• #SoMeeUserTips~How Much is a Vote Worth?

The value of your vote is determined by the amount of #SME you have staked, the stake of the SoMeean you are upvoting and how active both of you are on #SoMee. This of course is simplified, but it'll give you a good enough idea. Your activity on SoMee is called #Gravity.

Right now with the current stake amount in votes being used, a typical vote is worth on average 1 SME per 5700 SME staked or #SMEP. I came to this amount by watching the #votes of 4 different accounts that I have access to their information, like the #VoteStrength, SME Power(SMEP) they have and #VotePower they had when voting. Then I checked the SME value of the posts before and after the votes. Using some basic math, the range was between 5300-6100 SMEP per 1 SME of value per vote.

This is only valid as of this moment with the number of users and amount of staked SME in use on average. The amount will change as we grow, which I'll explain in another SoMee User Tip.

  • #SoMeeUserTips~ #VoteStrength vs. #VotePower

Your #vote power(vp) labelled as #CurrentVP in your upper right dropdown menu let's you know how much Vote Power is left. Once it reaches zero you cannot vote until it regenerates above zero. As your vote power declines it also reduces the strength of your vote automatically. If your vote is worth 200 @sme at 100%, at 50% it is worth 100.

Your vote strength #slider does the same thing, except it gives you manual control over the strength of your vote. With a 100% vote value of 200 sme, but your vote power is at 80% and your vote strength is set at 50%, the value of your vote will be 80 sme. The negative for setting the slider below 100% is that your earnings will be lower. I'll explain this further in a future #tip.

This option is used to allow you to vote more often until you hit 80% #VP, which is the lowest you'll want to let it get in any 24 hour period. That's 10 votes at 100% current vote power and 20 if you have your vote strength set at 50%.

P.s. The SoMee Current VP display does not display in real time(there is a severe lag), so you cannot rely on it to keep track of your vote power or strength. I use #Peaked.com for this, which is accurate in realtime.

I'll posting tips here and there in the hopes that new users gain a little of knowledge about the ecosystem without having to wade through volumes of documentation. My goal is to make it simple enough to understand, even for those being introduced to blockchain tech for the first time.
