But if you bring the same sincere curiosity and rigorous investigation to this issue that you brought to the plight of the Palestinians, you will discover the same kinds of lies and distortions which you’ve seen the western political/media class promote about Gaza being spun about Syria as well — frequently by the same people. Your eyes flicker open because of some really obvious plot hole in the official narrative like Vietnam, the Iraq invasion, or Gaza, and then once you’ve seen through those lies you start getting curious about how else you’ve been deceived. If a rich neighborhood is the best place to sleep rough then the rich should be forced to look at a daily reminder of the dystopia they live in until the underlying problems which cause homelessness have been fixed. You shouldn’t be allowed to hide such things to make people comfortable. All the laws designed to criminalize homelessness and force the unhoused to relocate are just one more way our dystopia hides its abuses and contradictions from public view, the same as propaganda and internet censorship and murdering Palestinian journalists. They want the homeless out of sight and out of mind in the same way their wars and genocides are out of sight and out of mind. They just want the homeless to go “away”, because they can’t fix the injustices and inequality which cause homelessness without upending the power structure they rule. In a statement, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yivan Gil expressed country solidarity with the Syrian people and government, calling on the international community to condemn terrorist attacks in Syria. What are we to make sure of this resurgence of terrorism in Syria, their objectives and their backers? Well, the first question is, why now? The timing is crucial to understanding what’s going on. And it’s obviously not a coincidence that this happened at exactly the same moment that the genocidal Zionist occupation entity is changing its focus from its unsuccessful war on Lebanon, in which it was forced to accept essentially a defeat, to a war on Syria. It’s now trying to take out the Lebanese people’s ability to defend themselves, which they did so successfully, by going into Syria and attacking Syria and trying to cut off any means that supporters of Lebanese independence will be able to use to help ensure that Hezbollah and the patriotic forces in Lebanon will be able to continue to defend themselves successfully in the future. So the Zionist entity attacked Syria. And at the same moment, these takfiri terrorists who are armed and supported by the Zionist entity’s backers in Washington, D.C., also attacked Syria. Clearly, this is a coordinated operation. It’s not only a response to the Zionists’ loss in their war on Lebanon, but it’s also an attempt to bring back the divide and conquer strategy to try to do something about the success that Chinese-backed and to some extent Russian-backed diplomacy has had in uniting the region against the Zionists. The leadership of the Gulf Arab regimes, which had been very pro-Zionist in the past, has awakened to the futility of accepting the Zionists as a permanent entity. They’ve seen this genocide. They know their people will never stand for that. And so they have gone along with these Chinese backed efforts to bring together the whole region in a kind of a peaceful settlement and solution to some of the smaller differences, which will allow the region to settle the big problem, which is this genocidal Zionist occupation of Palestine. And so the forces that don’t like that and that want to break the region apart and to turn the different countries against each other are panicking. That’s why they’re now trying to ramp up this war on Syria. But it’s not working. As we’ve seen, the leadership in all regional countries is standing strong. And let’s hope that Turkey wakes up and that the Turkish leadership realizes that this divide-and-conquer Oded Yinon strategy is aimed at them as well, and that Kurdish separatist extremists are going to be armed and turned against them in the same way that the Takfiri terrorists are being armed and turned against Syria. And it’s ironic you say that because we often hear so many regional countries, Dr. Barrett, always allude to that exact thing, that the Zionist entities’ actions in West Asia do nothing but perpetrate more destabilization, insecurity, and instability for everyone in the region. That’s right. That’s what it’s there to do. You know, there are conspiracy theories that might be true, like so many conspiracy theories, that in fact, the reason or one of the reasons that the West supports this seemingly completely counterproductive and out-of-control genocidal Zionist entity is precisely to create so many problems in the region that it will never be successful. That is, to prevent the region from finding ways to unite and to trade productively, to get more and more political and economic unity and to become a major player in the world. And so the forces that don’t want West Asia to succeed have conspired to implant this inherently genocidal Zionist entity right there in the heart of the region, in the Holy Land. It’s holy to the majority of the world’s population. It is holy to four billion Christians and Muslims, along with a few million Jews, a fraction of 1% of the Abrahamic monotheists, who all look to that Holy Land as kind of the heart of their culture and their heritage. And so by essentially destroying it and creating this Antichrist project in the Holy Land, they are sticking a dagger into the heart of West