Big pharma corrupted medicine, I don’t trust it anymore GUEST POST: by Julie Sladden, MD Maryanne Demasi, PhD Julie Sladden, doctor (retired) and writer, made the difficult decision in 2021 to decline the covid-19 vaccine and close her medical practice. Julie now works in politics, as a local government councillor and political adviser. It was one of those conversations you never forget. We were discussing – of all things – the Covid injections, and I was questioning the early ‘safe and effective’ claims put forward by the pharmaceutical industry. I felt suspicious of how quickly we had arrived at that point of seeming consensus despite a lack of long-term safety data. I do not trust the pharmaceutical industry. My colleague did not agree, and I felt my eyes widen as he said, “I don’t think they would do anything dodgy.” Clearly, my colleague had not read the medical history books. This conversation slapped me out of my own ignorance that Big Pharma’s rap sheet was well-known in the profession. It isn't. With this in mind, let’s take a look at the history of illegal and fraudulent dealings by players in the pharmaceutical industry; an industry that has way more power and influence than we give them credit for. Before I continue, a word (not from our sponsor). There are many people working in this industry who have good intentions towards improving healthcare for patients, dedicating their lives to finding a cure or treatment for disease. Some therapeutic pharmaceuticals are truly lifesaving. I probably wouldn’t be here today were it not for a couple of lifesaving drugs (that’s a story for another time). But we must be very clear in our understanding. The pharmaceutical industry, as a whole and by its nature, is conflicted and significantly driven by the mighty dollar, rather than altruism. There are many players and different games being played by the industry. We ignore these at our peril. The rap sheet of illegal activities is alarming. It seems that barely a month goes by without some pharmaceutical company in court, somewhere. Criminal convictions are common and fines tally into the billions. Civil cases, with their million-dollar settlements, are abundant too. A 2020 peer-reviewed article published in the Journal of the American Medical Association outlines the extent of the problem. The group studied both the type of illegal activity and financial penalties imposed on pharma companies between the years 2003 and 2016. Of the companies studied, 85 per cent (22 of 26) had received financial penalties for illegal activities with a total combined dollar value of $US33 billion. The illegal activities included manufacturing and distributing adulterated drugs, misleading marketing, failure to disclose negative information about a product (ie significant side effects including death), bribery to foreign officials, fraudulently delaying market entry of competitors, pricing and financial violations, and kickbacks. When expressed as a percentage of revenue, the highest penalties were awarded to Schering-Plough, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Allergan, and Wyeth. The biggest overall fines have been paid by GSK (almost $US10 billion), Pfizer ($US2.9 billion), Johnson & Johnson ($US2.6 billion), and other familiar names include: AstraZeneca, Novartis, Merck, Eli Lilly, Schering-Plough, Sanofi Aventis, and Wyeth. It's quite a list, and many of the Big Pharma players are repeat offenders. Prosecuting these companies is no mean feat. Cases often drag for years, making the avenue of justice and resolution inaccessible to all but the well-funded, persistent, and steadfast. If a case is won, pharma’s usual response is to appeal to a higher court and start the process again. One thing is clear, taking these giants to court requires nerves of steel, a willingness to surrender years of life to the task, and very deep pockets. For every conviction, there are countless settlements, the company agreeing to payout, but making no admission of guilt. A notable example being the $US35 million settlement made, after 15 years of legal manoeuvring, by Pfizer in a Nigerian case that alleged the company had experimented on 200 children without their parent’s knowledge or consent. Reading through the case reports, the pattern of behaviour is reminiscent of the movie ‘Ground Hog Day’ with the same games being played by different companies as if they are following some kind of unwritten playbook. Occasionally there is a case that lifts the lid on these playbook strategies, revealing the influence of the pharma industry and the lengths they are willing to go to, to turn a profit. The Australian Federal Court case Peterson v Merck Sharpe and Dohme, involving the manufacturer of the drug Vioxx, is a perfect example. By way of background, Vioxx (the anti-arthritis drug Rofecoxib) was alleged to have caused an increased risk of cardiovascular conditions including heart attack and stroke. It was launched in 1999 and, at peak popularity, was used by up to 80 million people worldwide, marketed as a safer alternative to traditional anti-inflammatory drugs with their troublesome gastrointestinal side effects. In Peterson v Merck Sharpe and Dohme, the applicant – Graeme Robert Peterson - alleged the drug had caused the heart attack he suffered in 2003, leaving him significantly incapacitated. Peterson argued the Merck companies were negligent in not having withdrawn the drug from the market earlier than they did in 2004 and, by not warning of the risks and making promotional representations to doctors, were guilty of misleading and deceptive conduct under the Commonwealth Trade Practices Act 1974. In November 2004 Dr David Graham, then Associate Director for Science and Medicine in FDA’s Office of Drug Safety provided powerful testimony to the US Senate regarding Vioxx. According to Graham, prior to the approval of the drug, a Merck-funded study showed a seven-fold increase in heart attacks. Despite this, the drug was approved by regulatory agencies, including the FDA and the TGA. This finding was later supported by another Merck-funded study, VIGOR - which showed a five-fold increase, the results of which were published in the high-impact New England Journal of Medicine. It was later revealed by subpoena during litigation, that three heart attacks were not included in the original data submitted to the journal, a fact that at least two of the authors knew at the time. This resulted in a 'misleading conclusion’ regarding the risk of heart attack associated with the drug. By the time Peterson v Merck Sharpe and Dohme, and associated class action involving 1660 people, was heard in Australia in 2009, the international parent of MSD, Merck, had already paid $US4.83 billion to settle thousands of lawsuits in the US over adverse effects of Vioxx. Predictably, Merck made no admission of guilt. The Australian legal battle was a long, drawn-out affair, taking several years with more twists and turns than a cheap garden hose (you can read more about it here and here). Long story short, a March 2010 Federal Court finding in favour of Peterson in was later overturned by a full bench of the Federal Court in Oct 2011. In 2013, a settlement was reached with class action participants which resulted in a mere maximum payment of $4629.36 per claimant. MSD generously waived their claim for legal costs against Peterson. What's notable in this battle was the headline-grabbing courtroom evidence detailing the extent of alleged pharmaceutical misdeeds in marketing the drug. The pharma giant went to the lengths of producing sponsored journals with renowned scientific publisher Elsevier, including a publication called The Australasian Journal of Bone and Joint Medicine. These fake ‘journals’ were made to look like independent scientific journals, but contained articles attributed to doctors that were ghostwritten by Merck employees. Some doctors listed as honorary Journal board members said they had no idea they were listed in the journal and had never been given any articles to review. But wait, there’s more. The trove of internal emails presented in evidence revealed a more sinister level of operation. One of the emails circulated at the pharma giant’s US headquarters contained a list of ‘problem physicians’ which the company sought to ‘neutralise’ or ‘discredit.’ The recommendations to achieve these ends included payment for presentations, research and education, financial support of private practice, and 'strong recommendation(s) to discredit.' Such was the extent of intimidation, one professor wrote to the head of Merck to complain about the treatment of some of his researchers critical of the drug. The court heard how Merck had been ‘systematically playing down the side effects of Vioxx’ and their behaviour ‘seriously impinge(d) on academic freedom.’ This alleged systematic intimidation was extensive as it was effective. Result? Merck made over $US2 billion per year in sales before Vioxx was finally pulled from pharmacy shelves in 2004. In his testimony, Dr David Graham estimated that between 88,000 and 139,000 excess cases of heart attack or sudden cardiac death were caused by Vioxx in the US alone before it was withdrawn. These systems of influence, manipulation and tactics were largely operative when Covid arrived. Add to that the ‘warp speed’ development of novel ‘vaccines’, government green lights, pharmaceutical indemnity and confidential contracts. Now you have the makings of a pharmaceutical pay day the likes of which we have never seen before. It should come as no surprise then, the recent announcement that five US states – Texas, Kansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Utah – are taking Pfizer to court for withholding information, and misleading and deceiving the public through statements made in marketing its Covid-19 injection. That these cases are filed as civil suits under consumer protection laws is likely to be just the tip of the pharmaceutical playbook iceberg. The CDC’s updated guidance, issued Aug. 30, states that children — as young as 6 months old — should get either two doses of the 2024-2025 Moderna vaccine or three doses of the 2024-2025 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. If getting the new Pfizer shot, the baby is supposed to receive the first dose at 6 months, the second dose three weeks later and the third dose at least eight weeks after the second dose — meaning, that by 9 months old, babies are supposed to have received three Pfizer shots. If getting the latest Moderna shot, the CDC recommends babies get the first dose at age 6 months and the second dose a month later. The latest Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 shots for children under 12 are unlicensed in the U.S. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted only emergency use authorization (EUA) for the vaccines. Children’s Health Defense (CHD) CEO Mary Holland told The Defender, “The earlier COVID shots have been proven unsafe and ineffective. Now we’re asked to believe that newer versions are miraculously safe and effective?” “This is an insult to people’s intelligence,” she said, “I pray that parents will have the good sense to say no to these dangerous and unnecessary shots for babies.” As of July 28, 37,814 deaths following COVID-19 vaccination had been reported to VAERS, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, run by the FDA and CDC. Of those, 187 reports were for children and teens under 18. Nearly 13,000 reports listed the age as “unknown.” VAERS analyst and expert Albert Benavides recently told The Defender he believes VAERS is “throttling” and underreporting deaths of all ages following COVID-19 vaccination. The FDA’s website on EUA for medical products states that EUA vaccines only have to meet the standard of “may be effective” as long as if, “based on the totality of the scientific evidence, it is reasonable to believe that the product may be effective for the specified use.” “The ‘may be effective’ standard for EUAs provides for a lower level of evidence than the ‘effectiveness’ standard that FDA uses for product approvals,” the website states. Before a vaccine can be fully licensed, the vaccine maker typically is required to conduct numerous clinical trials to demonstrate that the product is safe. However, the safety requirements for EUA are more flexible. According to the FDA: “The amount and type(s) of safety information that FDA recommends be submitted as part of a request for an EUA will differ depending upon a number of factors, including whether the product is approved for another indication and, in the case of an unapproved product, the product’s stage of development.” Despite this, the first statement on the CDC’s “6 Things to Know about COVID-19 Vaccination for Children” says, “COVID-19 vaccination for children is safe.” Risks outweigh benefits for kids Hooker said the CDC’s actions are especially problematic as, historically, the meaning of “safe” has been interpreted by regulatory authorities as meaning that the benefits of a drug outweigh its risks. “With the risk to children of dying from a COVID-19 infection being statistically zero, it is unclear if there is any benefit,” he said. According to the CDC website, “Federal law requires that healthcare staff provide a VIS to a patient, parent, or legal representative before each dose of certain vaccines.” However, for EUA COVID-19 vaccines, the CDC directs people to “fact sheets” — produced by the vaccine manufacturer, not the CDC, and authorized by the FDA — which detail the product’s risks and benefits. There is no federal law requiring healthcare providers to share these fact sheets with patients, or parents of minors, before a COVID-19 vaccination. “Pfizer’s own ‘fact sheet’ for its latest COVID-19 vaccine appears to give a more accurate picture [of the vaccine’s risks] than the CDC’s own websites,” Hooker said. “Shouldn’t the CDC be more a watchdog than Pfizer?” For example, Pfizer’s fact sheet states, “A product authorized for emergency use has not undergone the same type of review by FDA as an FDA-approved product.” The Pfizer fact sheet also acknowledges that its vaccine “may not protect everyone” and that reported side effects associated with the Pfizer vaccines include myocarditis and pericarditis. Hooker pointed out that research has shown that vaccine-induced myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, and pericarditis, inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart, can be fatal. Netanyahu issued a confident prediction: “if you take out Saddam, Saddam’s regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region,” adding, “and I think that people sitting right next door in Iran, young people, and many others, will say the time of such regimes, of such despots is gone.” In 2015, Netanyahu returned to Congress — this time as Israel’s prime minister — to undermine the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) negotiations led by the Obama administration along with key U.S. allies the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. After a tepid acknowledgement of President Obama’s support for Israel — Obama ultimately gave Israel $38 billion, the largest military aid package in history — Netanyahu spent the remainder of his speech attacking what would become one of the sitting president’s signature foreign policy achievements. In both cases, Netanyahu’s advice was catastrophically wrong. America’s invasion of Iraq was a bloody disaster that killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions more, creating massive instability in the region and paving the way for ISIS’s rise. Tomorrow, Netanyahu is set to address Congress again — this time, as he prosecutes a campaign of mass carnage and destruction in Gaza that has killed more than 39,000 Palestinians — to ask for continued support for his efforts to “defeat Hamas.” Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces themselves call Netanyahu’s pursuit of “total victory” against Hamas impossible and “misleading to the public.” By now, Netanyahu is used to coming to Washington, telling U.S. leaders what to do, and seeing them oblige. The consequences of abiding his arrogant approach have been nothing short of disastrous. So will Washington allow itself to be bullied by Bibi again? Will Congress and the administration put his selfish demands ahead of the American people’s interests in avoiding a regional war, and ending our complicity in the destruction of Gaza? Unfortunately, U.S. leaders appear ready to do just that. Meanwhile, Netanyahu likely plans to repeat the same playbook from his last Washington visit: offering the Biden administration nominal praise for their nearly unconditional support of Israel’s war in Gaza before pivoting to put his thumb on the scale for hawkish U.S. politicians during an election year, in a bid to quash any criticism of Israel’s actions in Gaza. If the last nine months have taught us anything, a large, bipartisan majority in Washington will be happy to oblige Netanyahu’s request for silence on Gaza — even as scores of Americans descend on the Capitol complex to protest Netanyahu and continued U.S. support for this war. To be clear, the problem neither starts nor ends with Netanyahu’s far-right government. The Knesset’s recent overwhelming vote to reject a two-state solution underscores the major political challenges that remain to any Israeli role in securing Palestinian self-determination. There are systemic roadblocks throughout the Israeli government and military which consistently entangle the U.S. in regional conflicts and erode any prospects for a viable Palestinian state; however, by continuing to provide unconditional support, the U.S. only undermines the conditions necessary to resolve the conflict. America must use its considerable leverage with Tel Aviv to push for both an end to this war and for security and peace for Israelis and Palestinians. Instead, the Biden administration has aided and abetted Israel’s reckless behavior during this war at every turn, from approving more than 100 arms sales to Israel and vetoing various efforts to push for a ceasefire at the United Nations, to rejecting legitimate findings that Israel violated international law during its war in Gaza. This unconditional support for Israel — a public “bearhug” meant to open space for difficult conversation in private — has utterly failed to restrain Israel in its war, while making Americans a party to the slaughter of Palestinian civilians. This approach has not just been a moral failure — it’s a serious strategic mistake. Netanyahu has repeatedly proven that he is not a reliable partner for the United States. He has been a major obstacle to a ceasefire with Hamas; he is deeply divisive and it is widely accepted, even within Israel, that Netanyahu needs the Gaza conflict for his political survival. As Netanyahu prolongs the war in Gaza while ramping up conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon, he has made it abundantly clear that he is willing to drag the U.S. into yet another unnecessary war in the Middle East: a war that would not serve American or even Israeli interests, but only his continued pursuit of power. The prime minister’s visit offers the White House and Congress an opportunity to turn the page on this failed strategy, to press Israel to end its war, and to prevent a wider regional war that would put U.S. troops in the line of fire. U.S. leaders must use their time with Netanyahu to deliver a clear message: enough is enough. Reach a deal, bring the hostages home, and end the bloodshed before it spirals into a wider war. Washington likes to talk a lot about America’s power and prestige on the world stage. It is well past time to bring these assets to bear to end the assault on Gaza and begin building a durable peace. The WHO Confirms that the Covid-19 PCR Test is Flawed: Estimates of “Positive Cases” are Meaningless. The Mainstream Media Now Reluctantly Acknowledges that the PCR Test is Flawed After having sustained the propaganda campaign, the mainstream media has now tacitly acknowledged that the PCR TEST IS INVALID. Below is an excerpt from London’s Daily Mail on something which has been known and documented by scientists and the independent media from the outset of the corona crisis in January 2020. The report below is convoluted. It is an obvious understatement: “Did flawed PCR tests convince us Covid was worse than it really was? … It has been one of the most enduring Covid conspiracy theories: that the ‘gold standard’ PCR tests used to diagnose the virus were picking up people who weren’t actually infected. Some even suggested the swabs, which have been carried out more than 200 million times in the UK alone, may mistake common colds and flu for corona. If either, or both, were true, it would mean many of these cases should never have been counted in the daily