Egypt rejects Iranian aid for Gaza at Israel's request
Humanitarian aid for the besieged people of Gaza has been slowly trickling in despite the urgency of the situation inside the enclave

Egypt has allegedly accepted Israel’s demands to block the delivery of 60 tons of humanitarian aid sent from Iran for the people of Gaza on 13 November.

According to political sources speaking on the condition of anonymity who spoke with Al-Mayadeen, Egyptian authorities “politely refused” the aid from Tehran, which included food, medical supplies, and medicines, due to requests from Tel Aviv.

This decision comes after Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi made a statement during the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh on Saturday that Muslims “should stand together” during these times of crisis in Palestine.

"Muslim countries should arm the Palestinian people. Resistance is the only answer to Israeli violence. Countries around the world, including Muslim ones, should ensure the protection of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories," Raisi said.

"Israel must immediately cease fighting in the Gaza Strip and withdraw its forces from there," Raisi added at the summit, stressing that Israel and the US should be put on trial for the genocide committed in Gaza.

Last week, the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s (IRCS) Hossein Kolivand highlighted Iran’s readiness to send aid to Gaza as the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen.

Kolivand told Egyptian authorities the need for “continuing support for the oppressed people of Gaza.” He noted that hospitals in Gaza need fuel, saying that the IRCS is fully prepared to send needed fuel to these healthcare facilities.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated on Sunday that they had to cease operations due to a lack of fuel.

As of 10 November, 11,078 Palestinians were killed due to Israeli bombings, 4,506 of whom were children, 3,027 women. Another 27,490 Palestinians have been injured.

"Negara-negara Muslim harusmempersenjatai rakyat Palestina.
