The demonstration, which primarily involved men and children praying, was met with force from the Israeli army stationed on a hill. Initially, the army fired a large amount of tear gas and then began using live ammunition. Ayşenur, who we (ISM) consider a martyr in the struggle, was the 18th demonstrator to be killed in Beita since 2020. She was an American citizen of Turkish descent. She was involved with the Faz’a campaign, an organization that aims to support and protect Palestinian farmers from violations by illegal Jewish settlers and military forces. The Israeli forces fired two rounds. One hit a Palestinian man in the leg, injuring him. The other round was fired at international human rights activists who were observing the demonstration from a distance, striking the human rights activist in the head. Neither Ezgi nor the other wounded person posed any threat to the soldiers stationed on the hills adjacent to the site of the weekly march. Eygi died shortly after being transported to a local hospital in Nablus. The Israeli military admitted to firing at the demonstrators and said it was looking into reports that a foreign national was killed. The Israel Defense Forces said it “responded with fire toward a main instigator of violent activity who hurled rocks at the forces and posed a threat to them”. The US has not said whether Eygi had been shot by Israeli troops. “We are urgently gathering more information about the circumstances of her death, and will have more to say as we learn more,” Matthew Miller, a state department spokesperson, said. Similarities between "spike protein" and synthetic anthrax toxin. PREP Act declarations should be read as announcements of use of certain types of chemical-biological weapons of mass destruction. As my readers know, covid PREP Act declaration is currently active until Dec 31, 2024, but it will be for sure extended thereafter. Marburg and Ebola declarations are active until at least Dec 31, 2028. There are several non-covid PREP Act declarations currently acive: These declarations are for influenza, zika, insecticides/nerve agents, anthrax and botulism toxin. They were updated/re-issued on Dec 23, 2022, however for all of these agents, the original declarations had been issued many years ago, starting around 2008. Both, manufacturers and users would have liability immunity. Users of the first countermeasures being the DoD agents who did/do the dispersing of the aerosol, water-borne, food-borne poisons. Users of the second countermeasures being the pharmacists, nurses, doctors, midwives, etc who did/do the injections falsely advertised as treatments for the first set of countermeasures. This prompted me into looking at the literature and trying to see any patterns that would indicate that some of the toxins being covered under PREP Act declarations can be used to simulate “viral pandemics”. Insecticides and nerve agents. This PREP Act declaration was originally issued in April 2017. Poisoning via chemical agents is a very plausible explanation of historical “pandemics” or “epidemics”. I do not believe these types of agents were used for simulating covid outbreak. I also don’t believe that there was no unique covid illness. The most commonly reported symptoms unique to covid illness appear to be quite different from those described in the literature for organophosphate or carbamate poisoning. Since I can’t review all 18,000 approved pesticides, there are still plenty of options for “legal” chemicals to be deployed in illegal ways to fake “viral epidemics”. PREP Act declarations are a key part of the “pandemic preparedness” racket run by the military-industrial mafia (International Medical Countermeasures Consortium) and propagandized on all sides of freedom by characters like Robert Malone: We, the taxpayers pay for the production of chemical/biological brews manufactured to poison us and our children, while the biodefense mafia uses PREP Act to shield themselves from pesky people who refuse to be poisoned. For example the beloved baby of the CIA, DARPA and Robert Kadlec - Emergent Biosolutions is the exclusive maker of the 6-dose (!!!) healthful anthrax “vaccine” which was used to poison hundreds of thousands of US military servicemembers during the Gulf War, aka the “Gulf Syndrome”. Emergent’s contract with the DOD states that if there is NO current PREP Act declaration, then whatever Emergent has shipped to the government is “not for human use”. Naturally occurring anthrax (Bacillus anthracis, b.anthracis) is a soil bacterium, which exists as a spore, typically not dangerous and not transmissible. In a period of about 10 years of targeted effort, there were 68 patients with b.anthracis infection found in China. The Chinese authors of this paper claim this proves anthrax is super dangerous and all cattle must be vaccinated, because 7 human cases/year in a country of 1.3 billion people! Mind you, nobody died. You need a substantial exposure to the spores to cause a significant risk. In addition, it is treatable by antibiotics. Even if you are a superstitious savage committed to vaccines, there is no need for vaccination at all! Shot Palestinian Youth, Used by Israel as Human Shield, Dies of Injuries in Israeli Custody Palestine Chronicle reports: Zahir Tahseen Raddad, 19, from the town of Saida, north of Tulkarm, died on Sunday morning, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said in a joint statement. Raddad had sustained serious injuries on July 23, following a siege by Israeli forces on the house in the Azbat al-Jarad neighborhood east of Tulkarm. An Israeli drone reportedly targeted the house, and Raddad was arrested along with three other young men, one of whom had moderate injuries. The prisoner organizations confirmed Raddad’s death at the Israeli Meir Hospital. Raddad was shot by Israeli forces and used as a human shield after he was placed on the front of an Israeli military vehicle, as documented in video footage of the military operation in Tulkarm, the organizations said. The statement further said that Raddad had been held in hospital under critical and unstable health conditions, reliant on artificial respiration after undergoing several surgeries. Despite his grave condition, the Israeli authorities continued his detention until his death, which amounts to medical neglect. The two were kidnapped by a paramilitary Israeli colonizer and managed to escape before the soldiers killed them when they accidentally entered Ariel illegal colony. The Health Ministry said the soldiers killed Odai Nizar Nimir Abu Na’sa (Troush), 27, and Mos’ab Hassan Ali Moqasqas, 17, before taking their corpses to an unknown location. The Israeli army claimed the two Palestinians drove a car into oncoming traffic, hitting vehicles while trying to ram into a military post. Israeli National News claimed that the vehicle driven by the two Palestinians collided with other cars “and attempted to ram soldiers operating in the area, lightly wounding one,” before the soldiers “eliminated the two.” It added that one soldier was mildly injured before he was taken to a medical center to receive medical treatment. Ben-Gvir’s call to build synagogue at Al-Aqsa ‘to drag region into religious war’: Palestine Andalou Agency reports: Palestine denounced a call by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on Monday to build a synagogue inside Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem as an attempt to drag the region into a “religious war.” “The Palestinian people will not accept any harm to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is a red line that cannot be crossed under any circumstances,” Palestinian Authority spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said in a statement. “These calls to alter the status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque are attempts to drag the region into a religious war that will burn all,” he added. