• Well, this is a bit petty and on a post that only states facts? Is this the best use of the [SomeeOfficial] account and the free #SME they minted to delegate out for #ProPAckages? On Hive it's customary to explain the reason for the downvote and is simply the grown-up thing to do. I obviously made the right decision to start a power down, but do have one more post or two to show that Community is not what the Company is interested in and only a select few of you matter to them.

You'll find a better community on Hive and the potential earnings will always be better there. As long as the #Company pushes their worthless packages with no mention of the Hive Engine Market, #SME will likely never reach its potential.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~The Importance of Staking Your SME~If You Are Selling SME, You're Not Only Getting Bottom Dollar, You're Throwing Away Earnings Every Time You Vote

Every day the #RewardsPool mints 2.3 million SME to distribute to those using their stake for your votes. The portion of the Rewards Pool you earn is dependent upon your #stake, how active you are on SoMee, the stake of the user you're upvoting and how many others are doing the same thing. The more users with stake #voting the less each user earns, because it's not split between more users as we grow. It's between the active stake, so those staking get an ever-growing piece of the pie. When SoMee hits 5 million users, those with the lowest stakes will be fighting for a measly percentage of just 1 SME. While those who continued to stake are earning 100's or even 1000's for just voting.

For every 6000 SME you sell, you lose around 9 SME per day in earnings if you use your full 10 100% votes daily. As others continue to build their stake and more people vote as the population grows, the more SMEP that's needed to equal 1 SME per vote. That means the 6000 SMEP that earns 1 SME per vote will continue to rise as more users sign on and stake SME. It won't be long before you need 10,000 SMEP per 1 SME earned or even 100,000.

To put that into perspective, a member with 600K SMEP generates about 900 SME per day through their 10 100% votes. 50% goes to you, so for every 600K you sell, you lose 450 SME per day in earnings. Just think about how much you're losing if you sell 6 million SME? Now think about how many dollars you are losing if SME hits 25,30, 50 cents or even a dollar. You might be throwing away life changing amounts of money. If you grow your stake large enough, you could eventually simply live off your upvotes and not even need to post.

This means that every little bit you sell now will cause you to lose 1000's of dollars or more in earnings over the course of a year. When the value of the coin increases, you could easily be losing 1000's of dollars per month or week. If you are not thinking ahead, your dreams of living off of your SoMee earnings or even just having a sizeable supplemental income through your activities will never materialize.

You should be staking your SME earnings as soon as they come in, so you can reap the full benefits of the #SoMeeEconomy. If not, you're flushing money down the toilet.

Note- All transactions are public and if you are always selling low, you are not helping the platform, nor the other users wanting the value to moon. Constantly selling, especially at a low price can hurt your reputation and cause you to lose votes, which translates into earnings or you could start receiving downvotes, which takes away earnings.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~The Importance of Keeping your Content Fresh, Interesting, Original and Informative. At the very least, Original and Interesting

The two main differences between FaceBook and #BlockchainSocials are that the majority of your friends and family aren't here and you earn through your content. In the rare case that all of your friends and family are here, this might not pertain to you, but if you want to earn more, you must gear your content towards those who don't know you personally. For this reason, selfies and close-ups of your latest dinner or drink probably won't interest most of your followers.

To get more upvotes you must figure out what your followers are interested in or find a way to make what you post more interesting for others. This not only means keeping your content fresh, but also making sure it has enough detail, so that others can learn something from it. If you consistently post close-up selfies or a picture of the beer you're drinking, your followers will get bored fast. On top of that, low effort descriptions aren't very helpful or interesting to the masses either.

Right now SoMee is pretty small, so competition is quite light. You may be getting enough upvotes to earn a decent amount now, but as the platform grows those upvotes will move to those putting more effort into their content. A picture of your lunch with a description simply saying 'Lunch' is going to get old fast and will probably result in your followers either unfollowing you or ignoring your content more and more. I'm upvoting posts I wouldn't normally want to compensate and that will change when more content creators sign up.

The key is to bring others somewhere new and give them information they may not already know. It's fine if you are in the photograph, but you shouldn't be the main focus. The scenery in the background is what most of your followers are interested in, your culture, the product you're using or even the food you're eating. The key is to give them some useful information about those things.