tally – that the ominous and all-too-familiar figure, which was used to inform decisions on lockdowns and other pandemic measures, was an over-count. If the PCR test is invalid and meaningless, this means that there is no such thing as a “Covid-19 Confirmed Case” The results of the PCR test routinely tabulated by the WHO have been used to justify the lockdown policies imposed on more than 190 member states of the United Nations. Economic and social chaos has been triggered Worldwide, and these actions adopted by corrupt governments in the course of the last three years are of criminal nature. They are not mistakes. These invalid Covid-19 “estimates” have been used to justify confinement, social distancing, the face mask, the prohibition of social gatherings, cultural and sports events, the closure of economic activity, as well as the mRNA “vaccine” launched in November 2020. The RT-PCR Test The Real Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) test was adopted by the WHO on January 23, 2020 as a means to detecting the SARS-COV-2 virus, following the recommendations of a Virology research group (based at Charité University Hospital, Berlin), supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. (For Further details see the Drosten Study) Exactly one year later on January 20th, 2021, the WHO retracts. They don’t say “We Made a Mistake”. The retraction is carefully formulated. (See original WHO document here as well as in Annex) While the WHO does not deny the validity of their misleading January 2020 guidelines, they nonetheless recommend “Re-testing” (which everybody knows is an impossibility). The contentious issue pertains to the number of amplification threshold cycles (Ct). According to Pieter Borger, et al The number of amplification cycles [should be] less than 35; preferably 25-30 cycles. In case of virus detection, >35 cycles only detects signals which do not correlate with infectious virus as determined by isolation in cell culture…(Critique of Drosten Study) The World Health Organization (WHO) tacitly admits one year later that ALL PCR tests conducted at a 35 cycle amplification threshold (Ct) or higher are INVALID. But that is what they recommended in January 2020, in consultation with the virology team at Charité Hospital in Berlin. If the test is conducted at a 35 Ct threshold or above (which was recommended by the WHO), genetic segments of the SARS-CoV-2 virus cannot be detected, which means that ALL the so-called confirmed “positive cases” tabulated in the course of the last 18 months are invalid. According to Pieter Borger, Bobby Rajesh Malhotra, Michael Yeadon, et al, the Ct > 35 has been the norm “in most laboratories in Europe & the US”. The WHO’s Mea Culpa Below is the WHO’s carefully formulated “Retraction”. The full text with link to the original document is in annex: WHO guidance Diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2 states that careful interpretation of weak positive results is needed (1). The cycle threshold (Ct) needed to detect virus is inversely proportional to the patient’s viral load. Where test results do not correspond with the clinical presentation, a new specimen should be taken and retested using the same or different NAT technology. (emphasis added) WHO reminds IVD users that disease prevalence alters the predictive value of test results; as disease prevalence decreases, the risk of false positive increases (2). This means that the probability that a person who has a positive result (SARS-CoV-2 detected) is truly infected with SARS-CoV-2 decreases as prevalence decreases, irrespective of the claimed specificity. “Invalid Positives” is the Underlying Concept This is not an issue of “Weak Positives” and “Risk of False Positive Increases”. What is at stake is a “Flawed Methodology” which leads to invalid estimates. What this admission of the WHO confirms is that the estimate of covid positive from a PCR test (with an amplification threshold of 35 cycles or higher) is invalid. In which case, the WHO recommends retesting: “a new specimen should be taken and retested…”. The WHO calls for “Retesting”, which is tantamount to “We Screwed Up”. That recommendation is pro-forma. It won’t happen. Millions of people Worldwide have already been tested, starting in early February 2020. Nonetheless, we must conclude that unless retested, those estimates (according to the WHO) are invalid. I should mention that there are several other related flaws regarding the PCR test which are not addressed in this article. What this means is that the PCR methodology as applied Worldwide has in the course of the last 12-14 months led to the compilation of faulty and misleading Covid statistics. And these are the statistics which are used to measure the progression of the so-called “pandemic”. Above an amplification cycle of 35 or higher, the test will not detect fragments of the virus. Therefore, the official “covid numbers” are meaningless. It follows that there is no scientific basis for confirming the existence of a pandemic. Which in turn means that the lockdown / economic measures which have resulted in social panic, mass poverty and unemployment (allegedly to curtail the spread of the virus) have no justification whatsoever. According to scientific opinion: “if someone is tested by PCR as positive when a threshold of 35 cycles or higher is used (as is the case in most laboratories in Europe & the US), the probability that said person is actually infected is less than 3%, the probability that said result is a false positive is 97% (Pieter Borger, Bobby Rajesh Malhotra, Michael Yeadon, Clare Craig, Kevin McKernan, et al, Critique of Drosten Study) As outlined above, “the probability that said result is a false positive is 97%”: It follows that using the >35 cycles detection will indelibly contribute to “hiking up” the number of “fake positives”. At the time of writing (mid-March 2021), despite the WHO retraction, the PCR test is being used extensively to hike up the numbers with a view to sustaining the fear campaign, justifying the ongoing lockdown policies as well as the implementation of the Covid vaccine. Ironically, the flawed numbers based on “invalid positives” are in turn being manipulated to ensure an upward trend in so-called “Confirmed Covid -19 Cases”. Moreover, those PCR tests are not routinely accompanied by a medical diagnosis of the patients who are being tested. And now, national health authorities have issued (fake) warnings of a “Third Wave” as part of their propaganda campaign in support of the Covid-19 Vaccine. The WHO confirms that the Covid PCR test procedure as applied is invalid. There is absolutely no scientific basis for implementing the Covid Vaccine. Both the WHO and the scientific assessment of Pieter Borger, et al (quoted above) confirm unequivocally that the tests adopted by governments to justify the lockdown and the destabilization of national economies are INVALID. Turkish infectious diseases specialist Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol speaks out on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic 2 August 2024 “Pandemics are the symptoms of the earth sick with capitalism. They will relapse until we have a better, nature-compatible society.” The World Socialist Web Site conducted the following interview on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with Prof. Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol, a leading specialist in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology at Gazi University Medical Faculty in Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol Evan Blake (EB): Can you briefly describe your professional background and expertise, and the work that you’ve done during the pandemic? Prof. Dr. Esin Davutoğlu Şenol (EŞ): I’m currently a Professor of Medicine at the Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, which is one of three academic centers in Ankara. I am working in this hospital as a medical doctor and teaching as an attending staff. I have established the first official “Adult Immunization Center” in Turkey in my hospital, as well as an “Adult Immunization Study Group” on behalf of the Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Association (KLİMİK), which is the first and largest national specialty association. We conducted courses and trainings on adult immunization. I have also studied infections in cancer and transplant patients. When I studied as a research assistant at the Tufts-New England Medical Center (Tufts-NEMC) in Boston, I worked on cytomegalovirus (CMV) diagnosis and trained at a virology lab, while also doing consultations with transplant patients as well. We established the Febrile Neutropenia Association in Turkey and I was the secretary general of this association for a long time. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we established a “COVID Coordination Center” at the Gazi Hospital. We ran processes such as patient monitoring and treatment, vaccination clinics and coordination of health workers. I have conducted and published academic research in immunology, virology, vaccination and clinical follow-up of patients with COVID-19. Ulaş Ateşçi (UA): We know that virtually all surveillance of the COVID-19 pandemic has ended in Turkey and throughout much of the world, but the pandemic is by no means over. What data do you track that allows you to follow the ongoing impacts of the pandemic in Turkey and other countries? Are you seeing increases in heart attacks, strokes, kidney disease or other negative long-term impacts from COVID infection in Turkey? EŞ: Turkey first loosened the monitoring of COVID-19 cases and deaths by making the conditions for testing more difficult in 2021. At the end of 2022, the Turkish government announced that it ended pandemic surveillance much earlier than the rest of the world, believing that the Omicron variant would have a milder course. It also began to convince the public that this variant would be “milder.” However, most deaths and Long COVID cases have occurred in this period. The Health Ministry last announced the daily number of cases on its website in May 2022. But according to the Worldometer website that monitors the pandemic globally, as of April 2024 Turkey has updated its situation as 102,000 deaths and 17 million cases in total. The World Health Organization’s announcement of the end of the Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on the pandemic was taken by