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry warned of grave consequences from Ben-Gvir’s call to build a synagogue at the flashpoint site. “This is an explicit and public call to demolish Al-Aqsa and build the alleged temple in its place,” a ministry statement said. Ben-Gvir claimed Monday that Jews have the right to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque, saying that he would build a synagogue at the flashpoint site. It was the first time for the Israeli minister to openly speak about building a synagogue inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Turkish infectious diseases specialist Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol speaks out on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic 2 August 2024 “Pandemics are the symptoms of the earth sick with capitalism. They will relapse until we have a better, nature-compatible society.” The World Socialist Web Site conducted the following interview on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with Prof. Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol, a leading specialist in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology at Gazi University Medical Faculty in Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol Evan Blake (EB): Can you briefly describe your professional background and expertise, and the work that you’ve done during the pandemic? Prof. Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol (EŞ): I’m currently a Professor of Medicine at the Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, which is one of three academic centers in Ankara. I am working in this hospital as a medical doctor and teaching as an attending staff. I have established the first official “Adult Immunization Center” in Turkey in my hospital, as well as an “Adult Immunization Study Group” on behalf of the Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Association (KLİMİK), which is the first and largest national specialty association. We conducted courses and trainings on adult immunization. I have also studied infections in cancer and transplant patients. When I studied as a research assistant at the Tufts-New England Medical Center (Tufts-NEMC) in Boston, I worked on cytomegalovirus (CMV) diagnosis and trained at a virology lab, while also doing consultations with transplant patients as well. We established the Febrile Neutropenia Association in Turkey and I was the secretary general of this association for a long time. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we established a “COVID Coordination Center” at the Gazi Hospital. We ran processes such as patient monitoring and treatment, vaccination clinics and coordination of health workers. I have conducted and published academic research in immunology, virology, vaccination and clinical follow-up of patients with COVID-19. Ulaş Ateşçi (UA): We know that virtually all surveillance of the COVID-19 pandemic has ended in Turkey and throughout much of the world, but the pandemic is by no means over. What data do you track that allows you to follow the ongoing impacts of the pandemic in Turkey and other countries? Are you seeing increases in heart attacks, strokes, kidney disease or other negative long-term impacts from COVID infection in Turkey? EŞ: Turkey first loosened the monitoring of COVID-19 cases and deaths by making the conditions for testing more difficult in 2021. At the end of 2022, the Turkish government announced that it ended pandemic surveillance much earlier than the rest of the world, believing that the Omicron variant would have a milder course. It also began to convince the public that this variant would be “milder.” However, most deaths and Long COVID cases have occurred in this period. The Health Ministry last announced the daily number of cases on its website in May 2022. But according to the Worldometer website that monitors the pandemic globally, as of April 2024 Turkey has updated its situation as 102,000 deaths and 17 million cases in total. The World Health Organization’s announcement of the end of the Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on the pandemic was taken by everyone as the end of the pandemic. In fact, when the PHEIC was ended by the WHO, Fahrettin Koca, the Turkish Health Minister at that time, not surprisingly misunderstood it as usual and thought it was a declaration that the pandemic was over. He even made a statement saying, “We had ended it long before they did.” But in fact these two are very different, and unfortunately the pandemic cannot be declared over. The end of the PHEIC means that international measures such as border closures are no longer in place, not that the pandemic is over. While the very deadly and stormy phase of the pandemic has subsided, COVID-19 has not yet been contained. Moreover, at the places where there have been human contacts with animals, the virus has spilled back into wild habitats, leading to new mutations and new variants. In Turkey, there are international codes that we use to monitor and define diseases and prescriptions. However, things can get complicated when using these codes to write prescriptions. For example, there are drugs that you cannot prescribe if you do not report a diagnosis of pneumonia, [which] should not be so restricted. We also have to notify the Health Ministry for some infectious diseases that require social protections. But the integration of primary and tertiary care data is not sufficient. All the data is collected at the Health Ministry, but this data is not shared with academia. In summary, we have problems with data collection, data recording and data analysis. COVID-19 affects people as in waves throughout all the seasons, causing recurrent infections as well. It has not become a seasonal virus. The virus is known to indirectly cause heart attacks, strokes, kidney diseases, etc. It probably is the main reason for excess deaths during these waves. However, since these are not measured in proper means here, we cannot assess them. In other words, we don’t look, we don’t follow and we don’t know. In this way, responsible institutions are relieved of their vaccination and treatment obligations. The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) Pandemic Working Group, which has been very functional during the pandemic, and Güçlü Yaman, a data scientist in our group, share some graphs comparing summer and winter deaths with previous years. If there is no other explanatory reason, 60 or 70 percent of the increase in winter deaths over the previous year can be attributed to the direct and indirect effects of respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, while the increase in summer deaths can be attributed to the heat effect and the COVID-19 effect. EB: Can you elaborate a bit more on the data you use to show that there are more deaths and Long COVID cases since the emergence of the Omicron variant? Are there any reliable estimates of excess deaths in Turkey? EŞ: On the TTB website and Güçlü Yaman’s social media account, you can find some data for the estimates of excess deaths based on the burials of some municipalities. We know the data of the other countries and project their scientific-evidence-based data. It allows us to make a rational inference since this is a global problem. In summary, we can say that we have strong predictions even though we have no data. EB: You tweeted recently, “In the field of health care, we are rapidly slipping back into the Middle Ages.” This is absolutely correct; all of the gains since the Black Death are being thrown away. Can you comment further on this, and how the COVID-19 pandemic triggered the repudiation of the most basic principles of public health? EŞ: The Middle Ages was a time when outbreaks could not be controlled and the average human lifespan did not exceed 40 or 50 years. It was an epoch of epidemics, and there was no modern medicine. Now diseases such as measles and whooping cough, which we had brought under control with vaccines, have once