How To Pray Terawih - Step-by-Step Guide

How to Pray Taraweeh step by step for Muslim

    Praise be to Allah.

One of the acts of worship that we all look forward to during Ramadan is the terawih prayer. The Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said:

    مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيْمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ

“Whoever stands (in worship) in Ramadan out of faith and hope for the rewards (from Allah), his past sins will be forgiven.”

    (Sahih Al-Bukhārī & Muslim)

The terawih prayer will begin right after the congregational Isyak prayer. Dedicated spaces for Muslimah will also be made available at most mosques.

Read: 5 Things You Need to Know About Terawih Prayer.

Want to refresh your memory on how to perform the terawih prayer? Here is a step-by-step guide that you can follow!

    1. Establish the intention to perform terawih

    how to taraweeh at home

Recite the intention for terawih prayer:

    أُصَلِّي سُنَّةَ التَراوِيحِ رَكعَتَينِ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

    Usolli sunnata-taraawiihi rak'ataini lillah ta'ala

I intend to pray the Sunnah prayer of terawih two raka'at for Allah ta'ala

If you pray in a congregation, the intentions for terawih prayer are as follows. The one who is leading the prayer as an Imam would recite:

    أُصَلِّي سُنَّةَ التَراوِيحِ رَكعَتَينِ إِمَامًا لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

    Usolli sunnata-taraawiihi rak'ataini imaamam lillah ta'ala

I intend to pray the Sunnah prayer of terawih as the Imam two raka'at for Allah ta'ala

The Makmum (follower) will recite this intention:

    أُصَلِّي سُنَّةَ التَراوِيحِ رَكعَتَينِ مَأمُومًا لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

    Usolli sunnata-taraawiihi rak'ataini makmumam lillah ta'ala

I intend to pray the Sunnah prayer of terawih as the Makmum two raka'at for Allah ta'ala

The following illustrations will guide us in praying Jema’ah (in a congregation) at home:

    2. Say the Takbiratul Ihram

    how to taraweeh at home

Takbiratul Ihram is the act of entering the state of prayer. It is done by raising your hands such that your thumbs are on the same level as your earlobes and your palms are on the same level as your shoulder.

Say ‘Allahu Akbar’ while keeping your intention in mind.

    3. Place your right hand over your left hand and recite Dua Iftitah

Stand in prayer (for the able men and women). Upon giving the Takbir, lower your hands gently over your chest and put your right hand over your left.

Recite the Dua Iftitah (opening dua) quietly only for the first raka’at:

Indeed my Solat, my good deeds, my life and my death are all for Allah The Lord of all the worlds
He has no partner nor parallel whatsoever, and I have been ordered as such, and I am from those who embrace Islam (submits).

    how to taraweeh at home

    4. Recite Surah Al-Fatihah and another Surah from the Quran

Once the Dua Iftitah is read, recite the Ta’awwudz (seeking Allah's refuge from the devil) quietly:

    أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

    A'uzu biLlāhi minash-shaytānir-rajim

I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytan

    And then read Surah Al-Fatihah:

    بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ. الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ العالَمينَ
    الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ. مالِكِ يَومِ الدّينِ

    اهدِنَا الصِّراطَ المُستَقيمَ

    Ihdināṣ-ṣirāṭal-mustaqīm
ṣirāṭallazīna anʿamta ʿalayhim ghayril-maghḍūbi ʿalayhim wa-lāḍḍāllīn

    ______

In the name of God The Most Compassionate and Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Lord of all the worlds
The Compassionate, The Merciful. Ruler on the Day of Reckoning
You alone do we worship, and You alone do we ask for help
Guide us along the straight path
the path of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace
not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray
    Amiin

Upon completing the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, you may read any memorised surah of your preference. For the second raka’at, it is encouraged to choose a verse that does not precede the first in the order of the Quran.

For example, you can read Surah Al-’Asr in the first raka’at and read Surah Al-Ikhlas in the second.

Here is a list of recommended surahs from page 34 of Contemporary Irsyad Series - Ramadan edition (English) by Office of the Mufti:

    Recommended surah in terawih prayer

While there is no harm in reading the same surah again for the next raka’at, this Ramadan could be an opportunity to learn other beautiful surah and further increase our appreciation of the Quran, especially since there are so many benefits of reciting the Quran.

You may also opt to read from the Mushaf (physical copy of Quran), maybe a pocket Quran or Quran app.

    5. Bend forward for Ruku’

Recite the Takbiratul Intiqal (Allahu Akbar) during the transition from standing to bending for Ruku’, while raising your hands just as previously explained in Takbiratul Ihram. Lower your hands gently to your knees as you move towards the Ruku’ position.