everyone as the end of the pandemic. In fact, when the PHEIC was ended by the WHO, Fahrettin Koca, the Turkish Health Minister at that time, not surprisingly misunderstood it as usual and thought it was a declaration that the pandemic was over. He even made a statement saying, “We had ended it long before they did.” But in fact these two are very different, and unfortunately the pandemic cannot be declared over. The end of the PHEIC means that international measures such as border closures are no longer in place, not that the pandemic is over. While the very deadly and stormy phase of the pandemic has subsided, COVID-19 has not yet been contained. Moreover, at the places where there have been human contacts with animals, the virus has spilled back into wild habitats, leading to new mutations and new variants. In Turkey, there are international codes that we use to monitor and define diseases and prescriptions. However, things can get complicated when using these codes to write prescriptions. For example, there are drugs that you cannot prescribe if you do not report a diagnosis of pneumonia, [which] should not be so restricted. We also have to notify the Health Ministry for some infectious diseases that require social protections. But the integration of primary and tertiary care data is not sufficient. All the data is collected at the Health Ministry, but this data is not shared with academia. In summary, we have problems with data collection, data recording and data analysis. COVID-19 affects people as in waves throughout all the seasons, causing recurrent infections as well. It has not become a seasonal virus. The virus is known to indirectly cause heart attacks, strokes, kidney diseases, etc. It probably is the main reason for excess deaths during these waves. However, since these are not measured in proper means here, we cannot assess them. In other words, we don’t look, we don’t follow and we don’t know. In this way, responsible institutions are relieved of their vaccination and treatment obligations. The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) Pandemic Working Group, which has been very functional during the pandemic, and Güçlü Yaman, a data scientist in our group, share some graphs comparing summer and winter deaths with previous years. If there is no other explanatory reason, 60 or 70 percent of the increase in winter deaths over the previous year can be attributed to the direct and indirect effects of respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, while the increase in summer deaths can be attributed to the heat effect and the COVID-19 effect. EB: Can you elaborate a bit more on the data you use to show that there are more deaths and Long COVID cases since the emergence of the Omicron variant? Are there any reliable estimates of excess deaths in Turkey? EŞ: On the TTB website and Güçlü Yaman’s social media account, you can find some data for the estimates of excess deaths based on the burials of some municipalities. We know the data of the other countries and project their scientific-evidence-based data. It allows us to make a rational inference since this is a global problem. In summary, we can say that we have strong predictions even though we have no data. EB: You tweeted recently, “In the field of health care, we are rapidly slipping back into the Middle Ages.” This is absolutely correct; all of the gains since the Black Death are being thrown away. Can you comment further on this, and how the COVID-19 pandemic triggered the repudiation of the most basic principles of public health? EŞ: The Middle Ages was a time when outbreaks could not be controlled and the average human lifespan did not exceed 40 or 50 years. It was an epoch of epidemics, and there was no modern medicine. Now diseases such as measles and whooping cough, which we had brought under control with vaccines, have once again begun to cause epidemics. Tuberculosis is back, AIDS and syphilis have exploded. Currently medicine in Turkey is disconnected from the universal possibilities in medicine, vaccines and technology. Under the title of “traditional medicine,” methods that are not accepted by modern medicine and those who tout them are promoted on television or at ministry-sponsored symposiums. Harmful practices in inappropriate conditions and charlatans are not inspected or caught by the authorities. The Health Ministry seems to be very generous in its affiliated hospitals promoting interventions and medicine use instead of protective health. So patients themselves [have to pay for] these imported technologies and mostly locally produced medicines. In this way they can afford the rentals of these hospitals. However, due to the quantitative and qualitative problems in the healthcare system, such as trained personnel, especially physicians and nurses, there are patients walking around with their bags full of tests, hospital germs that have become widespread due to unnecessary surgeries, damaged organs and damaged health conditions due to too many unnecessary medicines, etc. Of course, after a while, we will witness the shortening of the average life expectancy of human beings. UA: We know that the current vaccines alone cannot stop the pandemic, but they have been shown to reduce risk of hospitalization, death and Long COVID. Can you comment on the refusal of the Erdoğan government to provide updated vaccines to the Turkish population, and similar policies globally? Recent WHO data indicate that vaccination rates for COVID and other diseases have plummeted globally. EŞ: The Turkish government views citizenship on the basis of whether they are pro-government or not. This is also the case for many basic rights and laws, especially justice and employment. The government’s voters do not like science and scientists. The Health Ministry has backed the anti-vaccine and anti-science movement by targeting us, either through misleading or deliberate manipulation. Many of these anti-vaxers and anti-scientists are part of their voting base. There is a heavy financial burden in the health care industry. On the other hand, due to the build-operate-transfer model in city hospitals, many patients need to enter these hospitals and many operations need to be performed. Vaccines or preventive medicine would reduce patient and hospital costs, which I don’t think the government wants. What do governments need to do to prevent airborne transmission of COVID and other respiratory pathogens? EŞ: The most effective masks for airborne respiratory viruses are always N95, which we healthcare professionals have been using extensively in the care and treatment of patients since before the pandemic. During the pandemic, when there were no vaccines yet, these masks were essential for all of us in areas such as public transportation and hospitals. However, they can be very inconvenient and expensive to use. Now I only use this type of mask in areas such as airplanes, hospitals and public transportation where everyone, vaccinated or unvaccinated, can be together. EB: What concerns you most about the COVID-19 pandemic at this stage? There are the ever-growing ranks of Long COVID patients, the threat of a new and more dangerous variant evolving, the potential for long-term damage we haven’t even seen yet, and other ongoing risks we face. We are talking about a virus that has come back as a relative of SARS-CoV-1, which was responsible for a local outbreak in Asia in 2002 and started a pandemic. Long COVID is rarer in vaccinated people, but the population in Turkey has skipped three new variant vaccines. Our population is vulnerable and unvaccinated. Doctors in the country are not very familiar with Long COVID. Some of the most prevalent symptoms of Long COVID In addition, COVID affects many systems; most importantly it is associated with diabetes. The prevalence of diabetes is already increasing like an outbreak in Turkey, and COVID-19 has triggered this increase. The current official strategy is: don’t see, don’t know, pretend the virus doesn’t exist. But this is not a sustainable attitude. EB: What was your opinion of the Zero COVID elimination program that was implemented in China, New Zealand and other countries? We advocate the global implementation of this policy as the only way to stop the pandemic, but argue that this is impossible under capitalism. EŞ: The Zero COVID policy would have been sustainable and very effective if the world had implemented similar control/protection programs. Millions of lives have been saved in countries that have implemented them. But then, despite the completion of basic vaccinations, there were many deaths in those countries during the Omicron storm, which was falsely called “mild.” I have always described the response to the pandemic as a “patchwork.” China was hit by the Omicron surge when it first opened itself to rest of the world. The only way to prevent deaths before vaccination was strict control/protection. If there had been an equal distribution of vaccines, if there had been a global effort, perhaps these new variants would not have developed. Let’s not forget that smallpox was eradicated by vaccination and a global effort. Before that, it was a scourge of humanity for hundreds of years. UA: There are now reports of a growing polio epidemic in Gaza, on top of the over 186,000 people killed so far in Israel’s genocidal war. Can you comment on this, and what connections you see between the capitalist response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Gaza genocide? EŞ: The four horsemen of the apocalypse: Pestilence, War, Famine and Death. War destroys all the gains made by the established order in the name of health and safety. The Spanish flu spread through the front lines and the battalions and then into the North American population. Next door in the Middle East we have cholera and malaria and other vector-borne diseases that have been eliminated in many countries. For polio, we proudly hold a “certificate of elimination” in our hands, but war can start a new spread that threatens the whole world. War is also forced migration. Although the first major pandemic of this century was spread by international air travel, migration due to war would connect the whole world, as it did in ancient times with infectious diseases. We have no allegiances based on monetary or political influence. Our irrefutable premise is that media, particularly news dissemination, has been colonized and exploited by