again begun to cause epidemics. Tuberculosis is back, AIDS and syphilis have exploded. Currently medicine in Turkey is disconnected from the universal possibilities in medicine, vaccines and technology. Under the title of “traditional medicine,” methods that are not accepted by modern medicine and those who tout them are promoted on television or at ministry-sponsored symposiums. Harmful practices in inappropriate conditions and charlatans are not inspected or caught by the authorities. The Health Ministry seems to be very generous in its affiliated hospitals promoting interventions and medicine use instead of protective health. So patients themselves [have to pay for] these imported technologies and mostly locally produced medicines. In this way they can afford the rentals of these hospitals. However, due to the quantitative and qualitative problems in the healthcare system, such as trained personnel, especially physicians and nurses, there are patients walking around with their bags full of tests, hospital germs that have become widespread due to unnecessary surgeries, damaged organs and damaged health conditions due to too many unnecessary medicines, etc. Of course, after a while, we will witness the shortening of the average life expectancy of human beings. UA: We know that the current vaccines alone cannot stop the pandemic, but they have been shown to reduce risk of hospitalization, death and Long COVID. Can you comment on the refusal of the Erdoğan government to provide updated vaccines to the Turkish population, and similar policies globally? Recent WHO data indicate that vaccination rates for COVID and other diseases have plummeted globally. EŞ: The Turkish government views citizenship on the basis of whether they are pro-government or not. This is also the case for many basic rights and laws, especially justice and employment. The government’s voters do not like science and scientists. The Health Ministry has backed the anti-vaccine and anti-science movement by targeting us, either through misleading or deliberate manipulation. Many of these anti-vaxers and anti-scientists are part of their voting base. There is a heavy financial burden in the health care industry. On the other hand, due to the build-operate-transfer model in city hospitals, many patients need to enter these hospitals and many operations need to be performed. Vaccines or preventive medicine would reduce patient and hospital costs, which I don’t think the government wants. What do governments need to do to prevent airborne transmission of COVID and other respiratory pathogens? EŞ: The most effective masks for airborne respiratory viruses are always N95, which we healthcare professionals have been using extensively in the care and treatment of patients since before the pandemic. During the pandemic, when there were no vaccines yet, these masks were essential for all of us in areas such as public transportation and hospitals. However, they can be very inconvenient and expensive to use. Now I only use this type of mask in areas such as airplanes, hospitals and public transportation where everyone, vaccinated or unvaccinated, can be together. EB: What concerns you most about the COVID-19 pandemic at this stage? There are the ever-growing ranks of Long COVID patients, the threat of a new and more dangerous variant evolving, the potential for long-term damage we haven’t even seen yet, and other ongoing risks we face. EŞ: First of all, the virus needs to be properly tracked. We are talking about a virus that has come back as a relative of SARS-CoV-1, which was responsible for a local outbreak in Asia in 2002 and started a pandemic. Long COVID is rarer in vaccinated people, but the population in Turkey has skipped three new variant vaccines. Our population is vulnerable and unvaccinated. Doctors in the country are not very familiar with Long COVID. Some of the most prevalent symptoms of Long COVID In addition, COVID affects many systems; most importantly it is associated with diabetes. The prevalence of diabetes is already increasing like an outbreak in Turkey, and COVID-19 has triggered this increase. The current official strategy is: don’t see, don’t know, pretend the virus doesn’t exist. But this is not a sustainable attitude. EB: What was your opinion of the Zero COVID elimination program that was implemented in China, New Zealand and other countries? We advocate the global implementation of this policy as the only way to stop the pandemic, but argue that this is impossible under capitalism. EŞ: The Zero COVID policy would have been sustainable and very effective if the world had implemented similar control/protection programs. Millions of lives have been saved in countries that have implemented them. But then, despite the completion of basic vaccinations, there were many deaths in those countries during the Omicron storm, which was falsely called “mild.” I have always described the response to the pandemic as a “patchwork.” China was hit by the Omicron surge when it first opened itself to rest of the world. The only way to prevent deaths before vaccination was strict control/protection. If there had been an equal distribution of vaccines, if there had been a global effort, perhaps these new variants would not have developed. Let’s not forget that smallpox was eradicated by vaccination and a global effort. Before that, it was a scourge of humanity for hundreds of years. UA: There are now reports of a growing polio epidemic in Gaza, on top of the over 186,000 people killed so far in Israel’s genocidal war. Can you comment on this, and what connections you see between the capitalist response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Gaza genocide? EŞ: The four horsemen of the apocalypse: Pestilence, War, Famine and Death. War destroys all the gains made by the established order in the name of health and safety. The Spanish flu spread through the front lines and the battalions and then into the North American population. Next door in the Middle East we have cholera and malaria and other vector-borne diseases that have been eliminated in many countries. For polio, we proudly hold a “certificate of elimination” in our hands, but war can start a new spread that threatens the whole world. War is also forced migration. Although the first major pandemic of this century was spread by international air travel, migration due to war would connect the whole world, as it did in ancient times with infectious diseases. This is becoming a viral century and humanity needs to get prepared in a proper way, which means very close coordination internationally in order to track the emergence of new pathogens and raise the alarm at once. As we have already witnessed with COVID-19, when the alarm bells ring to announce the start of a pandemic it is already too late. At least in the beginning of a pandemic, you can never hide even in a very well-equipped and rich country. Viruses or microorganisms do not distinguish, no matter how sophisticated their host. Since June, residents of Kufr ‘Aqab have been receiving just 2 to 12 hours of water per week. Their complaints have been redirected from one official to the next, yet no one has provided them with a solution — nor taken responsibility for the problem. Located within Jerusalem’s northeastern municipal boundary but severed from the rest of the city by the separation wall, Kufr ‘Aqab’s residents have grown accustomed to the systematic neglect they face from the Israeli authorities. But the current crisis is the worst it’s ever been. During the few hours that the water does flow, residents try to do everything they can with it: take showers, do laundry, and clean the house. The rest of the time, they are forced to buy water from private suppliers and store it in containers on the roofs of their apartment blocks. “We have hospitals, nurseries, and schools in the area,” Iyad Sanduka, a member of the neighborhood’s residents’ committee, told +972 Magazine and