    Say three times,

    Subhanna Rabbiyal-’azim wa bihamdiHi

Glory be to Allah, the Mighty, and praise be to He

    how to pray taraweeh

    6. Stand in the upright position - I’tidal

After completing your Ruku’, return to the standing position while raising your hands just as in the Takbiratul Ihram position and recite during the transition:

    سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ

    Sami’ Allahu liman hamida

Allah has heard the one who praised Him

Lower your hands gently. When you are in the complete upright position, recite:

    رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ

    Rabbana walaKal-hamd

O Our Lord, to You are all the praises

    7. Perform the first sujud

Go into prostration while saying the Takbiratul Intiqal (Allahu Akbar) without raising your hands. Let your knees touch the ground first, followed by your palms and then your forehead. While in the first Sujud, say three times:

    سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأَعْلَى وَبِحَمْدِهِ

    Subhānna Rabbiyal-a’lā wa bihamdih

Glory be to my Lord The Most High, and praise be to He

    8. Sit on your knees

In between the two Sujud, rise from prostration to a sitting position on your knees while saying the Takbiratul Intiqal without raising your hands. In the sitting position, say :

    رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَارْحَمْنِيْ وَاجْبُرْنِيْ وَارْفَعْنِيْ وَارْزُقْنِيْ وَاهْدِنِيْ وَعَافِنِيْ وَاعْفُ عَنِّيْ

Rabbighfirlī warhamnī wajburnī warfa’nī warzuqnī wahdinī wa‘afinī wa’fu ‘annī

O Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, cover for me my shortcomings, elevate my rank, provide for me, guide me, grant me well-being, and pardon me

    9. Perform the second sujud

Afterwards, return to the prostration position to complete the second Sujud and repeat the recitation as mentioned previously. Upon fulfilling the mentioned integrals (arkān), we have completed the first raka’at.

    10. Return to the standing position

Return to the standing position as you recite the Takbiratul Intiqal and repeat the steps from 4 to 9 again to fulfil the second raka’at.

    11. Recite the final Tasyahhud

    At the end of your 2nd raka'at, sit on your left leg while the left foot is placed and briefly exposed below your right leg. Keep your right foot upright just as in the picture shown above. Complete the prayer by reciting the final Tasyahhud;

    اَلتَّحِيَّاتُ الْمُبَارَكَاتُ الصَّلَوَاتُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ ِللهِ. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِيْنَ

“At-tahiyyātul mubārakatuṣ-ṣalawātuth ṭayyibātu lillāh. Assalāmu ‘alaika ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuhu. Assalāmu ‘alainā wa ‘alā ‘ibādillāhiṣ-ṣālihīn.

Raise your right index finger. And say:

Asyhadu an lā ilāha illallāh, wa asyhadu anna Muhammadar Rasuulullāh

    Continue with the selawat:

Allahumma ṣalli 'ala Muhammadin, wa 'alā āli Muhammad, kamā ṣallaita 'ala 'āli Ibrāhīma, innaka Hamīdun Majīd. Allahumma bārik 'alā Muhammadin, wa 'alā āli Muhammad, kamā bārakta 'alā āli Ibrāhīma, innaka Hamīdun Majīd

O Allah, bestow your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as you bestowed your blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed You are Praised and Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed the family of Ibrahim. Indeed You are Praised and Glorious

    12. End with the salam

Turn your head to both of your sides, starting from the right, such that your cheek can be seen by anyone behind you, and say

    Assalamu alaykum wa-rahmatullah

Peace and Allah’s mercy be upon you

By giving the salam, we have therefore completed one set of terawih prayer.

Each terawih prayer consists of two raka’at. If you intend to pray 8 raka'at of terawih prayer, do 4 sets of 2 raka'at. If you intend to do 20 raka'at of terawih prayer, do 10 sets of terawih Prayer.

Read: How to Pray in Islam: Step-By-Step Guide to Solat for Beginners

    13. Do the witr prayer

    how to taraweeh at home

After completing the terawih prayer, it is encouraged to end the night with the witr prayer. Witr can also be performed after completing Qiyam al-Layl which refers to other supererogatory (sunnah) prayers that are done towards the end of the night or after waking up from sleep. This was mentioned by the Prophet s.a.w.:

“Make the last of your prayers at night the witr prayer."

    (Sahih Bukhari)

Witr prayer should be performed in an odd number of raka'at and is usually done in 3 raka'at. This is done by performing two raka’at of the same steps mentioned with the salam, and then followed by one raka’at with the salam to complete the three raka’at of the Witr prayer. The maximum number of raka’at for the sunnah witr prayer is 11 raka’at.

