[2COR.5:1-5] PART ONE! 🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥 FOR ONCE, SUPPOSEDLY *ALMIGHTY* SCIENCE HAS NOTHING USEFUL TO TELL US ABOUT WHAT AFTER DEATH HOLDS FOR US! Strange and funny as it may seem to the unbeliever, death is not the end of our earthly story. Of all the fears that plague the heart of man, none is greater than the fear of death. It is our greatest fear, the sum of all other fears. We are afraid to die. We are afraid of what happens when we die. The rich, poor, black, white, lazy, strong,etc...the entire humanity. But, what's funny for me is the thought that, the man who boasts and thumps his chest, *DO YOU KNOW ME...DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO,* is actually afraid of death! The boast of heraldry, the pomp of power, And all that beauty, all that wealth ever gave, Awaits alike the inevitable hour, The whole paths lead but to the grave. Life is short and so uncertain. “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14b). Moses said to the Lord in Psalm 90:5-6, “You sweep men away in the sleep of death; they are like the new grass of the morning-though in the morning it springs up new, by evening it is dry and withered.” The Greek playwright Sophocles said it this way: “Of all the great wonders, none is greater than man. Only for death can he find no cure.” There is “a time to be born and a time to die” (Ecclesiastes 3:2). Visit any cemetery and you can’t really tell much difference between the Christian and the non-Christian. Oh, you can intuit something by reading the markers, but the dead lie buried side by side, six feet underground. There they are, all grouped together, young and old, male and female, rich and poor, famous and infamous, churchgoers and nonbelievers. Does death win in the end? On this side of the grave it’s hard to tell. Or so it seems. Death is not the end of the story for those who know the Lord. The Bible tells us what lies ahead for those who know Christ Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 5, we discover wonderful truths that give us hope as we face death with all its dark fears. This passage as a whole is one of the most difficult among all the things Paul wrote, and yet once you get past the difficulties, there is a simplicity about it that attracts the believing heart. Even if we do not understand every detail, the first impression it leaves with the reader gives hope as we look ahead to the end of our earthly journey and wonder, “What’s next?” Paul tells us in very picturesque language that we have nothing to fear, that no matter how we die or when or where, and no matter what may be our physical condition at the moment of death, we have a promise from God that death itself cannot break. 👉I. THE CERTAINTY OF THE RESURRECTION BODY! “Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands” (verse 1). Surely the most important part of this verse comes in the first three words. “Now we know.” Death itself confronts us with many mysteries. No one who reads these words can say with certainty how much longer they will live. Every single breath we take is a gift from God. As to what happens after we die, FOR ONCE, SCIENCE HAS NOTHING USEFUL TO TELL US. The great researchers have no certain knowledge about what happens a minute after we die. We will not get the answer from philosophy or from history. If you visit a vast cemetery, all you know for certain is it is full of dead people who once were alive. Try as you might, you cannot divine from studying the dead what happens when we die. But Paul assures in God's Word that there are some things we can know with certainty. (A) WE LIVE IN A TENT! Our bodies are like tents. They wear out, they sag, they expand, they wrinkle, the joints get creaky, the arteries harden, gravity pulls everything downward, the heart slows down, the eyes grow dim, the teeth fall out, the back is stooped, and the arms grow weary. Our bones break, our muscles weaken. The body bulges in the wrong places. We brag about our strength but a tiny microbe can kill us. Sooner or later we grow old and our bodies begin to break down. Eventually they stop working altogether. No amount of Vitamin C or Siberian Ginseng can change that fact. At best, we can only slow down the aging process; we cannot delay it forever. As we age, we pay more attention to things like diet and exercise. Fitness is in, and we’ve got runners and bikers and marathoners and people who lift weights four times a week. Yet, as you do all these, you’re still falling apart. Now all of that is good. Exercise is good and good nutrition is even better, and it would help all of us to get in shape and stay in shape. Yet, our body won’t last forever. We can eat all the right diet we want, but our body will still fall apart in the end. Do we know our body disintegrates all the time? The cells of our body are actually programmed to die. (B) WE WILL ONE DAY TRADE IN OUR TENT FOR A BUILDING! Think about the difference between a tent and a building. Tents are temporary and flimsy, easily torn, and meant to be replaced. A building is strong, built on a foundation, and not meant to be moved. Someday we will give up our tent and replace it with a building made by God Himself. That one fact tells us something important about death👇; Death is not the end. Death is not reincarnation. Death is not evaporation. Death is not annihilation. Death is a trade-in. One day we will trade in our broken down bodies for a new body. Look what Paul says about that new body. It is from God. It is not made with hands. It is eternal. It is heavenly, not earthly. Death is a trade-in. That’s what Paul means when he says, “We know.” Lots of things we don’t know about the future, but this much is certain. We won’t have to live in tents forever. Someday our “tent” will be replaced with a “building” made by God. THE THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS IN A WORLD WHERE SIN IS KING (MATTHEW 4:9) 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 HOW THE DEVIL IS USING THE *LITTLE FOXES* IN OUR MIDST TO WRECK HAVOC IN THE CHURCH (SONGS OF SOLOMON 2:15) 🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥 Let's start with this observation, *Indefensible conduct is defended, inexcusable conduct is excused. Without accountability, it all becomes normal, and it will recur.