Local Call. “Everyone suffers from the water shortage.” Despite the fact that the majority of the neighborhood is officially part of Jerusalem, Kufr ‘Aqab doesn’t receive water from the municipal water supplier, Hagihon. Instead, like Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank, water is provided by the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) — an arm of the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority (PA) — which purchases it from the Israeli national water company, Mekorot. This is symptomatic of Israel’s system of water apartheid in the occupied territories: Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza are denied control of the aquifers under their feet, and must instead buy the water back in limited quantities from Israel. While Israelis have access to an average of 300 liters of water per day, Palestinians in the West Bank enjoy only 80 liters — 20 liters less than the World Health Organization’s recommended daily quantity. With the Biden administration racing to get cease-fire negotiations back on track, a growing number of national security officials across the government said that the Israeli military had severely set back Hamas but would never be able to completely eliminate the group. Israel has made bold claims about the number Hamas deaths, without proof. But one of Israel’s biggest remaining goals — the return of the roughly 115 living and dead hostages still held in Gaza after being seized in the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks — cannot be achieved militarily, according to current and former American and Israeli officials. For example, Israel weakened Hamas’s grip in the Jabaliya camp, in northern Gaza, but had to return to the area in May after the group reconstituted in the power vacuum. Biden administration officials say diplomacy is the only way that Israel can achieve possibly its biggest goal — getting its hostages back. Israel’s tourism industry, in particular, has recorded massive losses due to the broad cancellation of flights by international airlines. Israel’s education sector will also be severely affected if the wait continues into September, as institutions will have to “maneuver within combat scenarios,” according to the Israeli broadcaster. The Israeli economy has already taken several hits 10 months into the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, with the most recent one being the decision by US financial services firm Fitch to downgrade the nation’s credit rating. UN rapporteur says ‘shocking’ 40,000 deaths in Gaza were preventable Al Jazeera reports: UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese says the “shocking” death toll in Gaza, which has reached a landmark 40,000 people, was predictable and avoidable as United Nations experts have long issued warnings and called for international action to stop the violence. In spite of this, the UN Security Council and other international bodies have failed to stop the conflict. “The moral abyss in which [Israel has] fallen is hard to comprehend,” Albanese told Al Jazeera, adding that the war in Gaza points to “an epic failure of the system of international law that was built after World War II to prevent and punish crimes such as this”. The conflict also shed light on the “hypocrisy” in the legal system, where “a few countries have the power to determine to whom international law can be applied and to whom it cannot”. In Pennsylvania, 34 percent of voters were more likely to vote for Harris if she agreed to the arms embargo, while 44 percent were more likely to vote for her if Biden achieved a ceasefire. Report: VACCINES and LOCKDOWNS are responsible for excess all-cause mortality, not COVID-19 infection Vaccines and lockdowns to address the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) are to blame for the excess all-cause mortality during the pandemic, according to a new report. The said report was published by not-for-profit corporation Correlation Canada and was authored by the group's associate researchers Denis Rancourt, Joseph Hickey and Christian Linard. It examined all-cause mortality data in 125 nations between the years 2020 and 2023. The three researchers found that deaths commonly attributed to COVID-19 were actually due to other factors – including lockdowns and, in bitter irony, the injections touted as a solution for the pathogen. According to them, this excess all-cause mortality worldwide is incompatible with a viral respiratory disease as a primary cause of death. "We describe plausible mechanisms and argue that the three primary causes of death associated with the excess all-cause mortality during (and after) the COVID-19 period are: biological (including psychological) stress from mandates, such as lockdowns and associated socio-economic structural changes; non-COVID-19-vaccine medical interventions, such as mechanical ventilators and drugs; and COVID-19 vaccine injection rollouts, including repeated rollouts on the same populations," they wrote. Writing for Armageddon Prose, Ben Bartee commented on the second cause of death. He pointed out that "based on reports from countless nurses and other frontline healthcare providers," the scheme involved putting COVID-19 patients on ventilators knowing fully aware that they won't make it. Another scheme, Bartee noted, was the administration of the dangerous drug midazolam on COVID-19 patients and listing the cause of death as COVID-19 infection. Hospitals incentivized to hook COVID-19 patients to ventilators "Let's not be naive enough to delude ourselves into believing it was a coincidence that the hospitals were given a financial incentive to throw maximum numbers of grannies on ventilators," Bartee continued. According to the Thailand-based commentator, hospitals' payout from Medicare tripled when they did so. This was on top of the special 20 percent bonus for COVID-19 patients courtesy of the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. According to WRAL News, the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) estimated that the average Medicare payment for a less severe hospitalizations is at $13,297. A hospitalization where a patient is hooked to a ventilator for at least 96 hours is at $40,218. KFF's estimate is roughly the same as numbers given by former Minnesota State Sen. Scott Jensen, a Republican, during an interview with Laura Ingraham of Fox News. According to him, a hospital gets paid $13,000 if a COVID-19 patient on Medicare is admitted and $39,000 if the patient goes on a ventilator. Jensen, a physician by profession, remarked that doctors are being encouraged to cite COVID-19 as a cause of death on death certificates – suggesting money as a motivation. "A COVID-19 patient on a ventilator will need more services and more complicated services, not just the ventilator," said Joseph Antos, scholar in health care at the American Enterprise Institute. "It is reasonable that a patient who is on a ventilator would cost three times one who isn’t that sick." Medicare will pay hospitals a 20 percent "add-on" to the regular DRG payment for (COVID-19) patients. World War II: US Military Destroyed 66 Japanese Cities Before Planning to Wipe Out the Same Number of Soviet Cities Hiroshima, August 6, 1945 Nagasaki, August 9, 1945 Timely historical analysis: This article was first published in June 2019. Reposted for the 79th anniversary of America’s bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The extent of devastation inflicted upon Japan by the American military during World War II is not broadly known, even today. In reprisal for the attack over Pearl Harbor, which killed almost 2,500 Americans, US aircraft first began unloading bombs on Japan during the afternoon of 18 April 1942 – attacking the capital Tokyo, and also five other major cities, Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Kobe and Yokosuka. Participating in this opening incursion over Japanese territory, known as