powerful corporate forces that spread misinformation and instrumentalize hate. The individuals and organizations involved in this charade are opportunistic, agile, and confident in exerting influence and persuading people. Over time these actors, advocating for diverse products and causes — from harmful denatured foods to pharmaceuticals with long lists of side effects — have dominated all forms of electronic media. Their trolling, misinformation, and skilled advocacy have impacted the world for the worse. In a continuing gargantuan promotion of dangerous and unproven products, this invasive and unethical group disseminated fear about the degree of an unconfirmed pandemic — and subsequently indoctrinated the world with an idolization of an experimental flu vaccine. Our work combines both analysis and active disruption of these players and networks through the distribution of written articles and reports. GIFT's solutions seek to increase the economic, political, and social costs of all parts of the dangerous infrastructure — the actors, systems, and culture — that support and profit from disseminating misinformation. This foundational report, the Misinformation Million, reveals the activities of the top individuals and the associated organizations responsible for the bulk of pro-vax content produced, published, and aired by news media. The majority of the Misinformation Million continue to push refuted findings and violate all standards of truthfulness. The misconduct of thousands of leading pro-vaxxers must not go unpunished. Nefarious or misdirected souls are responsible for hawking vaccines through the mainstream media when their benefit is negligible and risks are documented. Whether this is done out of intentional duplicity or extreme ignorance, the damage that they continue to do is staggering. Our analysis of news content between February 2019 and September 2023 uncovers how a specialized, influential group of determined pro-vaxxers continues to be responsible for a tidal wave of misinformation. We demand that every news outlet brings to an end this blatant propaganda by enforcing their claims to have balanced and truthful reporting. Key findings The number of key people disseminating vaccine misinformation — including celebrities, doctors, scientists, politicians, corporate leaders, and educators — is estimated at well over a million individuals. This report specifically identifies only some of the leading representatives of the Misinformation Million; selected because of their high visibility and multiple appearances in news programs and productions with overt or subversive pro-vaccine content. The Misinformation Million is a cadre of numerous influencers who act through institutions, government, media, and community involvement; disseminating misleading, false, and damaging information on a local, national, and global level. Analysis of a representative sample of pro-vax content that aired or played on television and the internet reveals that the vast majority of content can be traced to the Misinformation Million. Our sample of programming on mainstream media revealed misinformation was presented approximately 1,104,531 times over three years, between September 2019 and September 2023 with 99% of those contrivances attributable to the Misinformation Million. Detailed analysis of most of these pro-vaccine broadcasts and articles found verifiably false statements initiated or presented by key members of the Misinformation Million listed in the appendix below. In the last three months, with no sign of a pandemic or serious flu outbreak, our analysis of numerous broadcasts and news stories found pro-vax forces continued to heavily influence programming. This media content originates from the same leading Misinformation Million included in this report. Networks and publishers are almost all compromised by paid advertising placed by the pharmaceutical industry; a clear conflict of interest in presenting or reporting the truth about the ineffectiveness and adverse reactions. While some pro-vaxxers identified by GIFT have stopped promoting because of contracting COVID-19 despite numerous boosters — or sustaining vaccine injuries — most remain active through various media outlets. GIFT’s poll in January of 2022 on the effect of 1135 pro-vax newspapers, TV stations, and internet sites, found that the total number of US residents entranced by the deceitful rhetoric reached a peak of 192 million people. Subsequent surveys revealed that by February of 2023, a majority of 332 million Americans had begun to question the validity of the Misinformation Million — and as of this date, increasing numbers are seeking more sound, unbiased information, indicating increasing distrust of mainstream news media. Despite open admission of vaccine failure and damage — and the lack of extreme risk for healthy people from infectious disease — the Misinformation Million are openly preparing for another round of vaccine promotion as the winter of 2023 - 2024 approaches. Factual Chronological Analysis As an impending pandemic was hyped and fear was spread with images of dead and sick people around the globe, the grand promise of a warp-speed production of a panacea was hailed as a coming miracle by the Misinformation Million (MM). When the COVID-19 vaccine arrived, the group provided rhetoric with exuberant promotion and advice to get the jab and take one for the team. The damage and division caused by this unprecedented sales campaign is incalculable. The friendly promotion of the COVID-19 vaccine eventually devolved to where the MM were repeating the flagrantly hostile and illogical truth: that the US was facing a pandemic of the unvaccinated, causing further division in all walks of life. Knowing facts are dangerous to their cause, the MM attempted to silence anyone with views that competed with efforts to ensure that the only viable remedy was Big Pharma’s vaccine. The vehement political repression and unwillingness to consider or discuss alternatives confirmed another success of the corporate capture of government agencies. The single solution for the pandemic satisfied the requirement to keep the new mRNA vaccines in an experimental status, ensuring immunity from liability for the manufacturers. The vast majority of severe cases and those dying had pre-existing conditions that made them vulnerable. Many who were counted as COVID-19 deaths died with COVID, rather than from COVID. As the vaccine proved ineffective, the abject failure to prevent infection was defended by the MM; they attempted to describe the vaccinated who got ill as breakthrough cases, a deceptive term used in an attempt to hide the failure of the COVID-19 vaccine. Ultimately, when it was clear vaccination was unable to stop transmission, the MM told the public another bold lie with unequaled pretense. They claimed the vaccine could diminish the severity of infection, while severe illness and death continued to remain a risk only to those with pre-existing conditions. Claims of vaccine success are based on the false assertion that those who survived the disease did so because they were vaccinated. Having no ethical bounds, the MM abused caregivers who offered relief for those infected by the virus, including deprecating the use of Ivermectin, which was gleefully condemned as a horse dewormer. The MM failed to mention that Ivermectin is internationally regarded as one of the safest and most effective treatments for COVID-19. Even with a decrease in illness ascribed to the virus — and diminished faith in government and the pharmaceutical industry — the MM are preparing for their next offensive, supported by organizations determined to dominate healthcare and reduce medical autonomy. Authorities And News Sources Must Reverse The Damage Done By The Misinformation Million The public cannot make decisions about their health when they are constantly inundated by misleading advertising, misinformation, and false content. Challenging or removing the sources of misinformation — will allow television, print, and internet news to support individuals in making a truly informed choice about vaccines. The best recourse to prevent harm and devastation by the MM is a continued campaign to expose their lies and the application of pressure on government representatives and news outlets to limit their destructive impact. The vast majority of deceptive content continues to be spread by the Misinformation Million. Identifying the deceitful information and duplicitous motives of the most dangerous individuals and associated groups can significantly reduce the amount of harm being done by news sources. Mainstream media must be pressured to follow up on their claims of objectivity with concrete action — and a willingness to ask tough questions. The most effective and efficient way to stop the dissemination of harmful information is to recognize and challenge the most highly visible repeat offenders; those we designate the Misinformation Million. This effort also includes the organizations these individuals control or fund, as well as any associated institutions disguised as philanthropic — established to evade regulation. Appendix: The Misinformation Million The following profiles of key members of the Misinformation Million present a concise explanation for why they are identified as such by the Global Institute For Truth. These individuals continually violate standards and practices of sound analysis, reasonable discourse, or objective commentary — by obfuscating, manipulating, or fabricating the truth. They are directly responsible for repressive actions and continuing denial of the true impact of COVID-19 vaccine promotion. Anthony Fauci — Served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1984 to 2022. Member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force established in late January 2020, under President Donald Trump, to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. He became a de facto public health spokesperson for the office of the president during the pandemic and an influential advocate for social distancing and masking mandates. His position on almost everything continuously changed, with the exception of his relentless condemnation of alternative opinions and unwavering support of the continued use of vaccines and boosters. A comprehensive book, The Real Anthony Fauci, details his deceptive and damaging career. Tedros Adhanom — Director General of the World