    14. Read recommended zikir and supplications

    how to taraweeh at home

There are supplications that are often read in mosques after every terawih prayer. However, if you do not read them, it does not invalidate the prayer. Nonetheless, reciting them is definitely encouraged. (Read Page 36 of Contemporary Irsyad Series - Ramadan edition)

What is important for us is to make full use of this blessed time and position to sincerely supplicate to Allah s.w.t. and express our love, hope, fear, regret, heart and soul to The One Who Hears, is Kind and Most Merciful to His servants.

However, it is understandable that we sometimes find it hard to think of what to dua. For the supplications that are often read after terawih and witr prayers, you may refer to this list of beautiful duas for Ramadan.

May this step-by-step guide on how to perform the terawih prayer benefit us. May this Ramadan be a more meaningful one, and may Allah s.w.t. accept our humble deeds. Ameen.

    Allah knows best.

For the second raka’at, it is encouraged to choose a verse that does not precede the first in the order of the Quran. For example, you can read Surah Al-’Asr in the first raka’at and read Surah Al-Ikhlas in the second. Here is a list of recommended surahs from page 34 of Contemporary Irsyad Series - Ramadan edition (English) by Office of the Mufti: Recommended surah in terawih prayer While there is no harm in reading the same surah again for the next raka’at, this Ramadan could be an opportunity to learn other beautiful surah and further increase our appreciation of the Quran, especially since there are so many benefits of reciting the Quran. You may also opt to read from the Mushaf (physical copy of Quran), maybe a pocket Quran or Quran app. 5. Bend forward for Ruku’ Recite the Takbiratul Intiqal (Allahu Akbar) during the transition from standing to bending for Ruku’, while raising your hands just as previously explained in Takbiratul Ihram. Lower your hands gently to your knees as you move towards the Ruku’ position. Subhanna Rabbiyal-’azim wa bihamdiHi Glory be to Allah, the Mighty, and praise be to He how to pray taraweeh 6. Stand in the upright position - I’tidal After completing your Ruku’, return to the standing position while raising your hands just as in the Takbiratul Ihram position and recite during the transition: سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ Sami’ Allahu liman hamida Allah has heard the one who praised Him Lower your hands gently. When you are in the complete upright position, recite: رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ Rabbana walaKal-hamd O Our Lord, to You are all the praises 7. Perform the first sujud Go into prostration while saying the Takbiratul Intiqal (Allahu Akbar) without raising your hands. Let your knees touch the ground first, followed by your palms and then your forehead. While in the first Sujud, say three times: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الأَعْلَى وَبِحَمْدِهِ Subhānna Rabbiyal-a’lā wa bihamdih Glory be to my Lord The Most High, and praise be to He 8. Sit on your knees In between the two Sujud, rise from prostration to a sitting position on your knees while saying the Takbiratul Intiqal without raising your hands. In the sitting position, say : رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَارْحَمْنِيْ وَاجْبُرْنِيْ وَارْفَعْنِيْ وَارْزُقْنِيْ وَاهْدِنِيْ وَعَافِنِيْ وَاعْفُ عَنِّيْ Rabbighfirlī warhamnī wajburnī warfa’nī warzuqnī wahdinī wa‘afinī wa’fu ‘annī O Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, cover for me my shortcomings, elevate my rank, provide for me, guide me, grant me well-being, and pardon me 9. Perform the second sujud Afterwards, return to the prostration position to complete the second Sujud and repeat the recitation as mentioned previously. Upon fulfilling the mentioned integrals (arkān), we have completed the first raka’at. 10. Return to the standing position Return to the standing position as you recite the Takbiratul Intiqal and repeat the steps from 4 to 9 again to fulfil the second raka’at. 11. Recite the final Tasyahhud At the end of your 2nd raka'at, sit on your left leg while the left foot is placed and briefly exposed below your right leg. Keep your right foot upright just as in the picture shown above. Complete the prayer by reciting the final Tasyahhud; Assalāmu ‘alaika ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuhu. Assalāmu ‘alainā wa ‘alā ‘ibādillāhiṣ-ṣālihīn. Raise your right index finger. And say: أَشْهدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُوْلُ اللهِ Asyhadu an lā ilāha illallāh, wa asyhadu anna Muhammadar Rasuulullāh Continue with the selawat: Allahumma bārik 'alā Muhammadin, wa 'alā āli Muhammad, kamā bārakta 'alā āli Ibrāhīma, innaka Hamīdun Majīd O Allah, bestow your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as you bestowed your blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed You are Praised and Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed the family of Ibrahim. Indeed You are Praised and Glorious 12. End with the salam Turn your head to both of your sides, starting from the right, such that your cheek can be seen by anyone behind you, and say السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ الله Assalamu alaykum wa-rahmatullah Peace and Allah’s mercy be upon you By giving the salam, we have therefore completed one set of terawih prayer. Each terawih prayer consists of two raka’at. If you intend to pray 8 raka'at of terawih prayer, do 4 sets of 2 raka'at. If you intend to do 20 raka'at of terawih prayer, do 10 sets of terawih Prayer. Read: How to Pray in Islam: Step-By-Step Guide to Solat for Beginners 13. Do the witr prayer how to taraweeh at home After completing the terawih prayer, it is encouraged to end the night with the witr prayer. Witr can also be performed after completing Qiyam al-Layl which refers to other supererogatory (sunnah) prayers that are done towards the end of the night or after waking up from sleep. This was mentioned by the Prophet s.a.w.: “Make the last of your prayers at night the witr prayer." (Sahih Bukhari) Witr prayer should be performed in an odd number of raka'at and is usually done in 3 raka'at. This is done by performing two raka’at of the same steps mentioned with the salam, and then followed by one raka’at with the salam to complete the three raka’at of the Witr prayer. The maximum number of raka’at for the sunnah witr prayer is 11 raka’at. 14. Read recommended zikir and supplications how to taraweeh at home There are supplications that are often read in mosques after every terawih prayer. However, if you do not read them, it does not invalidate the prayer. Nonetheless, reciting them is definitely encouraged. (Read Page 36 of Contemporary Irsyad Series - Ramadan edition) What is important for us is to make full use of this blessed time and position to sincerely supplicate to Allah s.w.t. and express our love, hope, fear, regret, heart and soul to The One Who Hears, is Kind and Most Merciful to His servants. There are many benefits of praying in a congregation. Dr. Ariyana Love Bio
September 24, 2023 by Dr. Ariyana Love
Dr. Ariyana Love is an official Goodwill Ambassador to Palestine. She’s a second-generation natural doctor, investigative journalist, medical and patent researcher, and founder of an international foundation revitalizing traditional Homeopathic medicines.