the “Doolittle Raid”, were a modest 16 US B-25 medium bombers which killed about 50 Japanese, while meting out minor overall damage. Yet the air strikes represented an embarrassment for Tokyo’s leaders, and they further dealt a sharp psychological blow on the Japanese mindset. To rub salt into wounds, not one of America’s B-25 aircraft was shot down. It was a sign of things to come. As months elapsed into years, the destruction increased many times over. By 15 June 1945, 66 Japanese cities had been annihilated by the US Army Air Force, through firebombing attacks primarily unleashed by the new B-29 four-engine heavy bombers. The number of Japanese metropolitan areas destroyed here was the exact figure that the Pentagon compiled when finalizing plans, in mid-September 1945, to eviscerate the Soviet Union. Indeed, 66 Soviet cities were earmarked to be wiped out – with 204 atomic bombs – less than two weeks after Japanese representatives signed surrender terms on 2 September 1945, finally closing out World War II. Regarding atomic attack proposals against the Japanese Empire, General George Marshall, the US Army Chief of Staff, revealed in 1954 that, “In the original plans for the invasion of Japan, we wanted nine atomic bombs for three attacks”. (Source: Public Domain) The world’s first nuclear attack was unleashed at 8.15am local time in Hiroshima, on 6 August 1945, as a 15 kiloton bomb hurtled through the air when released from a B-29 aircraft. After falling for 44 seconds, the “Little Boy” atomic weapon detonated directly over Shima Hospital in Hiroshima’s city centre, instantly turning into ashes all of its doctors, nurses and patients. In the surrounding landscape, dozens of further hospitals, schools and historical buildings were razed to the ground. Tens of thousands were killed immediately as ground temperatures momentarily soared from between 3,000 to 4,000 degrees Celsius. Of those people situated within two kilometres of the bomb detonation point, 112,000 would be dead within a year (10 August 1946). Further thousands were also killed from radiation poisoning and severe burns, among those present in the hundreds of metres beyond the two kilometre radius mark. The majority of the dead and dying were civilians, men too old or sick to serve in the armed forces, along with large numbers of women and children. Hiroshima’s vital arms and manufacturing complexes, scattered along the city’s periphery, were completely undamaged. These plants accounted for 74% of her total industrial output. Unscathed too was Hiroshima’s crucial port and military embarkation point on the Ota Delta. Almost 95% of Hiroshima’s factory workers were unhurt following the explosion. On hearing of the atomic blast a few hours afterwards, president Harry Truman heralded it as “the greatest thing in history” and “an overwhelming success”. Three days later, 9 August, Nagasaki was attacked at 11.02am local time with a more sophisticated 21 kiloton bomb – which was released over the city’s educational, cultural and religious heartland. As with Hiroshima, the Nagasaki bombing left unharmed most of the city’s war-making industries. Fat man.jpg A mockup of the Fat Man nuclear device. (Source: Public Domain) This “Fat Man” bomb killed further tens of thousands; including many hundreds of schoolchildren, along with destroying the city’s main hospitals, cathedrals, temples and schools. Medical facilities in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were decimated, adding significantly to the death tolls. Echoing Washington’s support for atomic assaults were the Western media, almost without exception. Of 595 newspaper editorials written regarding the nuclear explosions from early August until late December 1945, less than 2% opposed the attacks which would kill more than 200,000 people. The press also firmly supported the firestorming of both German and Japanese cities, in actuality they had “demanded more bombing of civilian targets”, even criticizing air strikes over military and industrial zones. For example, New York’s Time magazine praised the annihilation of Tokyo, which left around 100,000 dead, as “a dream come true… properly kindled, Japanese cities will burn like autumn leaves”. Elsewhere, although Japan’s hard-line militarists proposed fighting to the last man, their political leaders were compelled to announce surrender on 15 August 1945, when threatened with further atomic attacks. General Leslie Groves, directing America’s A-bomb project, informed General Marshall on 10 August 1945 that another Nagasaki-type plutonium weapon would be “on the target” and available for use “after 24 August 1945”. The USSR’s declaration of war on Japan during the evening of 8 August 1945 also influenced Tokyo’s capitulation; with the Red Army, in the following days, cutting through Japan’s elite armies across Manchuria like a hot knife through butter. Another factor was the American guarantee, relayed on 11 August 1945, that Emperor Hirohito – a God-like entity in Japan – could continue in his role following the surrender, though he would have no real power. Just after the first atomic attack Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary, Hisatsune Sakomizu, estimated that his country could hold out for another two months at most: to October 1945. Japan had long been beaten in the air, as too at sea, while her imports of crude oil, rubber and iron ore ceased to exist. Japanese forces were driven from Burma and throughout the Pacific territories. In addition, according to high ranking figures like Admirals Chester Nimitz (Pacific Fleet Commander) and William Leahy (Truman’s Chief of Staff), the ongoing, crippling blockade of Japan by sea, coupled with conventional air attacks, would induce their surrender within weeks, making any US land invasion or atomic bombings unnecessary. The A-bombs were in reality dropped as a warning signal to the Soviet Union, America’s new and long-term enemy as highlighted by General Groves in March 1944. Through non-nuclear bombing, the destruction of dozens of Japan’s metropolitan areas was overseen by Major General Curtis LeMay, who implemented increasingly murderous tactics. It should be remembered, however, that Japan’s army apparatus was particularly sadistic and brutal, committing atrocities predating World War II. Yet it was Japanese civilians which bore the brunt of America’s military might. On 30 May 1945, LeMay openly boasted at a press conference that US air strikes had killed a million Japanese or more. By the summer of 1945, over nine million of Japan’s citizens were left homeless, most fleeing to green areas. Just prior to the atomic explosions, 969 Japanese hospitals had also been destroyed by American airplanes. Almost four years previously, Japan’s seemingly “unprovoked and dastardly attack” on the US naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii – as president Franklin D. Roosevelt described it – was based on what were in fact well-grounded fears. For five months preceding Japan’s raid on 7 December 1941, Washington had been moving her B-17 heavy bombers in growing numbers to US bases in the Pacific, such as at Pearl Harbor, and also to Clark Air Base and Del Monte Airfield in the Philippines. From mid-1941, half of America’s big bombers were shifted from the Atlantic domain towards eastern horizons, something that Japanese strategists were only too aware of. The reasoning behind this military build up had been outlined in late 1940, by America’s famed pre-war planner and Air Force General, Claire Chennault, who outlined how the B-17s would “burn out the industrial heart of the Empire with fire-bomb attacks on the teeming bamboo ant heaps of Honshu and Kyushu”. President Roosevelt was “simply delighted” when hearing of this plan. Notwithstanding Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor, America would have shortly entered the war regardless – and in opposition to Tokyo – as both states by 1941 were already major