Asia. And the purpose of that is to try to ensure perpetual chaos and failure in West Asia. But the West Asian governments are starting to wake up to this, and I don’t think they’re going to continue to fall for this Oded-Yanon divide and conquer project for very long. Instead, I think that they see this as a strategic move to try to cut off Syria from Lebanon, to increase the pressure on the resistance front, to increase pressure on Russia as Russia is on the brink of victory in Ukraine. Russia has also been a backer of the stability of the region and of the Syrian government. So I think they’re trying to increase pressure on their adversaries. Never mind that October 7th was another Israel inside job like 9/11. Rubio on a Fox radio show earlier this year actually likened the Israeli Zionist invasion in Rafah to the Western Allied Normandy invasion going after Hitler. You really think someone capable of contorting and twisting reality that much is capable of running America’s foreign policy without running amuck with more crafted US arrogance and unending bullshit grandstanding? In June Rubio was a lead sponsor of a bill that would prevent puppet Biden from placing conditions on Israel’s supply of US arms. If the US stopped sending bombs, the genocide would stop. But owned and controlled Senator Rubio cannot go against his higher paygrade just to save little children from being blown to pieces, hell no. Marco Rubio also promoted bill to halt humanitarian aid to starving Palestinians, succumbing to Israeli pressure to suspend all UN aid relief into Gaza. The Florida senator also engineered legislation sabotaging the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, accusing it of being “the single most destructive campaign of economic warfare facing the Jewish state today.” All week long, Trump unanimously handpicked one Zionist Israeli firster after the next, all committed to protecting Netanyahu’s selfish war criminal interests far and above protecting any interests of our own fellow American citizens struggling to feed their family. The Trump choice for this grave responsibility in two months falls into the trigger-happy hands of Fox News host since 2014, Pete Hegseth, who urged the US to bomb Iran, including its mosques, schools and hospitals. Using the same lame Israeli excuse to justify taking out thousands of innocent civilian lives, be they children, women and the infirm, to neutralize the alleged embedded enemy amongst the civilian population, Hegseth plans to resort to any measure necessary to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Back in early 2020, prior to Iran developing underground nuclear stockpiles, war hawk Hegseth after murdering Gen. Soleimani was imploring then President Trump to go gangbusters bombing away at Iranian civilians. What better time than now to say, we’re starting the clock, you’ve got a week, you’ve got X amount of time before we start taking out your energy production facilities. We take out key infrastructure. We take out your missile sites. We take out nuclear developments. Since Iran nearly five years later already possesses nuclear weapons as a viable means of mutual deterrence against nuke-happy Israel with its notorious shameless Sampson option, as the stalwart, anti-Iran war dick, the prospect of Hegseth provoking a military confrontation against Israel’s archrival Iran in the coming months and years appears to already be an inevitable, done deal. But if you’re using one to harbor your most dangerous weapons, then that should be on the target list. With Hegseth an Evangelical Christian Zionist constituting the largest religious group in the US, claiming 1 out of 4 American voters, he believes biblical prophecy must be fulfilled, starting with the Rothschild bloodline banking dynasty’s successful founding of the Jewish State in 1948, convinced it was the temporal marker ushering in the “End Times” on earth, according to biblical scripture. He’ll be working to ensure that President Trump keeps at least one of his campaign promises, not to the American voters, but making good on his boss’ boss Miriam Adelson for her $100 million bribe in exchange for Trump delivering the Palestinians’ West Bank to Israel. After Trump moved the Israel capital to Jerusalem, according to a July 2019 Middle East Monitor headline, an elated “Mike Huckabee hopes Trump may annex West Bank settlements.” This US Zionist has come out and matter-of-factly stated: There’s really no such thing as a Palestinian. I think Israel has title deed to Judea and Samaria. Huckabee refuses to recognize Gaza or the West Bank, but only the biblical terms. So when Trump made his announcement public, to all Americans he was lying through his teeth rubbing it in when he claimed: Mike [Huckabee] will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East! Yeah, eliminating the non-entities in Gaza and West Bank that Huckabee will not acknowledge is hardly about to bring peace, but unquestionably it will bring Armageddon, which is exactly what this insane Christian Zionist Huckabee wanted all along. These forked-tongue devils Trump and company are intent on ruining us all, not just the Palestinians. Huckabee has often declared that illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and Israel’s apartheid genocide occupation of Gaza and West Bank do not even exist, because they’ve always been ordained by Huckabee’s warped God as rightfully belonging to “the chosen people.” And as such, he never accepted the “two-state solution.” Again, Christian Zionists make up a quarter of the American electorate, so