning of spring is the moment when the team (my friends and neighbors) play basketball on our court, and while doing so, they take off their shirts - a sure sign that there is no more winter and that only nice weather is ahead.
