He didn't press Esther to pressurize the king for a cabinet position...he yet sat at the gate. And when unholy cravings from Haman(because he refused to bow to him), began to weigh heavily on him,he didn't use his position as the Queen's uncle to implement revenge. Esther wasn't even aware.When he uncovered a * coup attempt* against the king,and it was confirmed,he wasn't rewarded or promoted. Yet did he not complain nor cried * Injustice"! He remained at the gate, absolutely believing what he did,was an unsolicited obligation, and thus expected no reward from it. Contrast with us today,the entire electronic,print and social media platforms will be congested with the perceived ingratitude of the king!

Only when he heard about Haman's plot against the Jews,did he involve Esther. Again,he realized whom he was,so, didn't take the law into his hands, rather he went back to God in faith, likewise Esther.