Dr. Love uses world renown disease reversing (anti-aging) protocols that detox and reverse vaxx and swab injuries. She is currently advocating for client retribution and compensation.

Dr. Love’s father, Dr. Eric Love, founded the first natural healing school in Northern California in 1981. Prior to training through the International Association of Homeopathy (Dad’s institute) in her early 20’s, she was certified in various healing modalities from Heartwood Institute of the Healing Arts School. With 18+ years of training and experience in the field of natural medicine and nutrition, she’s currently being mentored by scientist, Dr. Robert O. Young, and Biotech expert, Dr. Judy Mikovitz.

Dr. Love studied Motion Picture Video (film) at Montana State University and worked in Hollywood for about a year, before opting out of Hollywood and into corporate finance. Mentored in upper-level business management, she spearheaded a financial consulting company with Omega Financial and moved to Finland with her team in 1998, to acquire advanced technologies.

Dr. Love’s elder son was vaccine injured at the age of two. He was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism (Asperger) at age 7. She applied her medical knowledge and designed a dietary protocol that resulted in a total reversal of her son’s debilitating symptoms by the time he was 8. All of his allergies also disappeared.

In 2010, Dr. Love began homeschooling on a Native American reservation in the mountains of Northern California, where she lived with the indigenous Hoopa and Karook tribes. She studied traditional Native American Medicine and learned the Brickstitch weave from a generational teacher. Designing beautiful earring patterns is a favorite hobby. She and her sons also learned to track, hunt, skin, fish and forage.

Dr. Love is originally from the Emerald Triangle in Northern California, where she grew up along the Sequoia/Redwood coast. She has traveled the world learning traditional medicine from indigenous people and harvesting the purest medicines from nature reserves, such as the pine tree and chaparral.

Dr. Love pilgrimaged to the holy land of Palestine in 2012, and lived in a traditional Palestinian village in the Occupied West Bank for close to a year. She studied the root of Authentic World Judaism, Orthodox Christianity and Islam, and grew a heart felt appreciation for the Palestinian culture and their traditions. She discovered Palestine’s superior harvesting techniques and the many medicinal applications from the blessed olive tree, as well as other herbs and plants from the Middle East.

Dr. Love’s Ministry in Palestine activated her calling. Witnessing the injustice of Apartheid inspired her journalism and Human Rights Defending. In 2013, she was invited to train with Roger Landry from the The Liberty Beacon (TLB) news network. She Directed and built two successful news channels from the ground up before she was politically targeted and de-platformed across social media, beginning in 2017.

Dr. Love has been on the front lines in independent media, leading record-breaking campaigns in defense of political prisoners. She collaborated with Palestinian media professionals for 8 years, documenting and publishing Zionist occupation war crimes. Eventually the Palestinian Authorities (PA) and Gaza authorities awarded her with an official Goodwill Ambassador to Palestine role through the International Commission to Support Palestinian Rights (ICSPR).