placing high-profile Christian Zionists in his administration not only pays off his debt to those overwhelming numbers that fervently voted for him but also those big donor Jews like Adelson who own him. But even more important to Trump, he is paying off his debt bondage to the Rothschild City of London clan that repeatedly bailed his ass out of past bankruptcies, and now all the powerbrokers that made certain Trump was reinstalled for a second term to obediently follow through fulfilling his paymasters’ demand that World War III happen far sooner than later. Moving on to Trump’s pick for National Security Advisor which does not need Senate approval is Florida Congressman Mike Waltz, who also opposes diplomacy in favor of aggressive interventionism in the form of hardcore military action against US invented enemies Russia, China and Iran. Waltz is another Army National Guard Greater Israel Project war veteran who fought in Afghanistan. Trump knows that choosing Zionist road warriors in his administration can be counted on to obediently line up to declare war against any and all readymade “axis-of-evil” enemies – Russia, China and Iran. Rep. Mike Waltz sits on the US Armed Services Committee and in the past has also called for the US to drop bombs on Iran, regarding the higher paygrade Israel as “the greatest ally we’ve ever known.” According to the Rothschild owned Associated Press, the current issues facing US president’s national security advisor involve continuing support for Ukraine against Russia, with as of late a special focused concern on the strategic defense pact between Moscow and North Korea (i.e., only the US is allowed allies), and the escalating mess in the Middle East between Israel and its sworn enemy Iran that includes its so-called proxies Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis. These former military officers who already rushed to Israel’s aid fighting in earlier Greater Israel Project wars in the Middle East, Waltz as a Green Beret colonel no less, are instant readymade war hawks eager to deploy US boots on the ground in combat in whatever and wherever hostile hotspot direction their Synagogue of Satan superiors point them to. With two wars raging and a third hotspot heating up in Pacific Asia, Waltz is ready to waltz into World War III headfirst in all three theaters of operation. After all, this guy comes locked and loaded in the NSA driver’s seat ready to send US boots on the ground to battle anywhere City of London wants him. This Cold War interventionist hardliner has never seen a war he doesn’t like. Regarding the one in Ukraine, Mike Waltz wants US troops fighting alongside Kiev forces, operating US longer-range weapons striking targets deeper inside Russia. And if that’s not enough provocation to ignite WWIII directly against Russia, possessing the strongest, most armed advanced, battle-hardened military in the world, then Waltz has plenty of other warzones to fight. His pet peeve has always been China. Seems each of these Trump war lovers have a particular hankering for their favorite enemy combat zone. This Trump road warrior Mike Waltz established his favorite enemy to be Red China, permanently, deeply immersed in Cold War mindset with a particular hardon for starting a hot war against Beijing: We are in a cold war… the Chinese Communist Party has entered a Cold War with us, seeks to supplant us, and seeks to defeat us… We need to make it very clear to China that invading Taiwan, which will then allow China to control about 50 percent of global trade and GDP, isn’t acceptable. The fact that it was the City of London moneychangers that purposely allowed Taiwan to control over 90% of the world production of cutting-edge microchips essential for smartphones, data centers and advanced military equipment, means that among the many engineered mega-crises, creating global supply chain disruption becomes just another one of their weapons. After selecting a Christian Zionist US ambassador to mighty Israel, US and Israel are in synch now exterminating the rest of the Palestinians as homage to the Greater Israel Project. Next, we turn to Trump’s selection of New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as the US Ambassador to the United Nations. She follows an already illustrious parade of globalist female US uniparty traitors -Susan Rice, Samantha Power, Nikki Haley and now replacing Linda Thomas-Greenfield. Incoming Elise wants to jail all Americans critical of Israel for “anti-Semitism.” In December last year, Stefanik brought the three Ivy League women presidents in to grill them in her Congressional hearings, so she could grandstand haranguing them (instrumental in getting them fired) for daring to allow their students to exercise their First Amendment rights to peaceful assembly protest over US and Israel’s daily slaughter of innocent Palestinians in Gaza. Like so many anti-constitutional traitors in Congress, through their blatant words and actions, they continue getting away with never upholding their sworn oaths to protect and defend the US Constitution, which in itself renders them traitors. Trump lies with every traitor he brings aboard his Israel first government: Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter. No, she’s not, she is the exact opposite as another treasonous Trump Israel Firster. You will not be a member of this administration unless you are an Israel first and Americans last Trumper. The Biden regime treasonously places foreign invaders first over Americans’ self-interests while the Trump regime places Jews and Israel interests over and above every American’s. A November 13th Mondoweiss article stated this about the incoming US ambassador to the UN: In May, Stefanik delivered an address to the Israeli Knesset where she called for ‘wiping those responsible for October 7th off the face of the earth’ and ‘crushing’ the Palestine solidarity movement, which she said was motivated by ‘blood lust.’ How fair do you think this person will be at the UN? About a two-state solution and finally granting Palestinians the right to self-determination. It’s all too obvious Stefanik will use US veto power in the UN Security Council to block all resolutions promoting the sovereign free state of Palestine. And it appears Trump and his entire administration will do the same. Stefanik, and all of the Trump appointments, show that whichever uniparty is in charge, Americans are treated last, again all part of the criminal elites’ agenda to destroy America and Americans, right along with Palestinians and Lebanese. All these traitors that invert the truth now are allowing their criminal misdeeds to define what and who they really are. It is legally, ethically and morally wrong to conflate any criticism of an apartheid murderous Jewish State regime for their endless, ghastly, unthinkable yet unprosecuted crimes, which every person of conscience must condemn who knows right from wrong. All our government traitors are obedient to Israel first over their own country and fellow citizens they’re supposed to be serving because to keep their jobs in Washington, they must remain loyal to AIPAC bribery dictates as Israeli firsters in good standing. When Israel banned the UN humanitarian relief team from supplying food, clean water and medicine to starving Gazans suffering genocide at the hands of the criminal state of Israel, Elise Stefanik actually celebrated Israel’s ban accusing the UN agency UNRWA of “instilling antisemitic hate in Palestinians.” Aggressive neocon bulldog Stefanik as yet another Israeli firster joins the most Jewish president’s administration that is betraying all Americans’ right to free speech voicing the God honest truth, yet Stefanik gets rewarded with a new important gig inflicting further veto harm at the UN Security Council. Showing that President-elect Trump is also a traitor violating the US Constitution’s First Amendment free speech rights in his now Gulag Amerika, in September he warned: Here is what I will do to defeat anti-Semitism and defend our Jewish citizens in America: My first week back in the Oval Office, my Administration will inform every college president that if you do not end antisemitic propaganda, they will lose their accreditation and federal taxpayer support. So, this dangerous Israel/City of London controlled opposition polarizer is also flagrantly equating any criticism of Israel genocide as unlawful anti-Semitism hate speech. This proves that City of London and Israel both rule over America, and that the Jewish banking cabal reigns supreme over genocide pariahs Israel and America as well as apparently the entire world. Donald Trump chose South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to become the next Secretary running the US Department of Homeland Security, who like Trump, Stefanik and his entire team of Zionist Nazis, plan to imprison all those brave enough citizens speaking the truth about pure evil in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon, Israel and world. Plain and simple, by its actions alone, the Jewish State is a pariah state, understandably hated by millions around the globe who know right from wrong and will continue speaking against its abominable genocidal crimes. Trump and his traitors will not stop us from speaking the truth. US traitors refusing to uphold our constitutional rights are committing treason imprisoning people of conscience for merely speaking against evil, and the traitors complicit in genocide will be held to account for their egregious crimes as well. Trump chose his former Director of National Intelligence and another China hawk John Ratcliffe as the new CIA Director. The anti-China list keeps growing. All are hardliner interventionists that cast aside any prospect for diplomacy, cooperation and peace. Instead, the road ahead is paved with confrontation, escalating tension and conflict, spilling over into disaster for entire global population as World War III. Former Hawaii Representative that switched parties Tulsi Gabbard will be Trump’s Director of National Intelligence. It appears this military officer may be about his only person on his team possessing a reasonable, sound mind. Her views tend to be non-interventionist, some call “isolationist,” and without experience involving the 17 intelligence agencies she will oversee, her selection has already drawn harsh criticism from insiders accusing her of cozy relations with “dictators” Bashar Al-Assad and Vladimir Putin. From my perspective, the leader of Syria that the US belligerent attempted to illegally overthrow for years that was aided and somewhat protected by Putin is a positive accomplishment since it defied and defeated US criminality. She took a lot of heat for her bold act of diplomacy when she met with Assad. But again, I value fair-minded diplomacy over color revolutions and war, and those entrenched in Deep State geopolitics that are the CIA, DNI, FBI and the other over a dozen other US intelligence agencies all regularly engage in criminal behavior. As an outsider and not the typical slimeball that runs these types of organizations that regularly circumvent law and ethics, likely