Health Organization and prime mover of their COVID-19 vaccination advocacy and an international vaccine passport. Imran Ahmed — CEO of the discredited Center For Countering Digital Hate and disseminator of The Disinformation Dozen, the report that attempted to undermine the free speech of an influential group who doubt and criticize government policies and vaccine efficacy. Ahmed and his organization are currently being scrutinized by the House Judiciary Committee. Bill Gates — Founder of Microsoft and one of the world’s most influential foundations; the single largest funder of the World Health Organization. Gates is the wealthiest and most active supporter of the COVID-19 vaccines, never missing a public opportunity to promote his perspective on their utility and safety. The reality of his objectives and benefits from shaping public policy is less obvious, though critical in understanding his motivation. Jake Tapper — Washington anchor for CNN and irrepressible proponent of the COVID-19 vaccine, giving an unchecked platform for Anthony Fauci and others to promote a product. As an attack dog, he has pounced on any criticism of government mandates or policies during the pandemic. Sean Penn — Actor and activist who was an early and vehement promoter of mandatory vaccination. Big Bird — Sesame Street star who attempted to indoctrinate children with the announcement of getting jabbed. Confirmed PBS participation in the farce. Dolly Parton — Country music star and one million dollar donor to Moderna to develop their COVID-19 vaccine, she has urged followers to get vaccinated framing the decision as a life or death choice. Stephen Colbert — Late Night host and pro-vaccine fanatic; promoting boosters and broadcasting an infomercial with Anthony Fauci. Ralph Baric — A University of North Carolina researcher who received unprecedented grants and Anthony Fauci’s go-to gain of function scientist — claims he has no connection to the virus that has been blamed for bringing turmoil to the world for three years. News media repeated his denials — while failing to report information supporting allegations that the pandemic was something other than a natural event. Joe Biden — 46th President of the United States and favorite son of corporate America, including the banking and pharmaceutical industries. Leading proponent of the concept pandemic of the unvaccinated, also claiming the vaccine stops the virus — both fallacies repeated incessantly by newscasters — and staunch defender of the stranglehold that Big Pharma has on Washington politics. His administration enthusiastically and unlawfully pressured social media to repress or de-platform anyone who contradicted government pandemic policies. Whoopi Goldberg — Actress and co-host of The View, promoted the COVID-19 vaccine to a national audience and pressured other celebrities and athletes to join those demanding that everyone gets vaccinated. Despite being triple-vaxxed, she has had the virus twice, yet continues to justify boosters and vaccination. Justin Trudeau — Prime Minister of Canada, responsible for some of the most repressive tactics in any country against those who disagreed with government policies and mandates. His attempt to repress the Trucker’s Freedom Convoy exemplified how supporting the pharmaceutical industry was more important than defending the rights of citizens. Katie Couric — Former host of Today and the CBS Evening News — supported prosecuting anyone who presented information that contradicted CDC guidelines and Big Pharma’s agenda. Donald Trump — 45th President of the United States — was in office as pandemic paranoia was incited, enthusiastically initiating Operation Warp Speed, the program that quickly developed and distributed Big Pharma’s mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. He continues to take credit for this — as a success. Currently, as a presidential candidate, he has wavered on his position about continued vaccination. Neil deGrasse Tyson — Celebrity astrophysicist and frequent guest on news segments promoting the COVID-19 vaccine. Despite a broad scientific background, he repeated the unfounded, phrase to millions of people in attempts to get people vaccinated. Rochelle Walensky — Former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a leading proponent of COVID-19 vaccines. A key voice in the campaign to lay blame at the feet of the unvaccinated. Jimmy Kimmel — Late-night host who proposed that the unvaccinated should not have access to ICU beds and mocked the use of Ivermectin. Gavin Newsom — California governor and militant enforcer of lockdowns, restrictions, and mandates. First Governor to require COVID-19 vaccination for all school children, the group least likely to be harmed by the virus, though susceptible to long and short-term damage from the vaccine. Anderson Cooper — CNN journalist and commentator who consistently voiced support for COVID-19 vaccination — giving an ongoing platform for pharmaceutical promoters, including repeatedly having Anthony Fauci on his program. Joy Behar — Co-host of The View, who continually pushed for vaccination, ignoring risks or the right of medical autonomy. Alex Azar — Former US Health and Human Services director and Lilly USA president — chief engineer of Operation Warp Speed, the initial engine that boosted the prominence and profits of the COVID-19 vaccine. Howard Stern — Radio shock jock who repeatedly insulted the unvaccinated; saying, You’re going to go home and die. Sanjay Goopta — CNN’s chief medical propagandist, who in tandem with Anderson Cooper and other newscasters, repeatedly spewed Big Pharma’s vaccine sales pitch. Arnold Schwarzenegger — Actor and former governor of California who pleaded for people to get vaccinated — in regard to mandates and masks, said, s. Emmanuel Macron — French President and friend of Big Pharma, attempted to make vaccines mandatory in his country. His efforts to combat vaccine hesitancy were unsurpassed by any other European leader. Klaus Schwab — Chairperson of the World Economic Forum and proponent of The Great Reset — his enthusiastic plan for stakeholder capitalism. This concept is a thin veneer for allowing more corporate control of governments, demonstrated by Big Pharma’s powerful performance during the pandemic. Mike Pence — former Vice President and leader of the Trump White House coronavirus task force — an early promoter of wearing ineffective masks and public proponent of taking the vaccine. Rachel Maddow — MSNBC news reporter and vehement COVID-19 vaccine promoter — insisted falsely, that the vaccines work well enough that the virus stops with every vaccinated person. Kamala Harris — Vice President who encouraged vaccination in interviews and appearances without any doubt — repeatedly said the vaccines are safe, they are free and they are effective. Don Lemon — CNN commentator and continuous critic of the unvaccinated —revealed the level of his ability to critique information by saying, I think that you need to tell people that their behavior is idiotic and nonsensical. They are all instrumental in determining public health policy that benefits the pharmaceutical industry. These powerful bodies openly describe their operations and enthusiasm for continuing vaccination without any reference to respected experts who disagree with their perspective, intent, or impact. Only when Israel can exploit the deaths of Syrians living under its military occupation are we supposed to start worrying about the ‘consequences’ of war by Jonathan Cook, reposted from Jonathan Cook Blog, July 28, 2024 BBC coverage of the attack on a soccer game in the Golan Heights on Saturday has been intentionally misleading. The BBC’s evening news entirely ignored the fact that those killed by the blast are a dozen Syrians, not Israeli citizens, and that for decades the surviving Syrian population in the Golan, most of them Druze, has been forced to live unwillingly under an Israeli military occupation. I suppose mention of this context might complicate the story Israel and the BBC wish to tell – and risk reminding viewers that Israel is a belligerent state occupying not just Palestinian territory but Syrian territory too (not to mention nearby Lebanese territory). It might suggest to audiences that these various permanent Israeli occupations have been contributing not only to large-scale human rights abuses but to regional tensions as well. That Israel’s acts of aggression against its neighbors might be the cause of “conflict”, rather than, as Israel and the BBC would have us believe, some kind of unusual, preemptive form of self-defense. The BBC, of course, chose to uncritically air comments from a military spokesman for Israel, who blamed Hizbullah for the blast in the Golan. Daniel Hagari tried to milk the incident for maximum propaganda value, arguing: “This attack shows the true face of Hezbollah, a terrorist organization that targets and murders children playing soccer.” Except, as the BBC failed to mention in its report, Israel infamously targeted and murdered four young children from the Bakr family playing soccer on a beach in Gaza in 2014. Much more recently, video footage showed Israel striking yet more children playing soccer at a school in Gaza that was serving as a shelter for families whose homes were destroyed by earlier Israeli bombs. Doubtless other strikes in Gaza over the past 10 months, so many of them targeting school-shelters, have killed Palestinian children playing soccer – especially as it is one of the very few ways they can take their mind off the horror all around. So, should we – and the BBC – not conclude that all these attacks on children playing soccer make the Israeli military even more of a terrorist organization than Hezbollah? Note too the way the western media are so ready to accept unquestioningly Israel’s claim that Hizbullah was responsible for the blast – and dismiss Hezbollah’s denials. Viewers are discouraged from exercising their memories. Any who do may recall that those same media outlets were only too willing to take on faith Israeli disinformation suggesting that Hamas had hit Gaza’s al-Ahli hospital back in October, even when all the evidence showed it was an Israeli air strike. (Israel soon went on to destroy all Gaza’s hospitals, effectively eradicating the enclave’s health sector, on the pretext that medical facilities there served as Hamas bases – another patently preposterous claim the western media