Instead of just showing us your 'Lunch', let us know if you made it or bought it from a restaurant. If so, what's it called? What special ingredients are used in it? Give us enough, so we can at least research it further on our own. We can't do that if you just tell us it's 'Lunch'.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~How Often Should I Post?

There's a fine line between posting enough to keep our followers interested while earning new ones and #spam. Right now, since the userbase is pretty small and because #ResourceCredits(#RCs) limit the number of votes we get, posting more than once during high traffic times is not going to help you grow much. It may actually hurt your growth.

We are limited to 10 100% votes a day and the more quality content that is posted as the userbase grows, means others are unlikely to upvote your content as much. Finding the right time to post is much more effective than posting as many times as you can throughout the day.

There isn't a lot of competition right now, so our content isn't becoming buried down the feed very fast. This means that for hours after you post, most of your followers are likely to see them.

If you post too much, it can be seen as annoying, spamming or trying to game the system, which might actually cause others to unfollow you. If I have to scroll through 10 low quality posts from one user just to find the good stuff by all the others I want to support, it's in my best interest to remove your content from clogging up my feed.

So, where is that fine line where I can get maximum exposure without annoying my followers?

Like I mentioned above, 1 post a day at the highest traffic time is the best. At the max, I would post three posts per day spaced out, so the maximum amount of SoMeeans will see it. That means no more than three with one posted in the morning, afternoon and after dinner. Any more than that and you risk losing followers and consequently, upvotes.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~ A Thumbs Up is the Only Appropriate Reaction to Give a Monetized Post, Here's Why;

While SoMee has so many more features than most other #BlockchainSocials, it's still in development. Right now, the only Reaction that adds monetary value to a monetized post is the #ThumbsUp. The #ThumbsDown actually takes away value. The other reactions are only there for looks, unless you want to use them to add emotion on a non-monetized post or any comment*. Even if your Vote Power is depleted, it's better to ignore a post and come back later than to drop a Heart or other Reaction on it. If a post is monetized, the author expects to earn through it.

Reacting to a post and not adding any monetary value to it can actually be disappointing to the author. You're essentially saying, "I like your post, but it doesn't deserve to earn!" Another way authors can perceive it is that you're wanting to get their attention for your benefit, but not theirs. This isn't what will happen. They will either continue to ignore your content or just drop non-monetized votes back. There are exceptions to every rule, but I can confidently say that many authors here are keeping score.

If you are going to React to a post in the positive, always use the Thumbs up, every time or just scroll on by, because any other reaction is unlikely to leave a positive impression. In the future, the Developers have said they will be monetizing the other #Reactions as well, but for now just consider them an unfinished feature and it's rude to use them.

*The only appropriate use of anything other than a Thumbs Up is on non-monetized posts or any comment. The reason they are appropriate for comments, even monetized ones is because your #VotingPower is limited and it's best to use them on Posts. They will go much further for your interactions if you always Thumbs Up a post over a comment. The best-case scenario is that everyone supports each other and we start commenting more. Let's put the social back into #SocialMedia.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~How to Most Effectively Use Your Voting Power for Maximum Returns~{Option 3 of 3} You Only Log in Before and After Work or School~The Top Option

There are three ways I structure my voting habits to make sure I'm earning as much as possible.

    3. If I'm going to be on before and after work, I'll use 10% VP before I leave and 10% when I return. Then before I go to bed, I make sure to run my VP down to 90% again. This way it's back up to 100% when I wake up in the morning and start all over again. Even if a lack of online time isn't an issue, it's best to limit your voting to morning, mid-afternoon and bedtime, so your VP is regenerated close to 100% each time. The key is not to allow your VP to sit at 100% for too long.

Out of the three options I've shared, this is the best way to earn the most from your votes. This is because you allow it to regenerate to the highest VP you can have, making sure more of your votes are at a higher value than the first two options I've shared.

    Here's a summary of how #VP or #VotingPower works.