Julian Assange invited Dr. Love to join WikiLeaks from Belmarsh Prison, in 2019.

Dr. Love was the first person in the world to read and document all the experimental modRNA “vaccine” patents and report them on Stew Peters Show. She applied her medical knowledge and research skills and designed protocols to naturally chelate heavy metals, cancel nanotech and detox the body from all poisons. Her protocols stop spike protein replication and restore the body’s original design. She’s been detoxing people successfully from jabs and swabs since October of 2020. She applies the Terrain theory to reverse cellular and DNA damage, brain injury, autoimmunity and essentially all diseases because the root cause is always the same.

Dr. Love’s detox and health protocols are highly sought after worldwide. She is mentored by scientist Dr. Robert Young and Biotech expert, Dr. Judy Mikovitz. Her work is published in Global Research and used by medical and legal teams and natural law tribunals.

  • ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 52: Palestinians in Gaza brace for resumption of Israeli attacks as truce reaches final day
International leaders call for extending the truce as the fourth and final round of captive exchanges is set to take place. Palestinians in Gaza are still not able to count their dead as the majority of hospitals remain out of service.

    Casualties

15,000+ killed*, including 6,150 children, and 33,000 wounded in Gaza Strip.
235 Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem
Israel revises its estimated October 7 death toll down from 1,400 to 1,200
*This figure is based on an estimate as reported by the official Palestinian news agency Wafa on October 27. Due to breakdowns in communication networks within the Gaza Strip (particularly in northern Gaza), the Gaza Ministry of Health has not been able to regularly update its tolls.

    Key Developments

Between Friday and Sunday evening, 117 Palestinians were released from Israeli jails, all of them women and children. Hamas released 58 captives, 39 Israelis, 17 Thai citizens, an Israeli-Russian, and a Filipino national.
Netanyahu said that the truce would be extended a day for every ten additional captives released by Hamas.
Qatari Prime Minister said that an extension of the truce would allow Hamas fighters to locate more Israeli captives to be released.
Hamas said in a statement that it released Roni Krivo, a Russian-Israeli citizen, in appreciation of Moscow’s support for the Palestinian cause.
On Sunday evening, 39 Palestinians were released from Israeli jails, all of them under the age of 18 years old.
Mohammed Zaqout, the general manager of hospitals in Gaza, told Al-Jazeera that hospitals in northern Gaza are short of fuel and have not received any during the truce.
The Israeli army spokesperson said that 80 out of the 184 remaining captives being held by Hamas have dual citizenship.

Israeli Prime Minister vows to continue the war on Gaza

The temporary truce in the Gaza Strip between Israeli forces and Palestinian resistance fighters is approaching its end on Monday night.

Israel is expected to carry on its airstrikes and ground incursion once the truce ends. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Sunday evening to continue the war until achieving the three goals of releasing all captives, destroying Hamas, and ensuring Gaza does not impose a “threat” to Israel.

Netanyahu said that the truce would be extended a day for every ten additional captives released by Hamas.

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, whose country hosts a Hamas office, told the Financial Times that an extension of the truce would allow Hamas to locate more captives to release.

“We don’t yet have any clear information how many they can find because… one of the purposes [of the pause] is they [Hamas] will have time to search for the rest of the missing people,” al-Thani said.

Between Friday and Sunday evening, 117 Palestinians were released from Israeli jails, all of them women and children. Hamas released 58 captives, 39 Israelis, 17 Thai citizens, an Israeli-Russian, and a Filipino national.

U.S. President Joe Biden said early on that he was “hopeful” the truce would continue.

“My expectation and hope is that as we move forward, the rest of the Arab world and the region is also putting pressure on all sides to slow this down, to bring this to an end as quickly as we can,” Biden said on Friday.

A four-year-old dual Israeli-American citizen whose father was killed in the October 7 attack is expected to be released in the fourth patch of captives held by Hamas on Monday.

39 Palestinians and 13 Israeli nationals released

On Sunday evening, Hamas released the third round of captives, which included 13 Israeli nationals, two Thais, and one Russian-Israeli citizen.

The handing over of the captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) took place in the center of Gaza City, which saw immense fighting between Israeli forces and resistance fighters.

Al-Jazeera reported that Hamas aimed to show its force in front of cameras during the captives’ release in the northern Gaza Strip, an area the Israeli army believed to be controlling vast parts of it.

Some of the fighters were mounting the infamous white pickup trucks used during the October 7 surprise attack on settlements and army bases.

Hamas said in a statement that it released Roni Krivo, a Russian-Israeli citizen, in appreciation of Moscow’s support for the Palestinian cause.