treated with wide-eyed credulity.) The BBC next went to Jerusalem to hear from diplomatic editor Paul Adams. He intoned gravely: “This is precisely what we have been worrying about for the past 10 months – that something of this magnitude would occur on the northern border, that would turn what has been a simmering conflict for all of these months into an all-out war.” So there you have it. Paul Adams and the BBC concede they haven’t been worrying for the past 10 months about the genocide unfolding under their very noses in Gaza, or its consequences. A genocide of Palestinians, apparently, is not something of significant “magnitude”. Only now, when Israel can exploit the deaths of Syrians forced to live under its military rule as a pretext to expand its “war”, are we supposed to sit up and take notice. Or so the BBC tells us. Update: Facebook instantly removed a post linking to this article – and for reasons that are entirely opaque to me (apart from the fact that it is critical of the BBC and Israel). Facebook’s warning, threatening that my account may face “more account restrictions”, suggests that I was misleading followers by taking them to a “landing page that impersonates another website”. That is patent nonsense. The link took them to my Substack page. BREAKING: Leaked German RKI Protocols expose the shocking truth of government-sanctioned abuse The dam has burst. They took away basic human rights, imposed draconian measures and mandatory novel gene injections on humanity, and claimed it was for our health. They lied. World Council for Health In a shocking revelation, the 4,000-page protocols of the German equivalent of the CDC, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), have been leaked by an anonymous whistleblower of the RKI to the public, exposing the truth behind the government's handling of the pandemic. Share Whilst the first insights into the protocols were paid for via a Freedom of Information Act request by the journal Multipolar in March 2024, most relevant passages had been redacted. These protocols, which cover the period from 2020 to 2023, reveal that political decisions were made without scientific basis, leading to the imposition of draconian measures and the unnecessary injection of the public with untested gene therapy. Recently, Anthony Fauci, responsible for the Covid measures in the US, had admitted that the social distancing rule was completely fabricated and without scientific back up and in another statement, admitted that masks do not work. In the UK the “Lockdown files” also revealed the results of “putting medical decisions in the hands of people with no medical decision-making experience or expertise, so long as they were ‘nice chaps’ and went to the right school.” A recent publication states that the three primary causes of death associated with the excess all-cause mortality in the last years are due to mandated measures such as lockdowns, harmful medical interventions such as the use of ventilators, the denial of use of antibiotics and the use of Covid gene injections. In light of this, the German revelations require strict consequences. The study’s authors calculated that Covid-19 vaccine deaths, up to 30 December 2022, number a staggering 16.9 million people. Unveiling the lies Sensationally, even one of the German mainstream media tabloids, Bild, reported that the leaked RKI protocols expose five major untruths that politicians spread during the pandemic. As you read these, keep in mind the measures that the German people were subjected to: besides mask mandates and social distancing rules, a ‘lockdown of the unvaccinated’ banned people from entering shops, restaurants, schools, bars and other public places, including parks and forests. Compulsory vaccination was imposed on military members and all people working in the health sector. Covid injections are still recommended for all children over 6 months. Questioning doctors had their licences withdrawn, many have been sent to prison. A member of the German army was just imprisoned for failing to obey the order to get injected. Untruth #1: children need to be vaccinated against Covid-19 It turns out the RKI deemed child vaccination unnecessary, (Protocol,19/05/2021) as the virus did not seriously endanger children and was not a driver of infection waves. Note that countries like Sweden, which did not comply with the concept of a one-world (health) medicine introduced by the WHO, left schools open, and did not introduce masks, were able to demonstrate no deaths due to Covid at all, and coincidentally the Swedish population shows the lowest excess mortality rate in Europe. Untruth #2: the Astra Zeneca ‘vaccine’ is safe The AstraZeneca (AZ) injection was associated with dangerous side effects, contrary to the claims made by the Federal Ministry of Health. They knew early on that the AZ injection increased the risk of sinus vein thrombosis by 20 times but despite this realization, a few weeks later the then Chancellor Angela Merkel, Vice-Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the then Health Minister Jens Spahn and Karl Lauterbach were apparently publicly injected with AstraZeneca, together with the call to the population to do the same as these politicians. Untruth #3: the unvaccinated are dangerous Thirdly, the government's assertion that the unvaccinated posed a danger to others was unfounded, as the RKI found no evidence of a "pandemic of the unvaccinated." Even further on 19 March 2021 in the protocols, they emphasise that “Covid-19 should not be compared with influenza, because normal influenza waves kill more people, although Covid-19 is worrying for other reasons.” Untruth #4: masks stop the spread Fourthly, the RKI did not recommend the FFP-2 mask requirement and the 3-G and 2-G rules. Considering that natural science has produced over 170 studies demonstrating the ineffectiveness and harm of masks and that Pfizer never demonstrated a reduced infection or reduced transmission in the approval trials, the question remains as to why these recommendations were made and why, in Germany, even today, brave doctors are sentenced to years of imprisonment for issuing mask exemptions. Untruth #5: restrictions were justified Another quote in the protocols from 8 January 2021, was whether the time had come to “depart from the narrative of herd immunity via vaccination” now that vaccines were actually available. A remark on 5 March 2021 showed that restrictions for the unvaccinated and as-yet-uninfected were “not technically justifiable” and contrary to World Health Organisation ethical guidelines and an extended discussion on 19 March 2021 was about why no mortality-reducing effects were yet visible after 7 million of the most vulnerable Germans had been jabbed. Many more facts will surface shortly, but we should be on high alert as unelected organizations such as the WHO plan the next public measures in response to bird flu or Disease X. Share Facts exposed so far by the RKI protocol include: (Note that quotes from the protocols are direct translations) Covid-19 was no more dangerous than influenza. RKI protocol 19/03/2021, page 2352 reads: “Not yet seen that fewer old people are dying due to the vaccination effect? Is it too early? Are vaccinated people dying? The curves need to be observed closely. It is rather reassuring if the median age of deaths does not shift. The main risk of dying from COVID-19 is age. COVID-19 should not be compared to influenza, more people die in normal influenza epidemics”. Risk elevation to a ‘pandemic’ was initiated by one single, external actor. There was no evidence in favour of mandatory masks (not even FFP2). RKI protocol 30/10/2020, page 1716 reads: “FFP2 masks are an occupational health and safety measure. If people are not trained/qualified personnel, FFP2 masks have no added value if they are not fitted and used correctly. The limitations are clearly outlined in the document and there is no evidence to support the use of FFP2 masks outside of occupational health and safety, this could also be made available to the public. Previous studies on the effectiveness of FFP2 masks have failed due to masks not being worn or not being worn correctly, their benefit should remain limited to occupational safety of people working with infectious patients.” Efficiency of Covid medication was known, yet not recommended. RKI Protocol 24/02/2020, page 214 reads: “New study shows chloroquine efficacy in therapy, reduces disease severity, evidence is hardening, is plausible in terms of content, is also discussed today in STAKOB TK.” It was known that lockdowns are more dangerous than coronavirus itself. There was no evidence for protective effect of mRNA gene therapy (vaccination). RKI Protocol 06/01/2021, page 1999 reads: “Evaluation of positive reaction in screening tests of vaccinated people: It has been reported by several organisations that positive results were observed in rapid antigen tests immediately after vaccination.” Testing of asymptomatic people was misleading. There was no asymptomatic transmission. There was no evidence-based downgrading of risk assessment for political reasons. There was no infection with Ct values of more than 30 in PCR tests. The cohort study ‘Diamond Princess’ showing that the estimates of deaths from arch-modeller Neil Ferguson were far too high, was known but ignored. The PCR incidence thresholds of 35 or 50 were arbitrarily set by Jens Spahn (former Minister of Health) and Head of the Chancellery, Braun. RKI protocol 03/02/2020, page 78 reads: “A positive PCR result after recovery does not necessarily mean infectiousness.” Necessary symptoms (i.e. fever) of infection were dropped to keep case numbers artificially high. RKI protocols 23/11/2020, page 1818 reads: “Surveillance Corona-KiTa study (slides here). FluWeb: Frequency of acute respiratory diseases: below seasonal average in all age groups, decreasing trend.” The low risk for children was known. RKI protocol 26/02/2020, page 232 reads: (Observations / results from China) Age distribution: children 2% of cases in large study, paediatric hospital confirmed all without complications; also not prevalent in transmission chains; schools, daycare centres are not in the foreground, children not important links in transmission chains; excreted in stool for a long time but unclear whether live virus; role of children rather atypically subordinate (unlike influenza), more studies need to be done.” Politically