If you are here to earn, the next best way to do so after posting quality content is to maximize your #VotingPower or #VP. There is a trick to this, because your VP is limited. You start off with 100% VP and each vote you make takes 2% away. Not only does it reduce your VP by 2%, but it reduces the value of your vote by the same. Your VP also regenerates at a rate of about 1.85% every two hours. Because of this regeneration, if you let your VP sit at 100% for any amount of time you are losing #PotentialEarnings.

Note: The more SME and Hive you have staked, the faster your VP regenerates as well.

Keeping your VP above 90% makes sure you are always giving as close to 100% of your vote's potential as consistently as possible and your VP regenerates at a faster rate than if you bring it below that amount.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~How to Most Effectively Use Your Voting Power for Maximum Returns~{Option 2 of 3} You Are Logged in All Day and Check SoMee Often

There are three ways I structure my voting habits to make sure I'm earning as much as possible.

    2. If I'm going to be on SoMee throughout the whole day, I bring my VP down to 90% when I wake up and vote throughout the day as it regenerates and before going to bed, I bring it down to 90% again.

If you keep your VP above 80% every day, it will be able to regenerate back to 100% daily. As long as you keep your VP regenerating from 90% you are never messing out on any rewards.

This is the second most effective way to earn through votes. It's not the most effective, because you don't let your VP regenerate as high as the third option, which I'll be sharing in the final post of this series.

    Here's a summary of how #VP or #VotingPower works.

If you are here to earn, the next best way to do so after posting quality content is to maximize your #VotingPower or #VP. There is a trick to this, because your VP is limited. You start off with 100% VP and each vote you make takes ~2% away. Not only does it reduce your VP by 2%, but it reduces the value of your vote by the same. Your VP also regenerates at a rate of about 1.85% every two hours. Because of this regeneration, if you let your VP sit at 100% for any amount of time you are losing #PotentialEarnings. Keeping your VP above 90% makes sure you are always giving as close to 100% of your votes potential as consistently as possible and your VP regenerates at a faster rate than if you bring it below that amount. There are three ways I structure my voting habits to make sure I'm earning as much as possible.

    1. If I know that I'll only be using SoMee once for a short period of time within a 24-hour period, I'll use 20% of my VP in one swoop. This is because that's how much it regenerates in 24 hours.

This option is more effective than not voting at all, but the least effective of the three options I'll be sharing. That's because the value of your vote reaches 80% of its potential. If you bring your VP down below 80% it will not fully regenerate by the next day and the lower it goes, the longer it takes to regenerate. Not only because it's drained further, but the lower you drain it, the less it regenerates per hour.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~How Much is a Vote Worth?

The value of your vote is determined by the amount of #SME you have staked, the stake of the SoMeean you are upvoting and how active both of you are on #SoMee. This of course is simplified, but it'll give you a good enough idea. Your activity on SoMee is called #Gravity.

Right now with the current stake amount in votes being used, a typical vote is worth on average 1 SME per 5700 SME staked or #SMEP. I came to this amount by watching the #votes of 4 different accounts that I have access to their information, like the #VoteStrength, SME Power(SMEP) they have and #VotePower they had when voting. Then I checked the SME value of the posts before and after the votes. Using some basic math, the range was between 5300-6100 SMEP per 1 SME of value per vote.

This is only valid as of this moment with the number of users and amount of staked SME in use on average. The amount will change as we grow, which I'll explain in another SoMee User Tip.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~The 4th and Most Important Reason to Visit the #Forums Section~ #ForumStatistics

This section is where you'll see the total number of #Threads, Replies to the threads and members. While this is labeled Forum Statistics, I believe the #Members total is for the site as a whole since the beginning. So, this does not represent the total number of accounts using the current iteration of #SoMee.

I signed up in the very beginning and received an email to check out the new site. This means SoMee has retained/saved the accounts of all the users who have ever signed up and is contacting them through email in an attempt bring them back. I had my account waiting for me. All I had to do was change my password.

That being said, if you use the current number and compare it to the new total daily, weekly, monthly or any time period you want, you can keep track of the new account numbers being created currently. For those of us wanting to see SoMee succeed, this statistic is the most important one to gauge our growth. For example- last week we saw 102 new accounts created. Couple this with the 'Who's Online" widget and we can watch SoMee grow before our eyes.