rivals with incompatible ambitions in the great Asian and Pacific regions. On 15 November 1941, three weeks before Pearl Harbor, General Marshall told reporters in an “off-the-record briefing” that American aircraft would “set the paper cities of Japan on fire. There won’t be any hesitation about bombing civilians”. A year before, on 19 December 1940, Roosevelt approved $25 million in military aid to China, Japan’s traditional nemesis, including the gift of aircraft. Twenty-five million dollars in 1940 equates to nearly half a billion dollars today. On 11 March 1941, America’s president signed into law the Lend-Lease Act, a program providing further materiel to the Chinese – and also to other nations like Britain, the Soviet Union and France, all of which were far from benevolent towards Imperial Japan. For many months, Roosevelt had placed sanctions and an embargo on Japan, such as in response to Tokyo’s September 1940 occupation of Northern French Indochina, which harmed US interests in the vicinity. On 26 July 1941 Roosevelt froze the entirety of Japanese assets in America, a drastic policy which amounted to a declaration of economic war on Japan, over four months before Pearl Harbor. Roosevelt’s action stripped Japan of a staggering 90% of its oil imports, along with eradicating 75% of her foreign trade. Within days, the Japanese were forced to dip into their scant oil reserves, which on their current course would be used up by January 1943, unless her armies embarked upon further invasions. In equal enemy numbers, there were few who could live with the ferocity of the Japanese soldier, who gained notoriety for his cruelty. Tokyo’s war planners turned their hungry gaze to yet more tantalizing conquests, lining up the resource-rich states of Burma, the Philippines, Malaya, Singapore and the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), each of which would be conquered during the first half of 1942. As the war advanced and tables slowly turned, the Western allies’ terror bombing of civilian areas – not only ranking as war crimes – also stood as a dismal failure in its bid to bring the conflict to swift conclusion. These morally bereft strategies, of which nobody was made accountable, actually prolonged World War II. The long-held idea that blood-drenched air raids would smash the people’s morale, forcing them to revolt against their leaders, was pure fantasy. In the summer of 1945, Japanese civilians were more interested in laying their hands upon foodstuffs, with the nation gradually starving due to America’s naval blockade. What’s more, any attempt at rebellion would promptly be eliminated by Japan’s military police, the dreaded Kenpeitai. Western leaders failed to discern the lessons of Germany’s early 1940s Blitz of Britain, which served to strengthen the British public’s morale, not weaken it. This reality soon became clear to Wehrmacht hierarchy; but not so it seems to leaders like Winston Churchill, who was advocating the senseless obliteration of medieval cities like Dresden as late as February 1945. Targeting women and children with bombs left the German and Japanese war machines largely unmolested. The Nazis’ armaments minister, Albert Speer, was at times left dumbfounded by Allied air tactics over Germany, which often avoided the Reich’s industrial areas. Across 1944 Speer, much to Hitler’s delight and amazement, actually oversaw an increase in both German aircraft and panzer production, which made possible such attacks as the Ardennes Offensive of December 1944. The realities behind air bombing escaped the attention of others like LeMay, and his English counterpart Arthur “Bomber” Harris. After it was all over, Harris admitted in his memoirs that the stratagem underlying assaults over urban locations “proved to be wholly unsound”; and that the Allied leaders should have earlier directed their pilots more frequently towards bombardment of factories, communication signals and transportation lines, which would have finished off Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan before 1945. While LeMay was speaking about the mass deaths of Japanese, which also destroyed more than 3.5 million homes, he did not mention that in mid-1945 much of Japan’s infrastructure still lay untouched; such as the country’s crucially important coal ferry between Hokkaido and Honshu while, incredibly, the rail network remained intact through to August 1945; as too did several industrial zones which LeMay’s B-29s roamed obliviously past. * Click the share button below to email/forward this article to your friends and colleagues. It was that “pinpoint accuracy”, “surgical strike” stuff again, there were “unavoidable tragic errors”, “mistakes”, “scrupulous efforts made to avoid” etc., blah. And as Britain’s Colonel Richard Kemp declared of the fourteen hundred dead of the Christmas and New year onslaught on Gaza in 2008-2009: “Mistakes are not war crimes.” (i) Colonel Kemp, with impeccable ties to British Intelligence Services, spoke to the BBC from Jerusalem in similar sanguine vein on 21st November(ii) of the then latest twenty four hour bombardment of the tiny, walled in Gaza Strip, where over half the population are children. But Colonel Kemp has seen a fair amount of carnage in his time, from Belfast to the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. Seemingly after a while the dead and dismembered are just part of the day job. The eight day blitz killed one hundred and sixty two Palestinians in what were merciless attacks on families with no where to hide. Nine hundred and ninety nine were injured. Eight hundred and sixty five houses are damaged or destroyed. Six health centres are damaged, thirty schools, two universities, fifteen NGO offices, twenty seven mosques, fourteen media offices, eleven industrial plants, eighty one commercial stores and a UNRWA food distribution Centre. In addition seven Ministry offices, fourteen police or security stations, five banks, and two youth clubs. The sports complex where the Palestinians athletes and paralympians trained for the 2012 London Olympics is reduced to rubble, as is the beautiful and most necessary Gaza Interior Ministry. On Universal Children’s Day, 20th November, an air strike destroyed the Oxfam-supported Al Bajan kindergarten school and damaged the Al Housna kindergarten. (iii) Oxfam’s Sara Almer commented that more than one hundred and fifty children attended these kindergartens. “The children are safe, but the places where they learned and played are now in ruins.” This in an area: “where they already suffer a high level of trauma …” The Oxfam project was as a result of the devastation caused by “Operation Cast Lead” between 27th December 2008-17th January 2009, when they also repaired the now re-fractured water and sanitation facilities. There is a shortage of two hundred and thirty schools in Gaza, the Agency points out – and a ban on importing construction materials, which means the further thirty two damaged, the two universities and all else may well stay that way. Ironically, on the day of the nurseries’ destruction, the UN Secretary General announced, that marking Universal Children’s Day, the launch of a major UN initiative: “Education First.” The day commemorates the adoption of the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child of 1959 and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. The 1989 Convention entered in to force on September 2nd 1990, under a month after the UN embargo on Iraq, with even baby milk formula importation denied. “The child … needs special safeguards and care, including appropriate legal protection before as well as after birth” is included in the preamble to a fine document. (iv) Four year old twins, Suhaib and Muhammed Hijazi will never learn of the “protection” they are entitled to by the United Nations. They were killed when their home was bombed as the dawn of Universal Children’s Day approached. Their parents, Fouad and Amna died