motivated decisions Contrary to claims that vital political decisions were based on scientific evidence, the RKI protocols reveal that these decisions were made without scientific backing. The conference of the minister presidents of the 16 federal states, led by Chancellor Angela Merkel, made decisions that ignored the scientific advice provided by the RKI. Unjustified agitation and blame The media played a significant role in agitating against the unvaccinated and spreading misinformation. The protocols confirm that children were not significant virus transmitters, contradicting the shaming and blaming they endured. The harmful consequences The leaked RKI protocols shed light on the consequences of these decisions, which caused unprecedented economic harm to the middle class and small and medium-sized businesses. Children also suffered unnecessary harm, and three-quarters of the population were subjected to novel, untested gene therapy injections, with currently at least 20 million deaths and untold damage to body systems. At this writing in early 2024, an abundance of evidence has shown the harmful effects of the COVID vaccines, mostly the mRNA type, made by Pfizer and Moderna. There are thousands of studies showing injuries from these vaccines. I compiled over 700 of the largest studies and of those showing how the mRNA vaccines cause damage to multiple bodily organs in this book. I cited half as many studies in its earlier edition, which was more widely read, probably for the novelty of its subject matter, while still remaining obscure and little known. Thus, medical literature showing injuries following COVID vaccination, without overtly announcing vaccine criticism, is a 21st century metaphor for the practice of engraving the contrarian viewpoint surreptitiously in the shadows of the cathedral. We learned this week that the CDC knew about myocarditis effects by at least May 25, 2021, but did not want to “appear alarmist” to clinicians and to the public. [1] For context, it had been known since November 2020, before any of the public was injected, that the Pfizer vaccine arrives to the heart, brain and other organs within seconds. By the middle of 2021, myocarditis reports were accumulating throughout injected populations, and cardiac arrest ambulance calls had skyrocketed in heavily injected Israel. There is an important flaw in this study, which stems from a political artifact. The authors used the term “unvaccinated” 51 times without defining it at all. In fact, the term “unvaccinated” has been very sloppily defined in the COVID era. Does unvaccinated now mean never having received any vaccines at all, even the earlier childhood vaccines? Or that the Danish teenage girls suffered injury after some of the prior childhood vaccines, and at some point decided to receive no more vaccines? Adding even more confusion, people who had been injected with COVID vaccines less than two weeks earlier were (very dishonestly) called “unvaccinated” at least throughout the U.S. and Europe. This had the grossly misleading effect of sweeping the earliest (Day 0 to 14) vaccine injuries away from official scrutiny. A fourth problem with the term unvaccinated is that those who only received one COVID vaccine dose, but refused a second, were in some places being called “unvaccinated.” And a fifth problem was that those who could not prove in a hospital setting how many COVID vaccines they had were sometimes also lumped in with the “unvaccinated” cohort. So it is anybody’s guess as to the composition of the “unvaccinated” cohort, and the study authors did not even attempt to sort through any of the above problems with vaccination status. Whereas the authors did define their vaccinated cohort as having specifically two doses of Pfizer, > 3 weeks apart, they did not define their unvaccinated cohort. We do see however, that after two Pfizer mRNA vaccine doses, the Danish girls had almost double the unspecified cognitive symptoms and over nine times the dizziness and vertigo of the presumably unvaccinated girls, even after two months post-vaccine, which was the most striking finding of the study. 10 Fake News Tactics Corey Lynn Fake news used to be a twist of truth, a spin on a story, and an outlandish opinion, but now it’s become an in-your-face blatant lie, and they downright don’t give a damn that you know they are lying. Now more than ever it is critical that people learn how to quickly sift through the garbage news and be able to discern and compartmentalize truth from fiction and plausibility. Corey’s Digs provides over 80 resources for fact checking and deep digging, a file drawer loaded up with declassified documents and transcripts, tools including an excellent background search database, secure virtual private network when surfing the internet, and encrypted emails, as well as a two-part series on Hunting the Hunters providing tips on researching. Take advantage of this site and use all of these tools to keep yourself sharp during this information war, as they try to erase our history. 10 Fake News Tactics 1) They write an article purely about data, throw out large numbers to scare you, but won’t give you the minuscule percentage it equates to because they know most people won’t bother to do the math. So instead, all people see is that big number. Then, they take an aspect within the overall data topic, that equates to a much larger percentage, and push that to the forefront to stoke fear, so it’s the only percentage that sticks in ones mind. This is commonplace in fake news. Do the math yourself. 2) They write some dramatic piece to justify their narrative, throwing out numbers and percentages, then create a graph to reflect just how awful it appears to be. The only problem is, they only factored in about 2 out of 10 elements that would need to be taken into account to derive at the numbers they came to. They tell less than half the story, sum it up with a shocking visual, and people fall for it. Another thing they do with numbers is push a scare tactic with a global death rate attached to a year, but don’t mention it’s global, leading people to believe that is the death rate in the U.S. alone. They do this with the vaccine industry all the time. “Over 110,000 people died from the measles in 2017,” with a big fat zero in the U.S., but they fail to mention that part. 3) They scribble out a 2,000 word spin on a story, beginning with an intriguing detail and perhaps a fact or two. Once they grip your mind, they go in for the kill – filling it with a pumped up opinion made to look like facts, while not providing a shred of evidence. About 3/4 of the way down the article, they lay out that basically everything they just stated was bs, in one single sentence, that about 5% of people will ever reach. 4) The emotionally driven articles meant to fuel anger, hate, or fear, that are typically backed with a bunch of false or exaggerated statistics, piped full of bought-off scientific research, or a personal story from a paid actor. 5) “Our sources say” is no longer a good look. Nine times out of ten it’s either intentional leaked disinformation, someone with a grudge, or the sources are non-existent. Stick with journalists who provide evidence, unless you have followed a journalist’s track record long enough to know that if they occasionally have an anonymous “source” and you are able to connect additional dots with evidence, keep it in the plausibility compartment until more information comes out. 6) Every single fact checking website out there is a joke. They are wrong more than they are right – and that’s most certainly intentional. 7) The “drop retraction” and “the extraction.” The “drop retraction” is the intentional drop of something so outlandish it becomes instant clickbait for a viral storm. They know it’s an out and out lie, and they have every intention of doing the most damage followed by the most minimal retraction within 24-hrs of it going viral – just long enough to seed millions of minds, knowing full well that the mere tweet apology rather than removal of the piece or tweet entirely, will always remain in the clickbait spotlight. The “extraction” is when they extract a single sentence from a lengthy document few people will ever read, or 10 seconds from a 5 minute video clip few will bother to trace down, and spin it into a volatile mudslide of such disbelief, that everyone believes it. These are almost always emotionally driven segments. 8) They stick with the same story or same statistics they’ve been pushing for a long time, even long after it’s already been debunked with evidence to the contrary. There are millions of people in this world, so they cast their spells in cycles knowing full well it will grab hold of some minds. 9) “Misleading headlines” are some of the most infuriating ones of all. We are in a world of sound bites and eye candy, with information storming at 1000 mph and people with shorter attention spans than ever before. People will take a headline at face value, never read the article in its entirety, then proceed to share it with an opinion stapled to it. How can one have an opinion on something they never read? This is dangerous territory creating a lot of cognitive dissonance. CBS News recently ran a perfect example of this, with a prominent race baiting headline stating, “A white bar owner in Omaha shot and killed a black protester. He won’t face charges.” If anyone cared to click on it to read the actual story, the reality was it was a man battling another man who was shot in self defense, but they had to make it about race to stoke the racial divide and chaos. The New York Times is famous for altering headlines from their morning edition to their late edition. It generally begins with a shred of truth, and after receiving orders from the narrative machines, the headlines change to a totally different tone, expressing the complete opposite of how it was portrayed in the first edition. 10) The “two-sided dagger.” When they write from a place of concern about a group of people, person, or situation, only later to stab them in the back for whatever political agenda they are taking part of at that point in time. Alternatively, they write in a certain tone about one situation or event, while writing in a completely different tone about an almost identical situation or event. In either case, the two-side dagger becomes a nice side-by-side visual for evidence, but the damage has already been done.