“In response to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and in appreciation of the Russian position in support of the Palestinian cause, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, released one of the detainees of the Russian citizenship,” it said in a statement on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, 39 Palestinians were released from Israeli jails, all of them under the age of 18 years old. Twenty-one were from occupied Jerusalem, and the rest from Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jericho, Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm, Qalqilya, and one from Rahah town south of Gaza Strip.

Wafa news agency reported that the underage prisoners were transported from Ofer military prisons to the towns of Ramallah and Beitunia, where they were welcomed by thousands of Palestinians.

However, prisoners from Jerusalem were handed to one member of their families at Al-Moskobiya detention and interrogation center. Any scenes of celebration were banned and subject to fine and potential arrest.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center, which documents Israeli violations in Jerusalem, posted footage of the release of a Palestinian child prisoner transported by an Israeli security team in a civilian vehicle and handed to his father in the middle of the night, ensuring no celebration or gathering took place.

Wafa reported that Israeli forces fired tear gas, live and rubber-coated metal bullets at journalists and families who gathered near Ofer to accompany the prisoners’ bus. Several people, including a journalist, were wounded. A full list of the names of prisoners released on Sunday were published by Wafa.

According to the temporary truce terms, 33 Palestinian prisoners and 11 Israelis are expected to be released on Monday, bringing the total to 50 Israelis and 150 Palestinians, one captive for every three prisoners.

Majority of hospitals in Gaza are out of service as Palestinians struggle to count their dead

Health officials in the Gaza Strip warned that hospitals are struggling to cope as Israeli bombardment inflicted severe damages to Al-Shifa’ and the Indonesian hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip.

Four days of relative calm were not enough to recover nor to count the killed and injured in the Gaza genocide during which Israel has dropped the equivalent of two nuclear bombs since October 7.

On Monday, the death toll in the Gaza Strip was not updated by the Ministry of Health. An estimate published by Wafa said at least 15,000 people were killed and 32,000 wounded.

Al-Jazeera reported on Monday morning that piles of bodies have accumulated in Al-Quds and Al-Rantisi hospitals.

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, of whom 1.7 million were internally displaced, are still grasping the sheer destruction caused by the Israeli bombardment of their properties.

On Sunday, Israel announced that it has “seized” a total sum of $1.3 million from “Hamas homes” in Gaza and deposited it in the state coffers. Palestinians described the action as theft and shared stories of Israeli soldiers seizing musical instruments and jewelry and showing them off on social media.

On Monday, Israeli forces shot at people near Al-Maghazi refugee camp, who went back to inspect their houses. Mohammed Zaqout, the general manager of hospitals in Gaza, told Al-Jazeera that hospitals in northern Gaza are short of fuel and have not received any during the truce.

Zaqout said that three hospitals remain working in northern and central Gaza – Ahli Arab Hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital, and al-Awdah Hospital. He added that “Israel destroyed 21 private and 13 governmental hospitals.”

The Israeli army spokesperson said on Monday that 1,200 Israelis have been killed, including 392 soldiers, since October 7, and 9,000 have been injured. He added that 80 out of the 184 remaining captives being held by Hamas have dual citizenship.

On Sunday, Hamas announced the names of some of its senior leaders who were killed fighting the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, including Ahmed al-Ghandour, a member of the Military Council and commander of the Northern Gaza Strip Brigade .

Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, called for an extension to the truce which “would allow for much-needed relief to the people of Gaza and the release of more hostages.”

Dozens of Palestinians arrested in the West Bank

While Israeli jailers were finishing the papers to release 39 Palestinian children on Sunday evening, Israeli forces were at work arresting 60 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

Twenty-nine people were arrested in Hebron, and the others were detained from Ramallah, Jenin, Nablus, Bethlehem, and the village of Jaba.

The Commission for Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs said that since October 7, Israel has arrested 3,260 Palestinians, most of them sentenced to various lengths of administrative detention, a policy used to indefinitely detain Palestinians without charge or trial.

Currently, there are 7,000 Palestinian prisoners, 200 of whom are children. Since October 7, six prisoners have died inside Israeli jails, and 41 journalists remain in detention. Israeli forces and settlers have killed 235 Palestinians during assaults or night raids of towns and villages in the occupied West Bank.

In a new report, Human Rights Watch (HRW) says more Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed by Israeli forces in the last six weeks, since October 7, than in any entire year since 2005.

Israeli far-right Finance Minister dedicates millions of dollars to expanding settlements and arming settlers

Josep Borrell, the EU’s High Representative for foreign affairs and security policy, lambasted the Israeli far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich following his announcement of plans of settlement expansion and arming settlers.

“I’m appalled to learn that in the middle of a war, the Israeli [government] is poised to commit new funds to build more illegal settlements. This is not self-defence and will not make Israel safer. The settlements are grave [International Human Law] breach, and they are Israel’s greatest security liability,” Borrell wrote on the X platform.

