The Fortin de la Magdalena, is located in Lechería Venezuela, and is a Spanish construction completed in 1799 and was used to defend the area from pirates and looters. It owes its name to the great chief of the Palenque tribe called Magdalena, in 1819 it was a point of entrance for the liberating troops. For years it was abandoned until in 2002 it was named historical heritage, and in 2010 it was completely remodeled for tourist use.
