With The Black Isle Show now just days away, we can’t wait to get set up and welcome some familiar and hopefully new faces to our stand.

Last year at the 2022 Black Isle Show, Gillian Butler – Product Support Sales Manager, had the pleasure of meeting 15-year-old Jamie Currie and his Dad James Currie – Managing Director of Currie Contractors. Since that meeting just 12 months ago, Jamie has now turned 16 and is working as an operator on a soil stripping job in the North of Scotland. Jamie has already begun putting his operating skills to the test, at the Scottish Plant Operator Challenge earlier this month and winning 3rd place!

It’s incredible to see the next generation starting out and beginning their careers within our industry, especially at such a young age. However, we expected nothing less from Jamie, as back in December 2020 when Jamie was just 13 years old, he became the youngest person to gain a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) Red Card at that time.

We’re excited to follow Jamie’s career and see where his dedication and passion for heavy plant machinery takes him.
