You can call this HBD 2030. This vision is only applicable to Hivers in developing nations. Of course, we don’t know the future. We don’t know what will happen to HIVE and HBD a year from now. How much more 7 years from now? This limitation should not prevent us from dreaming.
Hivers in developed countries need a bigger quantity of HBD to sustain them when they will be out of work in their old age. In our case, I think 256 HBD per month is enough to provide our necessities, for my wife and me. I will be 63 by that time and she will be 53.
Originally, I intend to have 100 HBD by the end of the year. That will be my seed money. @gadrian suggested that I should aim for 120 HBD at least for me to receive two HBD per month with the current 20% interest.
After a few days, such a suggestion triggers me to contemplate the possibility of creating a retirement plan using HBD. Let us say I started with 120 HBD by the end of the year. If I will earn two HBD per month with that amount of savings, I will end up the year with 144 HBD.
The computation of course is not simple as that. It is based upon the idea that everything is fixed such as the interest rate and the quantity of HBD I will be accumulating per month. If one of these will change, then my computation will no longer be applicable.
For the sake of clarity and illustration, I beg your patience to allow me to build a hypothetical situation with fixed numbers. This will make my computation easier.
Let us say that I can double the amount of HBD I have every year and so by the end of 2024, I will have 240 HBD in my savings and this will earn 48 HBD in a year.
By 2025, I will have 480 HBD and will be earning 96 HBD the whole year.
By 2026, I will have 960 and will be earning 192 HBD for the entire year. With doubling capacity in my hypothetical situation, by 2030, I will have 15,360 HBD in my wallet and will earn 3,072 HBD in a year.
With 256 HBD per month, that’s 12,800 PHP every month or a total of 153,600 PHP within a year. I think I can live with that provided that the standard of living will not be so far from what it is now.
Again, this is just speculation. Reality is more complicated than my computation. Nevertheless, this gives me an idea about the future direction I want to take with HBD.
Grace and peace!
