Girl takes off coat to shelter injured dog in the rain and image goes viral on social media.
Cibely Luíza, 12, had just left school and was on her way home when she decided to help a dog that was injured in the rain. The girl took off her coat, wrapped the dog up and carried her on her lap. The case took place on Thursday (14), in Blumenau, in the Vale do Itajaí (SC).
“I was making lunch when I came across the scene. When I saw her taking off her coat, I ran out to get my cell phone to register, because I knew a beautiful scene would come. It was all so fast, and really charming.”
Cibely carried the puppy to her house. Halfway there, he got tired of holding the umbrella and dropped it.
The girl's mother, Rejane Stiegelmair, was startled when she saw her daughter all wet and dirty with the dog's blood. “We knew that she is a wonderful girl, but watching this video and with so many messages of affection we received, we saw that we are on the right track. It fills our hearts with joy.”
Subsequently, Pretinha, the name given to the dog, was taken to a veterinary clinic, where she received care.
She was on a leash, so the family believed she had guardians. But they were not found. As she already has two other dogs, Cibely couldn't keep Pretinha. So she was put up for adoption.
Due to the great repercussion, Pretinha got clothes and bedding.
“I can't help but comment on how good generates a stream of good people. My dogs had makeshift beds, now they all have beds. The vet appointment was paid for by someone else. I see a lot of people offering help with food or allowance. The world is not lost, (but) we still have many good people”, concluded Rejane.