Smotrich presented the 2023 budget this week, in which he dedicated a big chunk of it to the war on Gaza Strip, including $4.5 billion to defense and $3.6 billion to civilian war needs.

He also dedicated over $190 million to further the West Bank settlement project, and $530 million to the National Security Ministry, headed by Itamar Ben-Gvir, to arm settlers in the occupied West Bank and set up teams of armed militias and police.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s supplementary budget request to be spent in the final month of 2023.
Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Smotrich’s budget was “a disregard for international and American positions in support of the two-state solution.”

“Approving this proposal indicates Israeli persistence in accelerating the pace of the annexation of the occupied West Bank… exploiting the genocidal war against the Gaza Strip to create new facts on the ground in the occupied West Bank,” the ministry said.

Borrel wrote in a column in the Financial Times that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should end.

“Our political myopia, to think this conflict was manageable by paying lip service to the two-state solution and then leaving it to fester, must end, he wrote.

He added that leaving the conflict to simmer without fixing it “may trigger displacement of people, including towards Europe, and exacerbate the risk of terrorism and intercommunity tensions.”

He concluded that “Israel’s own security requires the creation of a Palestinian state in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.”

In this post, we’ll dive into the fascinating world of tulip flowers, exploring their history, meanings, and more.

Historical Roots: Tulips have a long and illustrious history that traces back to the Ottoman Empire, where they were cultivated as early as the 10th century. The name “tulip” itself is believed to have been derived from the Turkish word “tülbent,” which means turban, a reference to the flower’s resemblance to a turban’s shape. Tulips were introduced to Europe in the 16th century, igniting a craze known as “Tulip Mania” in the Netherlands during the Dutch Golden Age. At the peak of the tulip frenzy in the 1630s, tulip bulbs were sold at exorbitant prices, and they even became a form of currency in speculative trading. Though the bubble eventually burst, tulips remained an enduring symbol of beauty and luxury.

Symbolism and Meanings: Tulips are rich in symbolism, with different colors carrying distinct meanings.

1ð– µ Red Tulips: Often associated with love and passion, red tulips convey deep romantic feelings and are often given as a declaration of love.

4ð– µ Purple Tulips: Regal and elegant, purple tulips signify royalty and admiration. They can also symbolize a sense of calm and tranquility.
5ð– µ Pink Tulips: Pink tulips are a symbol of affection and caring, making them suitable for expressing admiration and appreciation.
6ð– µ Orange Tulips: Vibrant and energetic, orange tulips represent enthusiasm, desire, and passion.

Cultural Significance: Tulips have left their mark on various cultures and have been featured prominently in art, literature, and festivals. In the Netherlands, the Keukenhof Gardens host an annual tulip festival, showcasing millions of tulips in breathtaking displays. Tulips have also been celebrated in the poetry of Persian and Dutch poets, adding to their cultural significance.

Growing and Caring for Tulips: Tulips are relatively easy to grow, making them a popular choice for gardeners. They thrive in well-drained soil and require a period of cold dormancy to bloom. Planting tulip bulbs in the fall allows them to establish roots before the winter chill sets in. Come spring, these resilient flowers burst forth with a riot of color.