in hospital. Saraya, eighteen months, won’t grow to read the fine words either, she died of a heart attack, literally frightened to death by the bombardment. As the lights went off in Gaza’s hospitals, and their generator fuel hovered on empty, Gilad Sharon – youngest son of eighty four year old former Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, who has benefited from Israel’s fine health services and been on life support systems since 2006 – stated: “We need to flatten entire neighbourhoods in Gaza. Flatten all of Gaza. The Americans didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough, so they hit Nagasaki too.” Israel’s Interior Minister Eli Yishai stated that the goal of the attacks were to: “ … send Gaza back to the Middle Ages.” Palestine has no army, navy, air force, no heavy weaponry. Israel is an undeclared nuclear power, regarded as having the fourth strongest military on earth. Gaza was, of course being bombed by American supplied F-16s and a variety of American weaponry. But as Gaza grieved, America had parades across the land, ate turkey, prayed over their festive dinners on Thanksgiving Day, 22nd November. Reality would have had them burning, city to city, The UN Declaration and Convention on the Rights of the Child, The UN Declaration on Human Rights, The Geneva Convention, The Nuremberg Principles and making a pyre of all the fine, meaningless words which do not end or mask international lawlessness and inhumanity. Palestinian prisoners being raped, tortured and murdered in Israeli prisons: “I am proud of that,” says National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir Far-right supporters of Israel's military-industrial complex are fuming mad that nine IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers were arrested for allegedly raping and torturing a Palestinian prisoner. Numerous members of the Israeli parliament joined other Israelis in storming the Sde Teiman detention center in southern Israel's Negev desert where the nine Israeli soldiers are being held on suspicion of inflicting cruel and unusual punishment on Palestinians captives. Since the Hamas attack from last October, roughly 4,000 Palestinians have been detained at Sde Teiman. The vast majority of them end up being interrogated for information, even if they are obvious non-combatants. For decades, Palestinians have been held at Sde Teiman as part of the Israeli military's efforts to extract intelligence from them. Many of them end up being tortured, raped, or even murdered while under the control of IDF soldiers. Israeli leaders celebrate worsening conditions for Palestinian prisoners The way Israel treats its prisoners is something of an exception in the civilized world. The sheer barbarism of what is now coming to light about rape, torture and murder within Israel's detention facilities is nothing short of shocking. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir fully admits that conditions "have indeed worsened" over time at Sde Teiman, but instead of apologizing and promising reform, Gvir is publicly celebrating these revelations. "I am proud of that," Gvir said in full support of the abuse Palestinian prisoners are having to endure. Gvir is proud that detainees at Sde Teiman are kept blindfolded at all times – and if they try to peek out, guards start beating them. He is also proud that detainees are prohibited from speaking to other detainees – and if they are caught, Israeli guards force them to hold their hands above their head for upwards of an hour as punishment. In some cases, prisoners at Sde Teiman are forced to have their hands zip-tied to a fence to keep them in a stress position. Violators of any of Israel's arbitrary prison rules routinely result in extreme beatings that shatter teeth and bones. The New York Times reported that one Palestinian who was brought to Sde Teiman was beaten after falling asleep upon arrival. The prisoner was told by an Israeli guard that "this is the punishment for anyone who sleeps." A 39-year-old Palestinian nurse who was captured by IDF soldiers in Gaza was forced to sit in a chair wired with electricity at Sde Teiman. The constant shocks the nurse received caused him to urinate uncontrollably before losing his ability to urinate entirely after four days. Other Israeli torture and terrorization methods that Gvir is proud of include: - Setting dogs loose on sleeping detainees - Throwing sound grenades at sleeping detainees - Throwing detainees in a "disco room" where they are forced to listen to extremely loud music (one detainee said the sounds in the disco room are so loud that his ear started bleeding) - Denying detainees food and water "I was naked, cold, beaten, starving, exhausted, and completely drained," said 26-year-old Moaz Muhammad Khamis Miqdad who on December 21 of last year was rounded up at gunpoint by Israeli soldiers while sheltering with his family at a school in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City. "If any prisoner fell asleep, the soldiers would viciously beat him on the head or chest to keep him awake. They wanted us to stay between life and death." Israelis Say It’s Okay to Rape Palestinian Prisoners The Israeli lawmaker from the ruling Likud party, Hanoch Milwidsky, said that “everything is legitimate” when asked whether it was justified to rape Palestinian prisoners. “To insert a stick in a person’s rectum, is that legitimate?” asked Ahmad Tibi, a Palestinian lawmaker…. “Yes! This a new level of depravity. —Abdi, Twitter On Monday, Israeli extremists broke into an IDF military base in Beit Lid to protest the detention of nine Israeli reservists who allegedly tortured and sodomized a Palestinian prisoner in their custody. The chaotic disturbance within the building was captured on video and widely circulated on Twitter. (See here) The mob was enraged by the fact that military personnel could be held accountable for the brutal and inhuman treatment of Palestinian detainees. They believe that any punishment meted out to Palestinian prisoners –however cruel and barbaric– is both warranted and justifiable. As numerous people have noted on social media, the protestors were essentially defending the right of the reservists to rape Palestinian prisoners. That is the only conclusion one can draw from their behavior. Here is the short video of the extraordinary exchange between MK Ahmad Tibi and Likud Member of the Knesset Hanoch Milwidsky who candidly states that pushing a stick up a prisoner’s rectum is acceptable treatment that should not prompt investigation, prosecution or punishment. We wonder what Milwidsky’s reaction would be if Hamas adopted that same policy and applied it to the Israeli hostages it captured on October 7? Is he willing to accept that “Sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander” or does he think there should be a special legal “carve-out” for those prisoners that Israel arbitrarily labels as “terrorists”, a term that is loosely applied to all two million native Palestinians presently living in Gaza? The New York Times reported last month that Palestinians who made it out of the facility said they were subject to sexual torture. Younis al-Hamlawi, a senior nurse who was detained by Israeli forces in Gaza after he left Al-Shifa Hospital over allegations that he was tied to Hamas, told the Times that Israeli soldiers penetrated his rectum with a metal stick, causing him to bleed and leaving him in “unbearable pain.” The Times report said a leaked report from the UN “cited a 41-year-old detainee who said that interrogators ‘made me sit on something like a hot metal stick and it felt like fire,’ and also said that another detainee ‘died after they put the electric stick up’ his anus. Israeli Police Detain Soldiers Suspected of Raping a Palestinian, Sparking Protests, antiwar.com The reason this story is now appearing in headlines (instead of buried in the back pages of the newspaper), has nothing to do with Israel’s