Tulsi will receive lots of pushback and resistance if she attempts to reform America’s notoriously criminal spy industry. As far as Robert Kennedy Jr picked to run the US Health and Human Services Agency, this is also an important positive choice. Kennedy’s stand against the deadly COVID vaccines has been heroic, and perhaps he can hold Big Pharma and fellow conspirators in the medical field, government and media accountable for their holocaust crimes against humanity. He faces an enormous challenge considering how evil and powerful his adversarial criminal organizations are stacked against him. One troubling issue, despite Israel’s part in his father and uncle’s murders, he appears also to be owned by Israel. Nearly the unanimous lot of Trump’s administration are neocons, all pro-Israel extremists that are totally anti-Iran, anti-China and anti-Russia. As aggressive interventionist warmakers and Synagogue of Satan order-followers rushing humanity to catastrophic World War III, the future looks dark and very bleak. At least Tulsi and RFK Jr are the one bright spot in all of this and definitely represent a step in the right direction, though it seems they are unwelcome outsiders amidst a hostile danger zone full of criminals, thus facing immense adversity and opposition trying to make progress to drain the shark-infested swamp. The Killing of History. John Pilger. His Legacy Will Live The cynical fabrication of "false flags" that led to the invasion of Vietnam [First published by Global Research on September 24, 2017] One of the most hyped “events” of American television, The Vietnam War, has started on the PBS network. The directors are Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. Acclaimed for his documentaries on the Civil War, the Great Depression and the history of jazz, Burns says of his Vietnam films, “They will inspire our country to begin to talk and think about the Vietnam war in an entirely new way”. In a society often bereft of historical memory and in thrall to the propaganda of its “exceptionalism”, Burns’ “entirely new” Vietnam war is presented as “epic, historic work”. Its lavish advertising campaign promotes its biggest backer, Bank of America, which in 1971 was burned down by students in Santa Barbara, California, as a symbol of the hated war in Vietnam. Burns says he is grateful to “the entire Bank of America family” which “has long supported our country’s veterans”. Bank of America was a corporate prop to an invasion that killed perhaps as many as four million Vietnamese and ravaged and poisoned a once bountiful land. More than 58,000 American soldiers were killed, and around the same number are estimated to have taken their own lives. I watched the first episode in New York. It leaves you in no doubt of its intentions right from the start. The narrator says the war “was begun in good faith by decent people out of fateful misunderstandings, American overconfidence and Cold War misunderstandings”. The dishonesty of this statement is not surprising. The cynical fabrication of “false flags” that led to the invasion of Vietnam is a matter of record – the Gulf of Tonkin “incident” in 1964, which Burns promotes as true, was just one. The lies litter a multitude of official documents, notably the Pentagon Papers, which the great whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg released in 1971. There was no good faith. The faith was rotten and cancerous. For me – as it must be for many Americans – it is difficult to watch the film’s jumble of “red peril” maps, unexplained interviewees, ineptly cut archive and maudlin American battlefield sequences. In the series’ press release in Britain – the BBC will show it – there is no mention of Vietnamese dead, only Americans. “We are all searching for some meaning in this terrible tragedy,” Novick is quoted as saying. How very post-modern. All this will be familiar to those who have observed how the American media and popular culture behemoth has revised and served up the great crime of the second half of the twentieth century: from The Green Berets and The Deer Hunter to Rambo and, in so doing, has legitimised subsequent wars of aggression. The revisionism never stops and the blood never dries. The invader is pitied and purged of guilt, while “searching for some meaning in this terrible tragedy”. Cue Bob Dylan: “Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?” I thought about the “decency” and “good faith” when recalling my own first experiences as a young reporter in Vietnam: watching hypnotically as the skin fell off Napalmed peasant children like old parchment, and the ladders of bombs that left trees petrified and festooned with human flesh. General William Westmoreland, the American commander, referred to people as “termites”. In the early 1970s, I went to Quang Ngai province, where in the village of My Lai, between 347 and 500 men, women and infants were murdered by American troops (Burns prefers “killings”). At the time, this was presented as an aberration: an “American tragedy” (Newsweek ). In this one province, it was estimated that 50,000 people had been slaughtered during the era of American “free fire zones”. Mass homicide. This was not news. To the north, in Quang Tri province, more bombs were dropped than in all of Germany during the Second World War. Since 1975, unexploded ordnance has caused more than 40,000 deaths in mostly “South Vietnam”, the country America claimed to “save” and, with France, conceived as a singularly imperial ruse. The “meaning” of the Vietnam war is no different from the meaning of the genocidal