* And continue with this; “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, Our vineyard that are in bloom” Songs of Solomon 2:15 Since I ran into this teaching this morning, I haven't always been a bubbling character,but this definitely worsened it. For,I saw in myself both victim and villain. I don't believe in flattering, and so I feel this scripture carries a profound instruction for every child of God. Foxes are destructive regardless of the size (little or big); as a matter of fact, foxes have been used severally in the Bible as a metaphor for destruction. ‘Little foxes’ in this context refers to those sins, attitudes and habits that we more often over-look, excuse or defend. Inconsequential as we may attempt to make them, they could have a huge negative impact in our lives,even as far as denying us the rapture , and by implications,*eternal life!* Too many times we are on the defensive because we feel we cannot do what the Bible says we should do. And then we struggle and argue, trying to twist the Bible to suit our position on the issues at hand.*THESE ARE THE LITTLE FOXES,* in our lives. None is exempted or immuned from the impact of these little forces, from pulpit to pew and from pew back to the pulpit. Titles even make it worse. Q5 You see some people saying things like: *thou shall not smoke* is not in the Bible; it still doesn’t change that that habit has a negative effect on you. *For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumble at just one point is guilty of breaking it all* James 2:10 The reason why we get into these inner conflict is because we have not fully understood the implication of what Christ Jesus did on the Cross. He didn’t die just so He can forgive our sins when we get born-again and then expects us to figure out how to live right hence forth, No. He took away our sins and then made grace available to help us live the life He has called us to live. Titus 2:12 tells us that *God’s word teaches us to say *No*to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this PRESENT AGE. This is by the power of HIS SPIRIT that is at work within us… for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil His good purpose. However that *He works in you* doesn’t mean once we get born again, all the habits just fades and we begin to live a godly life automatically. What we received from salvation is the life of God in our spirit; our flesh is still the way it was. It is our responsibility to nurture the life that we received to effectively replace the old life. This is a continuous process; hence the Bible talks about the renewing of our mind by the word as seen in Romans 12:2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For instance,we still cheat,tell lies,cover up wrongs by aiding and abetting with subtle threats of reprisals. But of all this,I consider the unforgiving spirit and bitterness in our hearts as even more dangerous, while not excusing or making light of others. 31. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Eph 4: 31-32) 14. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15. Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; (Heb 12: 14-15) There are many in the church that say*I am sorry I cannot say sorry and I forgive but don't forget* These are very serious little foxes that must get rid of. So, how can we remove the foxes? Here are few steps that will help. 👉Acknowledgement – the first step is to acknowledge that there is actually an issue that needs to be dealt with. Jeremiah 3:13 is a good example, where God said to the children of Israel; ‘Only acknowledge your iniquity’. This will help us to know where we are and to assess our progress. 👉Discover your true self – Our true image is not who the circumstances of our life made us to be. Our true self is the person God says we are through His word. It is not just enough to discover; we have to start acting the word by proclaiming consistently what the word says about us. As we consistently declare the word God, our life begins to go in the direction of the word. 👉Walk before God – this refers to constant fellowship and communion with God. Habits, attitudes, every negative attribute dies a natural death in the place of constant fellowship with God. As we fellowship with God, His presence rubs off on us and we begin to exhibit more of Him and less of our old self. Living the Christian life comes with many trials and temptations; there will always be little foxes placed by the devil to try to break your relationship with God. It is your duty to fight the good fight of faith and hold on to the word of God to keep you away from the little foxes. May His Grace and Mercy be sufficient for us in Christ Jesus Name, Amen 🙇🙏!

