ALARMING DEVELOPMENT
—The departure of aviation pioneer Ato Girma Wake ("Father of African Aviation") from Board Chairman of the Ethiopian Airline Group, marks the darkest moment in the history of @flyEthiopian.

Inside sources say PM @AbiyAhmedAli fired him for saying NO to unethical demands to "Oromize" the airline with a demographic change in leadership.

Sources have also confirmed that Ato Girma Wake refused demands to replace the current CEO, Ato Mesfin Tasew (#Amhara), with the current CCO, Ato Lemma Yadecha (Oromo); due to lack of experience, at last weeks board meeting.

Ato Girma Wake is a patriot and a legend who has been credited with being the driver that put Ethiopian Airlines on the path to become #Africa's largest and one of the best airlines in the world that competes with major tier-1 airlines around the world.

He is now being replaced with General Yilma Merdasa (Airforce Chief), an ethnic Oromo military-man with no experience in private enterprise and the complex aviation industry.

Ethiopian Aviation Academy (EAA), an Ethiopian Airlines group, provides MPL (Multi-crew Pilot Licence) training for an airline based on its own operating procedures.

The graduates can perform as a co-pilot on any multi-engine multi-crew airliner without the need to go through extensive light aircraft experience, as the students are specially trained for the specific aircraft until they prove to be competent in all possible operational scenarios.

EAA is the only academy in Africa that runs the MPL program.
