I love each of my family members and friends where they play a very important part in my life. These relationships hold high value and regard. • My #AwesmeTutorialsContest Entry

"Your only limitation is the one you set up in your own mind!”

I first heard this #quote from the Season 1 Alone winner #AlanKay. Upon a bit of research it's attributed to a man named Napolean Hill. I myself have always viewed limits as self inflicted. I've acquired all the many skills I possess, because if I can take it apart, I can probably put it back together and maybe even better.

Every day of my life I put these words of wisdom into practice and wish that all of humanity would do so as well. Fear is the beginning all the limits we set and every limit makes us more dependent or restrictive in our lives. I never want to lose my independence, nor do I want to live a restricted life.

Napolean Hill has been called a failure and a conman, but he never quit trying and neither will I!

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12)

This was one of the teachings that I was taught of when I was young whenever we attend bible studies. My mom and dad never fail to remind us as well that "how we treated our parents will be the same way we will be treated by our children when we have our own family.

Time flies and my parents are more frail now, but I will always remember the way they love, nurture and at the same time let us go to grow. I will always look up to them. I hope to be atleast half of how my parents are to me to Dylan

    #AwesmeContests

The advice I got from my first boss, small businessmen: "In the job, as in life, you mostly have to rely on yourself. Straighten up, raise your head,
Don't bend the spine in front of the pressures of others, be proud and always keeps your back (ass????), against the wall ".
That advice helped me much during work life, to build integrity and relationships with colleagues and my superior.

  • My entry for the #Awesme Tutorials Advice to Live By #Contest

The best advice or tip I have used in my life myself and taught my kids was one I believe I coined myself. It's, "Being an adult isn't about doing the tough things that you like or are good at, but doing what needs to be done, simply because it needs to be done." I guess other more well known or common uses would be to tell someone to "man-up" or as they say in the Southern U.S., "Cowboy/girl-up."

The multi-skilled adult or even child in many cases from before the tech boom is becoming extinct. We used to do most everything we needed done ourselves, but as the consumer society becomes more ingrained, we tend to delegate many of the simple basics out to others. The average person I meet these days don't even know how to give their vehicles an oil change. It's a 20 minute job with little to no real skill needed, yet most will gladly pay someone else to do it. I find this to be disturbing.

Basic skills are necessary for independence and freedom, yet so many prefer to rely on others. The kids today are even worse and it's only going to worsen. When you embrace the responsibility that you need to do it, regardless of whether you like the chore or not, you build character, responsibility, maturity, independence and more skills to increase that your worth. It's the attitude within in me, which resulted in this advice that I believe we need to preserve and teach to our kids. It also creates a defined line in the sand between adolescence and adulthood.

It's obvious to many that age has little to do with defining one with the characteristics of being an adult. As a matter of fact, many adults would be not be considered as such when held to this standard. I think this is important, so that not only do our children learn the importance of hard work, but have a good gauge of what truly makes a good role model.

Do it because it needs to be done, whether or not it's hard or that you are good at it.

    Please join to add some character to the feed. I look forward to see what advice makes each and every one of tic, because they all equally important. For more details check out this post;

  • My entry for the Awesme Tutorials Contest

The best advice I ever received was given to me in two forms by two different cultures. The Westernized version is, "Practice makes perfect" and the Eastern version is, "repetition is the pathway to perfection." The latter was drilled into me by my #Hapkido instructor and the same goes for anyone who has taken #Karate. That's literally why they use #katas.

Growing up you hear the former all the time. As kids, who are just learning anything that's hard and seeing others being good at it, they tend to envy natural ability, rather than finding the motivation to get better at all costs. I not only went through this, but saw my daughter and her friends go through it as well. The excuse is usually, " I'm just not good at that..."

It was the latter that made me realize how difficult it is to translate a simple message into something our adolescents understand and take to heart. Only those with a competitive nature and a drive to win get it right away. It's those with little drive who won't get it until they are adults themselves, if at all.

The key to drive this point home as a parent or role model lays within the saying itself; Repetition, repetition, repetition... You just need to keep driving the message and finding the right words to help them understand that this piece of wisdom goes beyond sports and is relevant throughout every facet of life. It took me a while to understand this and we cannot allow the succeeding generations to dilute it's meaning.

Note- The image I used is a gif I made from an instructional video to teach myself #TaiChi. I broke it up into short pieces to make it easier to practice a piece at a time. I don't move to the next one until I have the preceding one down.I learned so much faster doing this.

  • My entry for the #Awesme Tutorials 'Best Advice You Were Ever Given' #Contest

One of the best pieces of advice I was given as a kid was, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me." I didn't realize the truth of this until I was much older, because those names certainly did seem to hurt. It was well after I matured before realizing that it was me who allowed those words to hurt me. The words themselves only have the power I give them.

After becoming an adult the strength of this saying only became stronger and stronger. This is because before graduating from High School, where you are forced to be around the same kids everyday, there seems to be no escape. As an adult I realized that not only could I chose to or not to work around people like that, but I could also chose who I wanted in my life. It was then that I decided being popular and fitting in wasn't in my best interest and that letting people go made me so much happier.

Words never hurt me again, because I realized the opinions of others don't matter and never did. It seems today that this powerful piece of advice has been corrupted and now society is filled with a new generation who thinks words are weapons and the decay of our society because of it is very noticeable.

If you'd like to join in here's the link to the contest announcement.

This is the most unforgettable chat with the developers I encountered with @PhilipRumple and christopherkramer.10
Under this queries I just raised up a simple question that I myself having confuse and no definite idea.
This was all about DELEGATION under this conversation I have learned a lot of things regarding delegation. FIRST i thought about it , you will be able to earn from other user if you delegate your SME/HIVE. So delegation is all about being generous to help someone by lending your Power either SME/HIVE. So from the point of view of the delegator you wont earn anything but only appreciation from the delegatee. So i felt so flattered when this topic become The FIRESIDE CHAT and wasnposted under Developers Blog. I want to thank again all who participated to answer those questions and made it so clear to everyone.
