Okayama University Hospital Clinical Pharmacists Find COVID-19 Vaccination Risk of Myocarditis Highest in Age 12-17 Cohort. In Japan recently, biomedical researchers affiliated with the Japanese Society of Toxicology attended the 51st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Toxicology July 3 to July 5, 2024. Given the incidence of myocarditis and pericarditis, the Japanese clinical pharmacists aimed to use real world data to conduct a large-scale investigation into the risk of myocarditis post COVID-19 vaccination in children. The team extracted data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2022 in America.
