• #SoMeeUserTips~ #VoteStrength vs. #VotePower

Your #vote power(vp) labelled as #CurrentVP in your upper right dropdown menu let's you know how much Vote Power is left. Once it reaches zero you cannot vote until it regenerates above zero. As your vote power declines it also reduces the strength of your vote automatically. If your vote is worth 200 @sme at 100%, at 50% it is worth 100.

Your vote strength #slider does the same thing, except it gives you manual control over the strength of your vote. With a 100% vote value of 200 sme, but your vote power is at 80% and your vote strength is set at 50%, the value of your vote will be 80 sme. The negative for setting the slider below 100% is that your earnings will be lower. I'll explain this further in a future #tip.

This option is used to allow you to vote more often until you hit 80% #VP, which is the lowest you'll want to let it get in any 24 hour period. That's 10 votes at 100% current vote power and 20 if you have your vote strength set at 50%.

P.s. The SoMee Current VP display does not display in real time(there is a severe lag), so you cannot rely on it to keep track of your vote power or strength. I use #Peaked.com for this, which is accurate in realtime.

I'll posting tips here and there in the hopes that new users gain a little of knowledge about the ecosystem without having to wade through volumes of documentation. My goal is to make it simple enough to understand, even for those being introduced to blockchain tech for the first time.

Disclaimer~ things are being updated often. This means any information I share can change at anytime and without notice, so may not be accurate.

  • #SoMee #User #Tip~ Maximizing #Curation #Rewards
On both #Hive and SoMee you have a #limited number of #votes you can give in a 24 hour period. This is because #bandwidth is not free.

To maximize your #earnings you need to use this limit each day. This is because you earn rewards back from your votes on posts. Every missed upvote is a missed earning opportunity.

If you tap/click your avatar in the upper right you'll notice two bars. The top bar determines how strong you want your vote to be and the second how much #VotingPower you have left. When both are at 100% your vote gives the highest vote #value.

As you #vote the second bar labelled "#CurrentVP" starts to drop. Each vote you make takes away about 1.75% . The catch is, it regenerates at about 1.75% every two hours. So, if you run it down to zero, not only does your vote have no value, but it takes 4 or 5 days to power back up to 100%

This means your VP rebounds around 20% per day. If you want to vote at a decent VP daily you'll want to make sure that it never goes below 80%. This is if you don't vote that often. If you vote alot you'll want to keep it around 90%. To maximize your curation returns you'll want to figure the best bottom level for you and vote until you hit it. Then let it regenerate and vote until you hit it again and make sure you do this throughout the day.

This gives you around 10-100% votes per day. If you aren't a whale, you'll want to vote with your slider at 100% for every vote to earn the best return. The only time voting less is feasible is if you are a whale with 50 million #SME staked or more.

I've found that Somee's Current VP bar doesn't update in real time, so I use Peakd.com to keep track of mine, because it's consistently more accurate.