In conclusion, tulips are more than just beautiful blooms; they are a testament to history, a language of emotions, and a source of inspiration. Whether you’re tending to a garden, sending a bouquet, or simply admiring their beauty, tulips continue to enchant us with their timeless elegance and symbolism that transcends borders and generations. • The trustworthiness of Bitcoin, a decentralized digital currency, is a complex topic that warrants careful analysis. To evaluate whether one would still trust Bitcoin if it were to experience a drastic crash in value, such as plummeting to $300, it is essential to consider various factors, including the underlying technology, historical context, market dynamics, and individual perspectives.
    Fundamental Technology:
Bitcoin is built on blockchain technology, which provides transparency, immutability, and security. The technology's integrity remains intact irrespective of short-term price fluctuations. Supporters of Bitcoin argue that its underlying technology remains robust even during price crashes, reinforcing their trust in the long-term viability of the cryptocurrency.
    Historical Perspective:
Bitcoin has witnessed multiple price crashes throughout its existence. Notably, the cryptocurrency experienced a significant decline from its all-time high in late 2017 to a low point in early 2019. Despite this decline, Bitcoin has shown resilience and a propensity to recover and reach new heights. Past recoveries and subsequent price appreciation may influence individuals' trust in Bitcoin, as they perceive such crashes as temporary setbacks.
    Market Dynamics:
Bitcoin's market dynamics are influenced by various factors, including supply and demand, investor sentiment, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic conditions. Sudden drops in price can be triggered by factors such as negative news, regulatory uncertainty, or market manipulation. Analyzing the specific reasons behind a crash to $300 is crucial for assessing the trustworthiness of Bitcoin. If the crash is driven by market manipulation or temporary external factors, individuals may maintain trust in Bitcoin's long-term potential.
    Risk Tolerance and Investment Strategy:
An individual's trust in Bitcoin during a $300 crash will depend on their risk tolerance and investment strategy. Those with higher risk tolerance and a long-term investment horizon might see the crash as an opportunity to accumulate Bitcoin at a discounted price, believing in its eventual recovery. Conversely, individuals with lower risk tolerance or short-term investment goals might lose trust in Bitcoin and perceive it as a highly volatile and unreliable asset.
    Fundamental Value and Adoption:
Bitcoin's trustworthiness is also influenced by its fundamental value and adoption. Supporters argue that Bitcoin's scarcity, decentralized nature, and potential for disruption in traditional finance provide a solid foundation for trust, irrespective of short-term price fluctuations. Additionally, the growing adoption of Bitcoin by individuals, institutions, and governments can reinforce trust in the cryptocurrency's long-term potential, even in the face of a price crash.
    Conclusion:
Determining whether one would still trust Bitcoin if it crashed to $300 is a subjective decision influenced by various factors. While price crashes can test investor confidence, it is crucial to assess the underlying technology, historical patterns, market dynamics, risk tolerance, and individual investment strategies. Bitcoin's long-term potential, fundamental value, and adoption rates also play a significant role in shaping trust. Ultimately, each individual must carefully evaluate these factors to make an informed decision about their trust in Bitcoin during periods of extreme price volatility.

Market Dynamics: Bitcoin's market dynamics are influenced by various factors, including supply and demand, investor sentiment, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic conditions. Risk Tolerance and Investment Strategy: An individual's trust in Bitcoin during a $300 crash will depend on their risk tolerance and investment strategy. Fundamental Value and Adoption: Bitcoin's trustworthiness is also influenced by its fundamental value and adoption. Conclusion: Determining whether one would still trust Bitcoin if it crashed to $300 is a subjective decision influenced by various factors.

This is an overdue article. Not completing it, I will consider it a waste of time.
Yesterday, after listening to @neopch uploaded video, I made some notes thinking to write later about the points raised in the HBD scam “debate.” Unfortunately, I got distracted by many concerns in the Business Office, such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) penalty and the need to apply for amnesty to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Listening to TCMD’s voice reminds me of a conversation with a friend a week ago. He shared with me that he invested his money in a government investment tool with a 6 to 7% annual return. Though I did not mention HBD, I mentioned the possibility of a saving with 20% interest rate. As an accountant by profession, his immediate response is that such a thing doesn’t exist. And so, I did not pursue the conversation for he might misinterpret me as pushing a “scam.”
Hearing the word “scam” associated with any project out there is sufficient enough for anyone to close his mind to take a serious look at that particular project. At this point, I think many have already heard such a heavy word used to describe HBD. The fact that HBD has a 20% APR is considered a red flag.
TCMD raised several points. One of them is clarifying the distinction between the contention that HBD is a scam from the question of the sustainability of the 20% APR and the feared “red flag.”
Perhaps, the critics are thinking that HBD giving 20% APR qualifies it as a scam. For TCMD, the response to the scam allegation is clear. Only those who know nothing about Hive will insist that HBD is a scam.
Turning to the other questions whether the 20% APR makes a project a scam or unsustainable, we need a different response. Another point that TCMD emphasized is that no single individual or any centralized entity made the decision to come up with such a high-interest rate. In fact, he mentioned that he favored the more conservative 12%.
And so, it was the community that made the decision to increase the APR of HBD to 20%. Another surprising idea I heard is about a proposal to increase the interest to 30%. We don’t know if this will pass the polling process or when will it be implemented. Perhaps, once such an increase is made, the voice of those who accuse HBD of a scam will get even louder.
Another interesting insight mentioned in the video is that the history of the market price of HBD is usually over the peg rather than under the peg of $1.00 worth of HIVE. Given that the token has a seven-year history (as far as the technology behind is concerned) and many digital applications are developed as well as the growing number of in-person economies utilizing the token, the fear that it might follow the footstep of LUNA is unlikely to happen. Perhaps, if no projects are being built on top of Hive, such dreaded crash may be justified.
Lastly, TCMD mentioned that looking back at the history of the price of the token, the typical swing is between 10% to 20%. Yes, no one can say for sure about the future direction of the price of the token, but if I will bet between crashing and price appreciation, I think the facts support the latter. T
So that’s all I’ve learned from listening to the video uploaded by @neopch. Thanks!
Finally, I was able to complete this article and I feel satisfied somehow.