campaign against the Native Americans, the colonial massacres in the Philippines, the atomic bombings of Japan, the levelling of every city in North Korea. The aim was described by Colonel Edward Lansdale, the famous CIA man on whom Graham Greene based his central character in The Quiet American. Quoting Robert Taber‘s The War of the Flea, Lansdale said, “There is only one means of defeating an insurgent people who will not surrender, and that is extermination. There is only one way to control a territory that harbours resistance, and that is to turn it into a desert.” Nothing has changed. When Donald Trump addressed the United Nations on 19 September – a body established to spare humanity the “scourge of war” – he declared he was “ready, willing and able” to “totally destroy” North Korea and its 25 million people. His audience gasped, but Trump’s language was not unusual. His rival for the presidency, Hillary Clinton, had boasted she was prepared to “totally obliterate” Iran, a nation of more than 80 million people. This is the American Way; only the euphemisms are missing now. Returning to the US, I am struck by the silence and the absence of an opposition – on the streets, in journalism and the arts, as if dissent once tolerated in the “mainstream” has regressed to a dissidence: a metaphoric underground. There is plenty of sound and fury at Trump the odious one, the “fascist”, but almost none at Trump the symptom and caricature of an enduring system of conquest and extremism. Where are the ghosts of the great anti-war demonstrations that took over Washington in the 1970s? Where is the equivalent of the Freeze Movement that filled the streets of Manhattan in the 1980s, demanding that President Reagan withdraw battlefield nuclear weapons from Europe? The sheer energy and moral persistence of these great movements largely succeeded; by 1987 Reagan had negotiated with Mikhail Gorbachev an Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) that effectively ended the Cold War. Today, according to secret Nato documents obtained by the German newspaper, Suddeutsche Zetung, this vital treaty is likely to be abandoned as “nuclear targeting planning is increased”. The German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel has warned against “repeating the worst mistakes of the Cold War… All the good treaties on disarmament and arms control from Gorbachev and Reagan are in acute peril. Europe is threatened again with becoming a military training ground for nuclear weapons. We must raise our voice against this.” But not in America. The thousands who turned out for Senator Bernie Sanders‘ “revolution” in last year’s presidential campaign are collectively mute on these dangers. That most of America’s violence across the world has been perpetrated not by Republicans, or mutants like Trump, but by liberal Democrats, remains a taboo. Barack Obama provided the apotheosis, with seven simultaneous wars, a presidential record, including the destruction of Libya as a modern state. Obama’s overthrow of Ukraine’s elected government has had the desired effect: the massing of American-led Nato forces on Russia’s western borderland through which the Nazis invaded in 1941. Obama’s “pivot to Asia” in 2011 signaled the transfer of the majority of America’s naval and air forces to Asia and the Pacific for no purpose other than to confront and provoke China. The Nobel Peace Laureate’s worldwide campaign of assassinations is arguably the most extensive campaign of terrorism since 9/11. What is known in the US as “the left” has effectively allied with the darkest recesses of institutional power, notably the Pentagon and the CIA, to see off a peace deal between Trump and Vladimir Putin and to reinstate Russia as an enemy, on the basis of no evidence of its alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election. The true scandal is the insidious assumption of power by sinister war-making vested interests for which no American voted. The rapid ascendancy of the Pentagon and the surveillance agencies under Obama represented an historic shift of power in Washington. Daniel Ellsberg rightly called it a coup. The three generals running Trump are its witness. All of this fails to penetrate those “liberal brains pickled in the formaldehyde of identity politics”, as Luciana Bohne noted memorably. Commodified and market-tested, “diversity” is the new liberal brand, not the class people serve regardless of their gender and skin colour: not the responsibility of all to stop a barbaric war to end all wars. “How did it fucking come to this?” says Michael Moore in his Broadway show, Terms of My Surrender, a vaudeville for the disaffected set against a backdrop of Trump as Big Brother. I admired Moore’s film, Roger & Me, about the economic and social devastation of his hometown of Flint, Michigan, and Sicko, his investigation into the corruption of healthcare in America. The night I saw his show, his happy-clappy audience cheered his reassurance that “we are the majority!” and calls to “impeach Trump, a liar and a fascist!” His message seemed to be that had you held your nose and voted for Hillary Clinton, life would be predictable again. He may be right. Each missile with a heavy warhead found its mark, slipping past multiple layers of air defense as if they were mildly inconvenient clouds, leaving Israel’s much-hyped military infrastructure reeling. As the dust settled and uncomfortable truths began to emerge, the Israeli regime swiftly enacted a media blackout, banning any discussion of the number of casualties or the extent of