HIS WORD IN THE WORLD (JN.I:1-5) 🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥 THE TASTE OF SIN!{GEN.3:6-10} 🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥 The CONSEQUENCES of THE TASTE of SIN for the BELIEVER is by far, more GRIEVOUS and SEVERE than the UNBELIEVER LIVING in SIN. It makes the BELIEVER NAKED to the ATTACKS of the ENEMY,who has been jealous and seeking for an entrance into such a believer's life. The same act an unbeliever will commit and get away with, a believer will do same and get trapped by it. A practicing christian lady can have her womb ruptured or even die during an abortion,but a prostitute may have the abortion and come out unscathed. Just one,out of a million examples; 6. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 9. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10. And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. (Gen 3: 6-10) 👇 Many of us understand what sin is and have come to know the sins stated in the Bible, yet how come we still try to compensate and desire for a taste of sin? How far will a taste of sin cause to our lives? Can we truly live a life pleasing to God while bypassing His laws? It can be easy to underestimate the consequences of sin, and there have been times in my life when I thought that I could justify my actions despite what the Bible says. I thought that I could still please God as long I acknowledge Him, loved Him, and served Him. But I have found that there is only ONE fact that we should all know about sin: SIN SEPARATES US FROM GOD. No matter how big or small your sin is, it all separates you from the grace and blessings of God. When Eve sinned through eating the fruit from the Tree of Life that God had forbid her from eating, God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. They were separated from God, and if we continue to keep sin in our lives, just like Adam and Eve, we will be separated from God in our lives. Sin does not take away God’s love for us, but it does put us outside of the blessings that God had originally planned for us. Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your inequities have separated you from you God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” GOD DOESN'T HATE US AS A PERSON, BUT HATES THE SIN IN OUR PERSON. Like Eve, if we take a taste of the “forbidden fruit” in our lives, we will find God’s consequences soon enough. Sin always seems good and harmless ... like the forbidden fruit that Eve was tempted to eat. Genesis 3:6 says; Eve saw the fruit as “good for food and pleasing to the eye.” Sin will never seem bad to us; it will always be desiring and seems to bring a benefit to us ... but only a temporary one. You may think that sinning once, or just having a taste of sin is no harm, but looking to what happened to Eve, just one bite of the forbidden fruit brought curse to all generations to come. There will always be a consequence to sin, and it will definitely be greater than the instant gratification it brings. Let us ask ourselves this: What good will a taste of sin have in our lives? Why would we even want a taste of sin that God warns us to stay away from? What good would sin really bring to our lives? Don’t let a taste of sin get in the way of God’s blessing for us. We are all still dealing with the same Satan that tempted Eve. Don’t fall for the doubts and lies that he will plant in your mind. We all face temptation the same way like Eve. It all starts from doubting God’s law, and then justifying that sin is no longer sin nor harmful to us. Many of us face sin saying to ourselves, “What can possibly be bad from doing this?” Satan is good at telling you the benefits of sin, but he certainly will not tell you the consequences of it. He told Eve that the benefit of eating the fruit would bring her wisdom and make her like God. He was right, but he surely did not tell her that sin would separate Adam and her from God. Satan knows that sin separates us from God, and he will do everything he can to deceive us into compensating for sin. Don’t use your own reasoning to justify if you should sin or not. Trust that God loves you and that He knows what is best for you. John 14:6 says, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Only God’s way will bring you life to the fullest. God wants to be one with us and He has planned blessings and a prosperous future for us. So remember, don’t try a taste of sin. For every sin, there's a consequence...and also a redemption called GRACE. When we realize our sin and cry out to God for Mercy, He will forgive us and cleanse us; If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1Jn 1: 9) But, it doesn't end there. God will show us His displeasure for that sin by chastising us,(just like our earthly parents will discipline us when wrong),that we may register in our hearts His Hatred of Sin; Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity... ? (Hab 1: 13) 5. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Heb 12: 5-6) But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (Heb 12: 8) May our Ever Good and Faithful God help and strengthen us to fear sin like a plague in Christ Jesus' Name Amen, 🙇🙏!

INDEED, FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE FROM THE WOMB! 🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥 USING OUR TONGUES WISELY{JAS.3:1-12,2SAM.6:20-23,PRO.15:1} 🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥🚥 1. By a soft answer wrath is turned away, but a bitter word is a cause of angry feelings. 2. Knowledge is dropping from the tongue of the wise; but from the mouth of the foolish comes a stream of foolish words. (Pro 15: 1-2) It's good to get our children to understand that filthy language, evil speaking, jesting and foolish talking are not for God's Children. Thus, we must be very mindful of every word that comes out of our mouths, because we shall be judged by our words. *WORDS ONCE SPOKEN, CANNOT BE TAKEN BACK!* You see, the tongue (though very small),is a very powerful organ in our body. With the tongue, we can start and end a fight. Most of the troubles we have today is because, the tongue was wrongly used. God didn't give us the tongue to mock, curse, abuse or engage in filthy conversations. When we use our tongue to tell lies or gossip about a person, we are equal to murderers. People can easily tell the kind of persons we are by what they hear from us. We shouldn't use the same tongue that we use to pray and praise God to curse, lie or say something evil. In our text,(Jas.3:1-12), James describes the power of the tongue showing that, there's the power of life and death in it, and so must be very intentionally careful about what comes out from it. In 2Sam.6:20-23,Michal, King David's wife was punished by God with childlessness, because she used her tongue to mock and make jest of her husband who danced joyfully and wholeheartedly for the Lord, to express his profound gratefulness that the Ark of God has finally come back home to Jerusalem. SHE BECAME THE ONLY BARREN WOMAN RECORDED IN THE BIBLE...yes, it's as serious as that. This indeed shows us how how concerned God is, with what we say. So many people have received CONDEMNATION as a result of what they say, while some others have received COMMENDATION! Let our words, henceforth be seasoned with salt that they may minister grace to our listeners. Amen! Stop being a part of those that mock, jest, abuse, curse or engage in filthy language. Speak only what is pure, just, lovely and that which is of a good report. (Php.4:8) The key theme here is that, as a child of God, you should only speak words that give Glory to God.
