• Jenny Lake :Wyoming, USA
Jenny Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The lake was formed approximately 12,000 years ago by glaciers pushing rock debris which carved Cascade Canyon during the last glacial maximum, forming a terminal moraine which now impounds the lake

  • Just before I made it to the first of four or five #ForestLakes, I came across this beautiful #waterfall. The trail pretty much follows this stream from the #SouthBoulderCreek to the Forest Lakes. Just about all trails in the #mountains follow streams, because they take the path of least resistance.

The water flows year around most years and is 100% fed by the #glaciers that persist all year at these altitudes. The #creeks and #lakes are all loaded with #trout and it's a wonder how they all get there.

While I don't live in the #mountains yet, that's where my heart is. I spend a lot of time visiting them and will always come back. I always feel #free when on the move, even on a #roadtrip, but never as free as when I'm alone on the #trail where it's just me, the mountains and the wind.

  • The #GardenOfTheGods #ObservationTrail is only 1/4 mile long, but the beauty and variety of the #RockFormations you see have you slowing your pace to take pictures and everything around you in. All of the trail is well built from the native rock and perfectly sculpted into a level pathway that will last. You can climb on the rock formations and they have multiple #ScenicOverlooks from the rock cliffs themselves to wooden decks they built in a couple spots. Some of it is even #WheelchairAccessible.

This area used to be an ancient shallow sea and after that was further carved out by the #Glaciers. Usually when you hear #Illinois #Chicago comes to mind and you wouldn't even think the state has something like this to offer. The whole Southern part of the state is worth checking out for the adventure minded individuals.

  • I had no idea the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans did not mix!
Because there is a huge difference in salinity between the clear water of the Pacific Ocean that comes from melting glaciers, is cool and low in salt, while the water from the Atlantic Ocean has a high salt concentration from many rivers along South America.  Therefore, the two oceans have different densities, which makes the waters almost impossible to mix.

  • Lake Peyto in Canada was chosen as the most beautiful place on the planet. With crystal clear turquoise water fed by glaciers atop the mighty Rocky Mountains, this lake is the perfect backdrop for a wonderful postcard. The contrast between the color of the lake and the dark green forest at the base of the grandiose snowy mountains make this place, in Banff National Park, one of the most popular natural destinations for tourists in Canada. A panoramic viewpoint allows you to observe it from above, perfect for unforgettable photos. To get to the Park, it is best to take a flight to Calgary and then follow the road for just over 100 km.

  • Glow Worm Cave,New Zealand
New Zealand is one of the most scenic countries in the world but bayond the peaks of the mountain ranges the deep valleys and the glaciers are a series of caves that seem to have come straight from a fairy tale the reason for this is because they’re home to glowworms which  are the larval forms of a species of fungus gnat that are endemic to the country know locally is ttyl which means projected over water the bioluminescence that’s produced in the insects abdomens is designed to attract prey and happens as a result of a chemical reaction between a Lucifer rays enzyme and a molecule of Luciferian it creates one of the most stunning sights that you can see in the natural world and makes for a magical boat ride through the cavern when thousands of the glowworms are active

  • There is a place in Gulf of Alaska where two oceans meet but do not mix. Many have heard of it but few look up how this is possible or if it's even true.
While "two oceans meet" might be a cool name, it is false. The lighter water is from glaciers melting and having a light, cool and less salinity than the ocean they dont mix well or fast enough to combine.