damage. After all, invincibility is easier to claim when nobody sees the broken glass. The regime brags about its military invincibility and impenetrable radar systems. Iranian missiles made mincemeat of them. Among the key targets were the “Tel Nof” airbase near Tel Aviv, the “Nevatim” airbase that houses F-35 warplanes, the “Ramon” airbase, and the “Hatzerim” airbase, among others. For the few journalists audacious enough to report on “Operation True Promise II,” and the damage it caused, like Jeremy Loffredo of Grayzone website, daring came with a price: quick detainment and trumped-up charges—a modern “reward” for seeking the truth. But information has a habit of leaking out, and so it did: reports of massive damage inflicted by Iranian missiles like the Ghadr, Emad, and the hypersonic Fattah-1—a reminder that not all high-tech military systems can withstand the power of Iranian missiles. It’s not for nothing that Iran is today known as a missile and drone power in the world. The missiles didn’t just destroy the military infrastructure. Scores of soldiers stationed at these bases also vanished into thin air, though Israel’s official line remained notably silent, preferring downplay over transparency, to avoid further embarrassment and humiliation. A journalist who spoke to eyewitnesses there told me that the Nevatim Airbase, which has served as a launch point for deadly air operations against Gaza and more recently Lebanon and is located deep inside the Negev desert, said dozens of missiles landed inside the base, inflicting heavy damage. The attack brought the base to a grinding halt and resulted in scores of military fatalities. The regime, however, refused to publicly acknowledge it. He also referred to the missiles that landed in Tel Aviv, near the Mossad headquarters, which destroyed a good part of the city block, resulting in both human and collateral losses. Again it wasn’t made public. “Cars were entirely destroyed, debris covered everything in a 200-foot radius and the missile crater — which was at least 50 feet wide, was filled in and covered with dirt almost immediately by Israeli authorities, which underscores how embarrassing this was for Israel which boasts often about the efficiency of its billion-dollar missile defense systems,” the journalist told me. Just weeks later, on October 18, the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement delivered a less subtle but strong message, this time with a drone dining-room delivery, straight to the Golani Brigade’s reconnaissance unit in the occupied city of Haifa. Israeli media initially hesitated, before begrudgingly confirming five soldier deaths. However, as sources under the cloak of anonymity later revealed, the real number was much higher, buried under layers of secrecy and silence that have come to characterize the Zionist military’s standard operating procedure. Recent ground battles between the Israeli military and Hezbollah resistance fighters in southern Lebanon have evidently driven Israeli forces to the breaking point, with eyewitness accounts suggesting Israeli fatalities in the hundreds, as well as destruction of Merkava tanks, military bulldozers, armored vehicles, troop carriers as well as Hermes 450 drones. That label and serial number traced back to the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, located in Middletown, population 336. The area’s largest employer, the massive Ammunition Plant is housed on 19,011 acres and operated by the defense contractor American Ordnance, LLC, a subsidiary of Day & Zimmerman. The plant is just one of numerous defense contractors across the country feeding Israel with its bombs, bullets, and shells to bring death and destruction to more than 41,000 Palestinians—mostly innocent women and children like Hind and her family—and medical workers like the ambulance paramedics. That meant boom times for “Bombville”—McAlester, Oklahoma, the small town where the mammoth McAlester Army Ammunition Plant is located, and where America’s biggest non-nuclear bombs are built, before being shipped off to Israel. Behind high fencing, the facility occupies a 70-square-mile site—bigger in area than Washington, DC. The idea was to construct buildings far apart from each other so an explosion in one won’t cause a chain reaction. Among McAlester’s products is the 2,000-pound MK-84, manufactured by General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. Since October 7, 2023, the Pentagon has shipped more than 14,000 of these behemoths to Israel for use in tiny, tightly packed Gaza. As was the case with other media outlets, some of Loffredo’s footage was shot near sensitive Israeli sites. Israeli forces again attack UNIFIL in southern Lebanon, peacekeepers injured Anadolu Agency reports: Israeli forces on Friday launched another attack on the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in southern Lebanon, injuring several Sri Lankan peacekeepers stationed there. An Israeli Merkava tank reportedly targeted one of UNIFIL’s observation towers on a main road, in front of a Lebanese Army checkpoint, injuring the Sri Lankan contingent stationed there. Israeli artillery fired a shell that struck the main entrance of the UNIFIL command center, causing damage to the site. This was the second attack on the location in three days. According to legal experts, recent Israeli attacks on the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) constitute a serious violation of international law. AL JAZEERA ADDS: The Israeli military says it is “conducting a thorough review” to determine details of attacks on UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon: “The [Israeli military] expresses deep concern over incidents of this kind and is currently conducting a thorough review at the highest levels of command to determine the details,” the army said in a statement. Anadolu Agency reports: The US expanded sanctions on Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical sectors in response to Iran’s Oct. 1 attack on Israel, the Treasury Department said on Friday. “This action intensifies financial pressure on Iran, limiting the regime’s ability to earn critical energy revenues to undermine stability in the region and attack U.S. partners and allies,” the department said in a statement. “As long as Iran devotes its energy revenues to funding attacks on our allies, supporting terrorism around the world, and pursuing other destabilizing actions, we will continue to use all the tools at our disposal to hold it accountable. “These measures will be reinforced by ongoing close coordination with partners and allies to address and counter Iran’s actions,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement. US military veteran arrested by Israeli forces in occupied West Bank Middle East Eye reports: United States citizen and military veteran, Michael Jacobsen, was arrested Thursday by Israeli forces while accompanying a Palestinian farmer in a village in the West Bank, according to the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). The ISM said the farmer was facing “daily harassment, attacks, and invasions of his private land by Israeli settlers and occupation forces”. Israeli police arrested Jacobsen and took him into custody at the interrogation center created by Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. ISM explained that Israel has a policy of silencing international activists, who often raise awareness of the plight of Palestinians. Police said Jacobsen was “endangering the public due to provocation of disturbances” and accused him of entering the country illegally because they suspected him of supporting the Palestinian-led Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment (BDS) movement – which is forbidden in Israel. Jacobsen was threatened with “imprisonment and deportation if he did not leave the country immediately”, according to the ISM, and he chose to leave for Jordan. Israel is likely why. Kenneth Roth writes for the Guardian: Something unusual happened this week at the UN: the US government decided not to run for a second term on the human rights council. Various rationales are circulating, but one, in my view, looms large: Israel. Or more to the point, Joe Biden’s refusal to suspend or condition the massive US arms sales and military aid to Israel as its military bombs and starves the Palestinian civilians of Gaza. The election for the 47-member human rights council in Geneva is conducted by the UN general assembly in New York. It is rare that the UN general assembly has the chance to vote on the US government’s conduct. Given widespread outrage at Israeli war crimes in Gaza – and at Biden’s refusal to use the enormous leverage of US arms sales and military aid to stop it – that vote could easily have resulted in an overwhelming repudiation of the Biden administration. Rather than face the possibility of a humiliating reprimand, the US government withdrew its candidacy. By virtue of its diplomatic and economic power, the US government can be an important force for human rights. Other than on Israel, its presence on the council has generally helped the defense of human rights. But US credibility, already compromised by Washington’s close alliances with the repressive likes of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, has been profoundly undermined by Biden’s aiding and abetting of Israeli war crimes in Gaza. Germany to supply Israel with new arms shipments Middle East Monitor reports: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced that Berlin will deliver new shipments of weapons to Israel. This is in contrast to French President Emmanuel Macron who has called for a halt to any arms supplies to the occupation state if they are to be used in Gaza. Speaking before the Bundestag during discussions marking the first anniversary of 7 October 2023, Scholz said: “We in the government have made decisions that will ensure the delivery of more weapons soon.” “We have not decided to cease arms deliveries,” Scholz added, addressing claims from the opposition that the government paused weapons shipments to Tel Aviv for months, causing a “breach in German solidarity” with Israel. The German chancellor further stated, “We have delivered weapons and will continue to deliver weapons,” without specifying their type, quantity, or intended purpose. Iraqi resistance warns of crippling oil shortages worldwide if Israel begins ‘energy war’ The Cradle reports: A leader of a major faction in the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has warned that if Israel begins a war that involves the energy sector, the world will lose 12 million barrels per day, “and this is what we will make sure of.” Abu Ali al-Askari, the head of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades Security Bureau, stated: “This is what we will be taking care of, but only God knows what our brethren in Yemen will do in Bab al-Mandab and our brethren in Iran will do in the Strait of Hormuz,” referring to important shipping routes for oil tankers. Israeli leaders have threatened to launch a massive attack against Iran, including against nuclear power and oil infrastructure.