long-documented history of prisoner abuse. No, because this story isn’t really about prisoner abuse. It’s about the bitter struggle between Israeli Jews over the soul of their country. Predictive Programming, Symbolism, and Ideological Subversion at Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies A tool that has been used as part of the ideological subversion of society is predictive programming – the process of informing and conditioning the population about events that are soon to occur. For example, in years previous to the 2020 Covid fake pandemic masses of people were conditioned to be scared about worldwide pandemics and deadly killer viruses. Several movies and television series were produced about a worldwide coronavirus pandemic. Examples include ‘Dead Plague’ and ‘Contagion’. ’Contagion’ was based on a coronavirus pandemic with lockdowns, social distancing, face masks, etc., being introduced. The Covid fake pandemic that later occurred was predicted in detail in these movies – the population had also been primed to accept it. London Olympics 2012 Remember the London Olympics 2012 opening ceremony? Doctors and nurses dancing around children in hospital beds. A massive figure of death holding a needle. This was a prime example of how they condition the masses to accept a generated reality soon to occur. Paris Olympics 2024 The recent opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics did not seem to be about sport rather something else entirely. The event has come under heavy criticism from people worldwide with conservative, traditional, and God-conscious values. The event was filled with woke left-wing symbolism, overt perversity, and seemingly pagan or satanic references. Personally I felt like washing my eyes out as quickly as possible. One of the scenes that sparked particular controversy was of a table of drag queens with one in the middle wearing some form of crown or halo on her head and standing in front of DJ gear. The already infamous scene appeared to be a recreation and mockery of Leonardo da Vinci’s mural of Jesus and his Twelve Apostles at table of the Last Supper. Was this an intentional replacement of Jesus and the disciples at the Last Supper with men in drag? Was this an intentional mockery of those with Christian faith? “One of the main performances of the Olympics was an LGBT mockery of a sacred Christian story – the Last Supper – the last supper of Christ. The apostles were portrayed by transvestites,” the spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, posted on Telegram. We were then presented with a naked blue man in flower garlands singing suggestive lyrics and pointing at his groin. This was apparently supposed to represent Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and ecstasy. However, this could also be interpreted as a mockery of Lord Krishna, who is described in the ancient Vedic scriptures as an avatar of God who lived on Earth 5,000 years. Regardless of the truth of the matter, the whole spectacle was in appallingly bad taste. French singer Philippe Katerine during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony(X/@Scipionista) The ceremony was littered with pre-recorded scenes with references to non-traditional sexual inclinations that left many viewers aghast. It appeared to be an overt display of LGBTQ+ perversity and sexual abandonment, containing a bearded drag queen crawling on all fours; the beginnings of a menage à trois; and an intimate embrace between two men who danced, hugged, kissed and held hands. The in-your-face nature of the show seemed to be an insult to people with conservative or God-conscious values. I for one would not allow impressionable children to watch this degrading melee. The athletes themselves were paraded and welcomed down the River Seine in many boats. Was this a mind programming reference to the huge numbers immigrants from faraway places that have been arriving in boats to Europe for years now? The people of Europe, it seems, are meant to welcome and accept mass (often unvetted) immigration regardless of the consequences and well documented increases in crime. Meanwhile, mere days before the opening ceremony a 25-year Australian woman, a tourist, was allegedly gang raped in Paris by 5 men of an immigrant background, see this report. Rejecting Indoctrination and Mind Control – The Value of Discernment The woke left, hypnotised by decades of new world order propaganda have welcomed and embraced bogus and perverse socio-political agendas. Sports events, TV, internet, and AI neuromancers channel corporate-funded propaganda and thought controls to the minds of the masses. These are mind control wands of the globalists. When we hear about ‘multi-culturalism’ and ‘diversity’ in the woke political sense – what does it actually mean? The entire world has been multi-cultural for thousands of years before this funded political agenda. Why are these code words and ideologies so embedded into the cultural psyche? Who is funding the subversion of America and the wider world with these ideological agendas? There is value in discernment, and in distinguishing good from evil. An increasingly perverse and dangerous ideological culture has been foisted upon us all. It can be rejected, and a more God-conscious life can be embraced. Not an unreasonable question, you might think, for a doctor or health visitor to ask a parent. But in the form of a fabricated filmed appeal by a series of small children rehearsed into learning words they would never say, it is disturbing and unethical. Yet this is exactly what the government has just produced to pressgang parents into compliance. This week Dame Jenny Harries, CEO of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), made her way to Liverpool and Manchester to launch an expensive marketing campaign to drive up childhood vaccination rates, specifically for measles and whooping cough. The 19-second commercial has already been condemned as ‘exploitative and unethical’ for using tiny children to target parents with such highly emotive appeals as these: ‘Our generation’s risk of illnesses like measles and whooping cough is rising’, ‘If we’re not vaccinated, we’re not protected’ and ‘We could get seriously ill, risking life-long disabilities’. This video is to be shown on TV and across social media and other platforms over the next few weeks, and will be viewed by potentially millions of adults and children. According to the UKHSA’s press release, the campaign materials were developed by the agency in partnership with Department of Health and Social Care Marketing, Liverpool City Council, NHS England, NHS North West and NHS Greater Manchester, and informed by input from parents in the North West. What concerns me, as well as this cynical manipulation of parents, is that the MSM has bought uncritically into a fearmongering exercise for which there is little foundation but significant risk. The Sun, for example, though critical of the video, does not question its premise or ask what the evidence is exactly for this purported alarming measles outbreak. I questioned this measles mania a month ago in these pages. On what basis were the government’s public health agencies ramping up the message in the media, insisting that children must get ‘up to date’ with their MMR vaccines and as quickly as possible? The answer, I found, was remarkably few cases. Across the whole country since October 1, 2023, the UKHSA had reported just 650 laboratory-confirmed cases of measles, and 183 in the four weeks since January 29, 2024. Of these relatively low numbers of cases I found no media reports of serious illness or deaths to justify this disturbing new campaign. So why, I am left asking, is the UKHSA pushing this expensive and monomaniacal child vaccination campaign, not least that it is not risk-free and when there are so many associated and concerning issues? The UK Medical Freedom Alliance (UKMFA) has set them out in a video statement here.
